    wow this was an amazing build series. I bought this car used from kijiji for $130 Cad and with all of these mods the build turned out to be $275 which is still less than retail haha

    I upgraded my sprint 2 flux to cf chassis & castle 5700kv locked rear diff, one way front diff & am waiting on pulleys & belt from asia tees. I have couple question Rich. First just without the pulleys seems to be drifting nice with locked rear diff and one way front diff. If i want race this on carpet tour course track should i avoid the pulleys cs setup and switch back to stock setup? I have avc reciver is this good for drifting? If I locked rear diff, one way front diff, plus the pulleys and bigger rear belt is not good tour course track setup? I really liked your DETC410 build. Sweet car for price. Will this car be fast with castle 5700kv & sidewinder 3 setup? If so i rather just get the DETC410 instead of swaping pulleys & diffs on my sprint 2 flux everytime I race. Would the flux vapor & 5900kv be good motor for the DETC410?

      AVC is basically a gyro, which allows for an easier drift for most people. The CS and locked rear/one way front is solely a drift set up. For example, my DETC410 has a locked front and geared/fluid filled rear, which is idealfor touring. I would probably get a dedicated touring, as it will a lot of work each time to tear down from the drift set up. The Sprint 2 is a decent touring car, but also not ideal, as there's lots of slop in the steering, and overall a heavy car

    Nice thanks for reply. I agree seems like alot of work tear down switch diff & pulleys. Probably look into the DETC410 for my race car. Keep the sprint for drifting fun! I did pick up the aluminum arms, steering & aluminum hubs to tightening it up. I got all the orange gona look sweet. What about a motor setup for DETC410? will the flux 5900kv & vapor esc be good? Also love to see some running vids of your DETC410 that car is soooooo nice!

      The flux motor/esc will be decent for the DETC410, especially if you already have it. You might want to consider a sensored system to reduce the cogging you'll experience with the flux sensorless system. I am running a 5.5t motor in my DETC410

      Hey Eric...I have two Sprint 2 Fluxes. One for speed and one for drifting...and thanks Rich for the pulley drift mod 👍! I did manage to take some of the slop out of the steering for my speed runs. So far I hit 76mph with no steering issues and that's running a straight line. So it should work for you on a track. The aluminum steering upgrade helps but doesn't get rid of the slop. RPM rod ends and some pressure on the driver side steering link works. That's if you want to put the work in. I love my sprints because you can hear the crap out of them...I dumped the 48p gears. Lol!

    Looks great..only thing I would of done differently would be to use a round file not a flat one..the round edge would be stronge than the square one.

    they make a kit for like $108 that I was looking at. came with knuckles and chubs, rear knuckles, front and rear arms, steering rack, front and rear CVD's.
    www.asiatees.com/display?id=50932&brand=HPI&model=Sprint 2. Glad to see you're going with the Raybrig lol

      Thanks Capt! Yeah, I saw that kit too, but then AsiaTees dropped it from thier site when I was looking. I didn't want the GPM universals, so I think I was better off ordering seperate.

      I use a couple. My main one is a Spektrum DX3r-Pro. Most of my race rigs are linked to it. I also have a DX2s and a DX2e along with an HPI RTR radio. All work great, just depends on your budget. I also have my eye on the MT4 from airtronics. at $199, it's a great radio

    What springs should i use to raise my ride height so i can do some rally stuff? I have pirelli rally tires which should raise the height a little but if you know of any springs that be cool!

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  9 років тому

      Mario Ulmer Stiffer ones......Have you dialed down the spring adjuster on the stocks? (or added the clips?) Check out AsiaTees in the Sprint 2 section, they have srping kits for $10 or so from various makers (GPM, Boom, etc) Not a fan of the Boom stuff, but they can't screw up springs too much

    • @marioulmer4397
      @marioulmer4397 9 років тому

      Yeah I haven't done anything with the dampers or screws, I've got a full yeah raving hop up kit coming in the mail and I was gonna make a custom 07 Subaru impreza rally car with a custom roll cage and all that
