What a tight band , I even heard the beginnings of Prince doodling guitar chords which became sign of the times 1 year after this concert. Creativity at all times. He seems very at home here ,unsurprisingly. Thanks for this treat.
I'm somewhat surprised no one has ever addressed this yet, but they're not interpolating 'Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground) by The Jacksons, during America. That chant originates from the 1977 hit 'Got To Give It Up' by Marvin Gaye, specifically the latter half of the song. They're going, "Let's dance, let's shout/Get funky, what it's all about”, which is direct lyrics from Marvin's song.
Part 1 is posted on my channel ‘Concert 35’ - here’s the link. You may want to go through my concert list - they are mostly numbered but I also have unnumbered Soundchecks/Rehearsals. Why are those M.J trolls always over here watching Prince Rogers Nelson ? Always trying to dog PRINCE to build up M.j. Some people are so JEALOUS of the truely talented God given gifts that Prince had. M.J IS NOT the only one that God gave gifts to. God made all. 🙌
Mj didn't have much to offer, especially after his death. New Prince songs are still being released. Mj was not able to do something even close to that performance, Prince was performing with a band that jammed, laughed, rehearesed and spent a lot of time together in Mnpls - even though Prince was the leader, it became one unmatched unit. That concert was at home, a place where Prince could let his talent role and experiment and do whatever he wanted.
I’m sorry I’m one of the biggest Prince fans but this sounds so sloppy, probably get a lot of hate but it’s sloppy. It sounds like they are trying to do too much. His best stuff is the most simple stuff that harmonizes and hits just right. This is jumbled and just all over the place.
@1:08:19 he is talking about is plans to build Paisley Park.
I absolutely love that he followed through on that promise and that we're still hanging out there.
