“Hey Mr Pilot battle droid, how’s the weather look?” - Ryans 2012 review of this set was the first Mandr vid I ever watched. Thanks Ryan for all you do!
I remember back in 2010 when I was living in an apartment with my step family, this was all I wanted. I wanted this set for so many years and I remember my parents telling me it was to expensive. Honestly I blame that build me up butter cup assembly video that was made for this set, if anyone knows what I’m talking about I’m proud of you.
I used to watch that video religiously like a decade ago, it's how I found that song and the band and I was so obsessed with the set but never got it, I'm thinking about finally ordering it after all this time
Have this set next to my 2008 gunship. Parents came in clutch back to back years for Christmas. Both are probably my favorite 2 sets of all time and will definitely stay that way.
i still remember the first time i saw this box stuffed in my friend’s closet….i asked where it was and he shrugged his shoulders, said “I took the figures out and threw the rest of the pieces back in the box.” Looking in said box was just some loose pieces and bags 3 & 5…i was so jealous of kids like that. was my dream set then and probably always will be cuz $100 to me when I was that young was basically what it actually cost now.
So happy I managed to get mine for $150 on ebay used, but in mint condition. Now LEGO just needs to make a UCS version with twice the amount of droids.
Best lego set of all time for me! My mom bought it for me the second year we move to Shanghai when I was a kid, and you have no idea how much it meant for me! Absolute GOAT.
It’s still my favorite Lego set so glad 11 year old me convinced my parents to get it for me in 07. That Advertisement definitely worked on me too I still get chills listening to it today sadly we won’t ever gets advertisements like that ever again
This set is just proof battle droid are the best “ At least we don’t release giant transports big enough of only one spot for a mini figure, looking at you 2013 clone trooper atte"
I remember saving up as a kid, going to Legoland and buying this set on the way out. My parents were confused why I wanted this one specifically but I remember that I went straight to it and picked it up. Such an amazing set
Great video. I am a new fan of your channel and I love your vibe. Also, I can't tell the difference between the two Bottega bags, the kislux is close and cute, so that's enough for me. I will bring my friends to buy.
So thankful my parent bought me this when I was 9, they didn't often buy lego sets (jealous of your childhood) as I've only got a handful I've been able to hold onto. Can't believe they tried convincing me to get 'rid' of my old sets bc I don't play with them anymore. Anyway its an amazing feeling knowing I own a top 5 GOAT sets lol
I dreamed of getting this set for years and years. Finally bought one used in 2019 along with two old AATs based off Episode I. It was the AAT from either year 1999 or 2000. I had to sell it later due to financial constraints but i fulfilled the dream i had of owning a complete 7662. Good times.
I remember paying $270 for one of these in a beat up but sealed box on bricklink in like 2010 thinking that was way to much money. Now I wish I got one more. Not my favorite lego set, but may be my favorite playset of all time
I remember going to Toys-R-Us when I was like 8 years old to get this for my birthday. I even remember it was a dark, cold and rainy morning. I still have it to this day 100% complete except the box and instructions got destroyed along the way
The best MTT and I am so happy my dad bought me that during the release. Sadly my child self destroyed that box and disassembled the entire thing in a fit of rage and scattered it in 10 different boxes 1 day I get to rebuilding it ^^
Do it man, Just done mine took about 3 days finding it piece by piece. Still got some pieces the wrong colour because I couldn't find them but I've ordered some.
I had one that I loved when I was a kid, but I accidentally dropped it (in an ill advised attempt to swoosh it) and it went absolutely nuclear when it hit the floor. We searched everything top to bottom and still couldn’t find all the pieces. So I took what was left with it and turned it into an open top droid base that I could pick up and bring to friends houses when we had LEGO wars. Still pretty bummed about loosing that beast, but at least I still got to have some good fun with it
I remember being so sad my parents didn't get me this when I saw it displayed at Toys-R-Us and i'm still salty. This really was the best version of the set imo and so awesome for army building.
If they ever made another MTT, I'd like to see them do it in CIS blue and gray colors. That would be something we haven't seen before in Lego. And of course being back the 20 droids and please a good droideka.
I painstakingly pieced this set together about 6 months ago, and let me tell you once I discovered that the battle droids I was getting had the wrong torso variant from what the set includes I went way down the rabbit hole to finish the set right. Side note, getting all the wrong battle droids allowed me to start a side project battle droid army.. I do think this is one of the best lego star wars sets ever, I would've loved this when it came out if I wasn't going through a dark age.
Thank you so much for the review of the MTT. Love your channel. Keep it up, you are our eyes and ears when it comes to LEGO Star Wars. Is there a chance in the future of this MTT going head to head with the other MTT releases? 😉
I still remember getting this set back in 2007 and thinking it was absolutely amazing. I wish Lego would make a five to $700 UCS version with 100 battle droids!
As I’m building new sets these days I can still respect the engineer’s work and ideas they put into making the sets but there’s not much in the way of interchangeable parts presently. It’s crazy how much they’ve stopped putting as much effort into things 9:56
A playscale invisible hand With General grevious a Magnaguard a Security battle droid Count dooku Chancellor palpatine Anakin skywalker and Obi wan kenboi As the minifigures would be amazing
Ryan, I'm so happy you did this review, I had this set among a bunch of other Legos but this was definitely my favorite as a child and I lost my entire Lego collection in a move that I didn't realize as a little kid was an eviction and so everything😮 that was left behind was left for good so that was tragic. Cool to watch this video. I might buy a fake brick built version of the MTT just to have something similar because it is a really cool vehicle and the Lego one is just too damn expensive 😅🤘🏻
Best set ever, lego battle droids always were my favourite. Especially the mtt… would love to see some more sets with commando droids or vehichles that hold the droids like the mtt.
BRUH THE MEMORIES I REMEMBER LOOKING THROUGH MY LEGO CATALOGS AND CHOOSING WHAT I WANTED FOR CHRISTMAS AND MY BIRTHDAY AND THIS WAS THE SET I WANTED SO BADLY BUT NEVER GOT BECAUSE THE WAVE ENDED BEFORE DECEMBER
I really hope they remake this, at this scale, with the same features and number of droids, very soon. Probably asking for more than what LEGO will do, but you can hope. They could definitely add some improvements to the build with updated techniques but hopefully not lose the features.
I want a remake of this set. I’ve wanted one for years. I would buy it for $300 even if it was the same size AS LONG AS IT HAD AT LEAST 20 BATTLE DROIDS
It is a shame that I was not collecting back then. This kind of set if redone, would not come with 20 battle droids. That is a shame. I would love to have one of these for my collection but I would not spend the money to get one of these now in box. Great review!
An MTT is high up on my list of sets that really need a new version. Ideally it would be a Phantom Menace version (but a Clone Wars blue and grey one would work) with lots of Battle Droids and a few Gungan soldiers, maybe with a Boss Nass figure if we’re lucky.
If they release a new one today it would be $200 with 5 battle droids and a lone Security Droid (they’d call it a pilot) and there would be a $35 battle pack with 5 more droids released at the same time
I always had zero interest in this vehicle and very low interest in separatist vehicles. Even nowadays after playing multiple video games with a special mention to Empire At War mods (Republic at War & Fall of the Republic) and getting some appreciation to separatist navy- I still have zero feelings for the MTT. So without any bias I can say it's a 10/10 set. It looks extremely accurate, has great play features and doesnt cheap out on minifigures, hell, it seems to go beyond the call of duty in that department. If it had a reasonable price these days I'd buy it
I'm surprised you didn't mention the two different color brown bricks in this set. Being from 2007, the year Lego switched to brittle brown, this set was on shelves during the transition and it was common for it to receive both the new and old bricks leading to faint color variations in the brown bricks included.
I don't mind of old "not matching" colors. It was unique. Lego adaptation, but not like Black Series model to be more accurate. First sets, yes, was poor, but 2007+ - enough. Best sets. Not too complicated, simple, and quite accurate, and with taste - that was enough. Like minifigures. I want it to be Lego minifigures, lego adaptation, not another-brand model This set is 66/10
I've owned this set since it's original run and I NEVER realized the grey plated sections (gun rack, droid rack, etc.) were meant to be interchangeable. I feel like such a fool, lol.
i’m chilling here on a friday weening off a wicked Hallowhangover with a retro star wars review. Thank you Ryan for all you do for me

