Thank you!
Thank you..i will never forget my childhood memories...still have my collection..never get old for ghostbusters
Pixel Dan Hi!
I was 9 years old when i met the tv show and toy line and it was awesome. I loved the cartoon more than the movies and I had some figures (the power pack heroes line) and the red ectoplasm can. Years later i lost all my ghostbusters toys but recovered thanks to ebay.
My only regret is that I couldn't love this video, I could only like it.
Man, him asking his mom to wake him up for ghostbusters honestly pulled at the heart strings
God i miss the 80s :')
Me 2
Me 3
@@Fred_The_Owl_Bear me 69
this makes me wish i was around in the 80s even more
This video warmed my heart so much. I practically cried when watching iretrogamer's video from his birthday. It was exactly like my birthdays during my big TMNT obsession in the late 80s and early 90s. What an excellent collaboration video, and the video at the end with Dan's son was adorable. Always glad to see all the toys and properties I cherished in the 80s find affection from younger generations. While I've always loved Ghost Busters, I didn't have many Ghost Busters toys. I mostly remember owning the mantis car shown here and a werewolf figure, but everything in this video is so relatable. I remember a party I had that was completely TMNT themed. I got a TMNT t-shirt, coloring book, lunch box, paint set, playdough board game, had a Raph pinata, and best of all, got a handful of new TMNT figures, including Casey Jones and one of my all time favorites, Slash. Possibly the best birthday I can remember.
As a man who is of 21 years of age, I can honestly say that I’ve shed a tear to this video. A tear of sadness and yet a tear of happiness. This is almost Oscar or BAFTA worthy of a video. There was so much heart and emotion in it. Your love of toys and the great nostalgia you get from them makes me feel appreciated that I still have some of my old toys and that I look back at them with a smile. I’m not ashamed to admit that, privately, I would occasionally play with them just to relive the memories. Thank you so much Dan.
21... kind of too young to really have experienced what a lot of us in our 40s have back in the 80s when this came out. You could have gotten them later and all but it’s different when you were there day 1 on release day, I remember standing in line in the mall to get into the toy store and seeing all the displays and cardboard cutouts of the real ghostbusters stuff
@@paulg2100 Why does it necessarily matter, though? Also, all he said was that he appreciated this video and enjoyed the fact that he had his old toys.
I’m 22 and I didn’t even grow up with a lot of the older toys from the 80’s-90’s, yet I still collect and even play with them (depending on the toy, of course). I’ll also play with my own childhood toys and games here and there, as well.
21 or 41, it really doesn’t matter. :| No one should have to be there on day one just to experience the joys of something like this.
Don’t gatekeep this stuff, man.
This was a straight to the heart video. I was born in 65 and grew up in the 70s. My fondest memories were playing with my mego planet of the apes, 12in GI Joes, six million dollar man, evel knievel and the Micronauts. Memories that I hope I never forget. Thanks Pixel Dan. You are really the man.
I cry... because I use to have several of those The Real Ghostbusters Toys, thanks for sharing, Cheers from México City ;)
ok almost brought tears into my eyes.
Wonderful video, Dan. The whole time I was watching it I kept recalling my childhood, playing with my Masters of the Universe toys. I come from a large extended family - 18 cousins! I'd make them all play with me when they came to visit, and of course THEY had to be Skeletor so I could trounce'em with my He-Man or Ram Man figures lol.
A gorilla on top of the firehouse? I think young Tyler's getting his Ghostbusters series mixed up.
Love this video.
As a father myself, I have to applaud you for allowing your kid to play with your collection. Even at the risk of him snapping something off by mistake.
Thanks for this video. Brought back a lot of memories.
When I was 5 or 6 my step mom comes home with that stay puft on one of the pictures and she gave it to me.she got it at a store in Sydney and I loved it.
Oh it was the year 2013
Thanks for this. Playing Ghostbusters with my cousin when we were kids are some of my most cherished memories. This kind of got me a little emotional...
I teared up at the end when Tyler's father was talking to him. Excellent video. This is what it's all about.
I wished my childhood was this good, my dad was never around to spend time or play with me
I feel sorry... what would you do without him? Did you play with your toys usually? Just wondering
Beautiful, just beautiful Dan, thank you for sharing the memories.
I am legit tearing up from this video. This hit me right in my nostalgia cause I was a Ghostbuster kid too. Sooooo many memories thank you Dan!
