it's the soundtrack from the first "Highlander" movie, with Christophe Lambert (if you haven't seen the movie, just don't hesitate, but only the first one). There were other little gems from that soundtrack, like "Princes of the Universe" (I'm sure you've heard this one!) or "One year of love", "Kind of magic".
Beautiful sountrack for a wonderful movie. Too bad the following movies sucked but the tv series was good IMO. There are rumors of a Highlander reboot with Henry Cavill (Yes, Superman himself, lol).
No, the sadness has to do with the story of the movie: it's about immortals who have to go on living while watching the ones they love die. "There can be only one", is the mantra of the movie, the immortals have to fight each other for "The Prize".

The song was made for the movie “Highlander” about an immortal who loses the love of his life yet still chooses to go on and do great things. Good movie. You have the most fun reactions, I actually watch you and not them! This song gives me chills every single time. Brian May’s almost angelic voice here in contrast to Freddie and his powerhouse voice. And there is nothing better than when you combine rock and roll music with an orchestra, something you think wouldn’t work but it really does! Plus the kid’s at the end? Chills just all the way! ❤️

This performance by Queen is outstanding but I also highly recommend that you watch the video of The Tenors featuring Lindsey Sterling doing this song, it is brilliant with The Tenors playing the part of Vampires.

One of my favorite songs, and I met Queen as a young boy, I was 12 when I found a cassette in the forest in the 90's and since I started listening to them I can't listen anymore. Yes, the cassette found in the woods has changed my approach to music for years.

My favorite song from Queen since I saw Highlander (the movie) when I was really young. And still my favorite ! Just sad that the video you react was cut before the last notes of the song. Great reaction thank you !

I like how in the end it's triumphant: like, 'Fuck it! You're only gonna be around for a short bit of my immortal life, so I'm just gonna have to cram an ETERNITY's worth of love into that short life of yours however I can!'

    Ma chanson préférée du groupe.
J'ai toujours aimé les slow-rock comme pour le groupe Scorpion.
Cette chanson de Queen a le pouvoir de me faire pleurer.

AKA the "love theme" from Highlander. One of the MANY great fantasy flicks to come out of the 80s.