@@thetallgrass😂
Agreed. Just got home from school chilling with Halloween candy and hot spiced cider, next to the fire. 😊
If they make another one, they have to do it right. 20 Battle Droids MINIMUM!
No chance they do that
They’ll probably give us 10 and say it’s an extra $40
I’m hoping they keep it the same price and stop OVERPRICING ALL THE SETS
They don't really have trouble with battle droids. They could probably include 20 realistically

I built this set listening to that video back in the day!
@@_trublu_2307get the aliexpress version, instead of 1000 bucks u pay 70 euro’s and it still is a fine set (i have 2 and love em)

It's been 12 days since we've seen an upload...excited to see what content we get when he returns

1:19 He has the thumbnail, stoked for star destroyer reviews and comparisons!
I hate that companies like Lego and Hasbro are scared to make big villian sets. We need more stuff like this, the heroes need something to fight!!
THIS was the best set I owned as a kid. We couldn’t afford a lot of sets, but this one was a ready-made army for me to play with. So much fun.

Great choice for review. Another step closer to your thorough and polished review of every Lego Star Wars set
I got it for christmas when i was younger and it was the coolest lego set i ever owned
What are the odds that specific amount, shape, and color of plastic inside of that large piece of cardboard would be worth so much 🤯🤯🤯
The straight arm battle droid arms were invented for the Summer 2007 Castle Skeletons.

Well done sir 👍
Just remember, if you hate lego's prices you can always get this exact set off temu/aliexpress for 50$... same goes for the dropship & the gunship
Also anything UCS related and even the motorized AT AT
The fact that it also did not come with any named characters made this one giant battlepack.
I get the feeling that Lego will never top this MTT ever.