2024 & I'm still watching this...maan this is coolest every story & documentary...love it 👌
Last time I had memories like this is when I got my first toy of the Mystery Machine from Scooby Doo
I'm not crying, you're crying!! Seriously man, I love this video. I was a Ghostbusters freak as a kid, and this video definitely hit home. I also was lucky to be a pretty spoiled kid and always had amazing Christmas mornings and birthdays. I love these "memory lane" type videos.
Tyler is definitely a real Ghostbuster. Nostalgic toys continue to bring joy to kids of all generations. Spence and you have already begun to create new memories ,you make a great team.Great video Dan love your work👍👍.
Wonderful video! If my parents owned a video camera we'd have so much TMNT toy footage. Alas, all that remains are memories. But great ones! My brother and I used to do a lot of playing. Thanks for sharing, Dan!
This video had me crying. My 11 year old daughter passed away last year and I can clearly remember her running around the house playing with my old Battlecat from my own childhood. I also remember her absolutely adoring her mother's childhood collection of Cabbage Patch Kids little plastic figurines. Till we meet again My Little Love I will look on these toys and remember the joy they brought you and the joy you brought me.
Weirdly enough, your friend Tyler sounds like Ray in the animated series lol
Its so nice to see that kids on the other side of the world have the same childhoods like myself, wonderfull vid 😊
This was pure joy to watch.
Christmas morning was insane with Ghostbusters toys! Remember that as if it was yesterday.
I was born in 82....grew up on these figures....you're absolutely awesome..loved this video...thank you..
Awesome video Dan wish you Tyler and your family the best its so wonderful you get to share it with you son now its very special.
Thank you for opening your heart. This is a toy video with soul of its own.
I teared up during this. What a great dad
I’d completely forgot about these. Some many fond memories!!!
My eyes were sweating during the video...I am part of your generation and my three and four year old sons are obsessed with ghostbusters...Tyler’s dad...my goodness that is the man and the dad that I want to be for my children.
I agree with you dan
The Best memories in my life with my parents.
Toys ghostbuster living in mine mind.
Omg i hate to sound corny but this brought a tear to my eye im a 80s baby and i had all these toys he got in this video and just happened my mom was here from out of town spending a few nights with me and her grandchildren thanks for the memories couldn't have been timed any better
I have those ghostbusters bed sheets omg
Also this video almost made me cry which is crazy cause I never cry, it’s hard for things to pull at my heart strings and this just did. I never grew up in the 80s but I had a lot of these toys and I swore to never get rid of them so I can share them to my kids showing what made me happy when I was a kid.
As a 38 yr old father , i got 2 boys and they love toys. U just gave me a great idea and i know will start to record more stuff! This was awesome to watch
Dan thank you for sharing these fond memories. I remember as a 12 yr old kid receiving a Takatoku Orguss battle action robot, with amazing Japanese lettering and a very cool design of the box. I was very blessed to have numerous toys as a child which in time I completely forgot about them, now as a 45 yr old dude, it seems that I need capture this essence and recapture fond memories by start connecting a very cool past time, Toy collecting. Thanks will keep on watching.
Awesome video, gentlemen. I love it. In 1987, I was that little kid. Now 30 years later, I'm the dad. It's great to get to see the same scene from both sets of eyes. Stuff like this tugs at the ole heartstrings. Well done, fellas. Well done.
They showed it at theaters for one day a few years ago and it was the best moment of my life...I wasn’t born until 84 so I missed seeing it at theaters
I didn't realize how good I had it until I saw how many of the same exact toys I had as Tyler did.. My dad never made much money but we had allllll the ghostbusters toys and memorabilia and it's always been a great time to think back to, when GB was at its peak and I was a carefree child drowning in the coolest toys imaginable. I still have some of them and have grown my collection into some of the modern GB figures and things because it always brings me back to those times. Great video
I remember the Xmas I got the proton pack and trap, probably the most excited I ever was ! Now I have a 3 year old girl and she loves watching real ghostbusters on Netflix and playing with the Playmobil sets. Nothing nicer as a parent :)
Great video ... and this is why at 37 i have a Kenner Real Ghostbusters Stay Puft and Slimer sitting on my display shelf.
When it cuts back to you at the end of Tyler's footage, it reminds me of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood.
