Hello Doctor, Very informative video, My son who is 8 years old had this condition earlier in the year when post fever and runny nose was unable to walk with pain in both calves, on running blood tests CPK was elevated @ 1850 & doctors concluded this to be Viral myositis and full recovery was made in 2-3 days. Now 4 months later this has recurred same pain in both calves following 2-3 days of high viral fever, runny nose & headache. The CPK level 2nd time was 750 considerably lower than the 1st time and the symptoms were much milder this time and recovery took 24hrs. Can this be recurring & how to prevent this in future ie any precautionary measures that can we can take? Also by taking Flu vaccine provide any protection? Thank you in advance
1. yeah it can recur… 2. just like other respiratory viral illness, it subsides by its own. 3. fir prevention, contact should be eliminated- maintain distance , frequent hand wash, apply face mask, avoid crowded place etc 4. flu vaccine is helpful.

Hello Dr , .. the CPK value 2 days back was 30 mg/L he cannot walk We gave him neurofen yesterday and he walked a little but today morning again cannot walk Also we have done Xray ...we are worried that it can be something else as when the neurofen effect receeds the pain comes back. CPK increases when the muscles get affected. as far treatment is considered, there is no any specific medicine available till date. it requires only symptomatic and supportive therapy...

just get the CPK done.blood tests for Acute febrile Illness can be done for proper diagnosis

CPK increases when the muscles get affected. as far treatment is considered, there is no any specific medicine available till date. it requires only symptomatic and supportive therapy...

it’s a self resolving viral illness. usually it takes 3 to 7 days to resolve. However it can go pro weeks to months in patients having chronic illness