What a great video. I grew up in a household that was pretty verbally abusive, but I was lucky that I had toys and books. The few good memories I have mostly involve MOTU, Transformers, comic books, and super hero figures. I can't do anything to change that, but fast forward to today and my wife and I have a daughter (who isn't much older than your son). We are giving her a much better and more emotionally supportive childhood and our playtime together will not be the only good memories she has :).
What a great video, Dan. Thanks for sharing!
I hear you dan..im in my 30 and grew up in the 80s...and just love toys. The 80ghostbusters...gi joe..tmnt..turtles..voltron...thundercats were things every kid from that era loved.
Adorable video. Every kid needs fun toys and loving parents.
thanx dan . i already remember my chilhood toy ghostbuster... im a toy collector to, her in philippines. now im already 36. a toy lover enjoying watch all your toy review, from TMNT to VOLTRON. and i collect them because of you. Thanx alot Dan 😀😀😀
Dude...I’m 30 and I would love a birthday like this still...miss my ghostbusters toys
I’m glad I was born in 82! Nothing beats the ghostbusters and tmnt :)
That was a very beautiful and wonderful. I have a picture of me and my family on Christmas And underneath the tree was the G.I.Joe X-30 Conquest. And today as a father the best part is going on a toy hunt with him and seen a joy in his eyes at a toy store or garage sell or wherever we're at. It's just freaking mind blowing
That was pretty amazing at the end of Tyler's video. "Hey mom, can you wake me up for Ghostbusters?" great ending to that segment.
That kids dad is a hero.
It's so cool you got video footage of playing with the toys ✌️the real ghostbusters toy line was so cool one of my favourite for toys.
Why would anyone thumbs down this video? This was heartwarming.
Great Memories...thanks for sharing!
Pixel dan you've done it again, you captured my childhood in this video and i wanna thank you for your contribution to all of us with a child in our hearts cause you brought that child out every video you've made keep up the excellent jod. Stay hunting.
Ghostbusters glow 'n the dark sheets were awesome. I had them...still have them to this day!
Chris Mahoney i know that pillow case was awesome glow in the dark and that goblin with the one eye pops out with the string attached so nostalgic to me
Man i wish i still had my sheet set to this day
this was awesome! i remember that 80s car toy too where your driving on that screen and had a gear stick to control the speed! I used to love the real ghostbusters cartoon, I remember the toys fondly! I remember that garbage fly monster, he was awesome. I remember I used to put the ends of a paper bag on my Peter figure and from a high place just throw him and the bag acted like a parachute , great times.
Great video Dan, every kid deserves a great childhood full of awesome toys. So many memories. Ninja turtles were my favorite growing up in the 80s.
Fear The Beard huge Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles fan too. 😁 Raphael was my favorite turtle
Oh man!!! Thanks for this video. I love ghostbusters to
Great team up guys! This was a lot of fun.
I love your video! You had a happy childhood and it shows in the passion you have for toys.
Greetings from Italy
Aaahh memories love them. I remember when I got my Christmas toy it was a godzilla figure and that earlier before I was even born and still in my mom's stomach, she told that she was watching every godzilla movies she can watch and that's how I came to a world of loving godzilla. Not only just love godzilla but many others giant monster movies including the ghostbusters and that's something I'll never forget, I love my memories.
I loved that video because it brought back so many awesome memories. Thanks guys and ya'll are the best.
The real ghostbusters toy is my love for this. 😊😊
Awesome video Dan and Tyler so much nostalgia
I dont have such a precise record of back then but the Ghostbusters are the first toys i remember i wanted. It was a blast when each visit at the mall means my parents buy me one and are still one of the most fun and weird lines to date.
I am still collecting them. I am just missing Bad to the Bone and the Brain Ghost.
While Tyler was getting Ghostbuster toys in the mid 80's I was getting He-man and GI Joe's plus mixed in the occasional Transformers... Fantastic uplaod I do watch MyRetroLife love that channel in the end it still makes me sad and happy at the same time knowing all these memories hold loved ones we can't see anymore these toys will always hold a special place in my heart..
OMG brings back so many memory’s watching this. I had everything too. So many good memory’s as a kid. Not a care in the world just playing with my Ghostbusters toys 😍😍😍
Thank you for the great video! I had the same Experience in The Netherlands! I have some old birthday photo's from 1990 with the Kenner Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and the Ecto-500. I still remember that I was walking in 1989 in a Toystore, and my mother was buying the Peter Venkman figure (brown overall) with the Blue ghost figure.
All I can best describe this video as is: Pure Awesome Innocent Fun and Nostalgia ^_^. The moments with Spencer at the end mirrored Tyler so perfectly despite their moments being maybe 30 years apart... An Awesome collaboration Dan, you should do more with Tyler!
This is AWESOME thanks for sharing. That Ghostbusters Firehouse footage might be the first official toy review vid but before UA-cam or social media so impossible to share back then haha. I have memories of opening up the original Star Wars ships with my brother on Christmas morning, the X-Wing and Advanced Tie fighter. Cherished memories!
Thanks for sharing this Tyler & Dan!
Had those exact same toys still packed away. Between tmnt he-man and starcom but most of those are gone :( awesome vid glad to be part of it
Man, I played so much at the Runny Nose Kid's house. He had all the toys, lol. Wasn't allowed to have Ghostbusters as a kid, so of course wanted them more.
This are the vids that I like. I really enjoyed. Back in the day not everybody had money or cool dads but I was lucky to get the Proton pack and the ghost zapper. My favorites were the Transformers. I remember that you could only had one line and it was difficult to had just one. So many things came at that time. Thank you!
Thank you pixel dan for another great video you guys rock
I love the ghostbusters
I'm a huge TMNT fan but the Real Ghostbusters toys were pretty cool. You could pull their arm and make their eyes pop out and hair go up. Cool ghosts, accessories, ex... 😁 On my channel I have videos of the old retro commercials so it's cool to see that and go "Wow even the way they advertised the stuff was cool". I had a friend who had the proton packs and I remember running around playing Ghostbusters. I just got the Real Ghostbusters cartoon collection too. Thanks for the memories. As an 80s kid i love my generation and the cartoons
Dan great video. Im really glad i got to watch it. One of your best videos ever.
I use to know a friend who had a few ghost buster toys. One of them was this weird motorcycle monster. It was actually kind of cool how it transformed.
the real Ghostbusters cartoon was ahead of its time. it still holds up to this day. man I miss those days. cartoons these days are terrible. I feel bad for my kids
Thanks for sharing the memories Dan. You too Tyler.
This video make me so happy and so sad at the same time. happy because of remembering my childhood and reminiscing about the toys, but also sad because it seems to me that kinds these days don't have the same kind of magic when it comes to toys, no phenomenon to cling to. I don't have kids myself but I've seen my sisters kids grow up and they've never had something to obsess about. I guess that if I ever get kids I have to buy old toys and have them play with that
I really wish I was in the 80’s
Amazing video, Dan. Thank you for sharing.
Good times and a good childhood 👐 I still have my old toys like tmnt and robocop ghostbusters and Star Wars
These toys for many of us were a safe place. A place where we could escape from our realities at the time. Unfortunately for some of us life as a kid was hard, scary and troubling. However when you held a Heman, Ghostbuster, Transformer, etc in your hand you could be somewhere else for a bit and in that fantasy world you could stop the evil, and be the hero. You could make all things right.
Alister Cooke has nothing on you. just simply amazing.
so upset I lost the few kenner catalog that showed every single ghostbusters toy lines, as well m.a.s.K. and few others.
you gotta be loving the masters of the universe wave 2 pop figures. battle chest he-man and skeletor...
I have to admit anyone who has all bases of Evey toy line from the eighties is insanely awesome. but I just enjoy the ppl aren't afraid to share their passions with others.
keep up the great work.
total nostagiea brings me back to when I was a child playing w/ my RGB toys. I still collect them and this makes me smile.
I wish I had my photo proof of Christmas toys I played with like yours. I only have one picture of me playing with tmnt haul. That picture is worth more to me then most of my possessions.
Thanks Dan and Tyler, Lovely stuff. Brought back some great memories. I used to take my ecto 1 everywhere with me as a kid. Great to see you including your son in your passion for toys. I still have loads of my old toys from then all with fantastic memories attached and when I have kids they're gonna inherit the lot. Some people forget that toys are there to be played with.
Right in the feels. I miss times like that.
Man. You had an awesome dad.
very amazing stuff i loved the toilet ghost and the ghost traps that almost broke my fingers eveytime i played with them but my real love of this line were the monsters the wolfman and dracula especially the mummy i love seeing these old videos
Cool and awesome toys 😎
