It's really good to hear from someone who is a little older and mindful of what is needed as you move toward financial independence. So many utubers are very young and only interested in growth stocks or strongly favor low-dividend stocks that are growing their dividend. That's all good, but if you are in retirement, you don't want to hear about a stock that yields 1% and will pay a decent dividend in 20 years.
A lot of news have been going on about a rally after the election, urging investors to watch out for stocks that would be experiencing significant growth. Any idea which stocks to put on my watchlist?
Elon Musk has been a huge part of the campaign so, energy and cars among others if Trump wins, but who knows, the market has been a basket of surprises lately, it's better to abide by professional guidance
Such uncertainties are the reason I don’t base my judgement on a ''heresay'' 2020 had me holding trash stocks, but thankfully revamp my portfolio through the aid of a pro before seeing significant gains. To date, I've scaled up nearly 320% ROI. it's been 4 years and counting. I and my advisor are working on a 7 figure ballpark goal and we're not far.
good gains! does your advisr work with any specific persons? I once saw on the news folks that made fortunes from the Dotcom crash, as well as the 08’ crash and I’ve been looking into similar opportunities in this present markt
I’m cautious about giving specific recommendations as everyone's situation varies. You may consider independent financial advisors like 'Annette Christine Conte" I've worked with her for over 4 years now and I'd gladly commend her exemplary service on a public post.
glad to have stumbled upon this, curiously inputted her on the web, easily spotted her consulting page and was able to schedule a call session. Ive seen commentary about advisers but not this phenomenal
Counterintuitively, Trump and the 'drill baby drill' mentality may actually cause oil stocks to decline. Oil prices aren't high at the moment, and there's no supply shortage. More oil coming online means lower oil prices, less profits and therefore declining stock prices. I'm fairly heavy in oil; I'm not scared but rather slightly cautious but not expecting a huge returns either.
Ian, can you speak to the PE ratio of Realty Income Corp (ticker: O). At 54, it seems overpriced by 2-4x. I'd like some more exposure to real estate in my portfolio, but I can't justify even taking a look at it. Was wondering what your take is as a shareholder- how do you justify it to yourself to buy at these PE ratios? Is the company really poised to grow THAT much? I feel like I'm missing something here, and I know you're a long-time shareholder. Thanks and keep up the great work!
On Jan 2, 2024 Zacks said to buy WGS at 2.64 and hold and now it is 76 but they never say when I should sell it. On August 1st, 2024 they said buy DRUG at 1.15 and hold, and now it is 50 but they never say when to sell it so do I keep holding both or sell both? If you had 4000% gains in 3 months what would you do?
I think we will get our chance to buy CVX at lower prices. Energy was the worst performing sector during the last Trump administration, as supply was greatly increased. OK by me, I look forward to adding shares and growing income!
I've tried investing before, but it didn’t go as planned. With the markets reacting to Trump's return, the dollar spiking, and fixed income dropping, I’m thinking ETFs might be a more reliable option. What are the best 5 ETFs for a beginner looking to invest a lump sum?
In no order: 1) VOO 2) QQQM 3) SCHG/VUG 4) VTI 5) SCHD/DGRO. Personally I put down 1.2m$ on few ETFs, still diversifying. it was this time last year I made my first break through with a liquid 370k. Handed it to a trader here in TX, I get weekly pay out which I put back on long term ETF's. Tesla will be a huge buy for me when the market bottoms.
Drill, baby, drill, Ian. I loaded up on XOM, MPLX, EPD, and ET before the election anticipating a Trump victory. Now it's paying off. I do like the Realty (O) Income so I may add to my position in the coming days.
Thanks for sharing, Chris! And, thanks for being here since the early days! I've got some of those very names on my watchlist. I could stand to have a (much) higher allocation to the energy sector. Wishing you all the greatest! (Disc: I'm long O)
I remember you talked a bit about VTRS years ago, and its price jumped 14%.yesterday. What's your opinion on it now that RFK Jr. is going to "fix" food and medicine?
I bought HSY after your last video. Now, it went down more than $10 per share. I know you mentioned it is for the long term. Hope it goes back to high again.
Historically, they have been well-diversified. Yes, about 3.3% is leased to Walgreens (and Walgreens is closing stores), but I also believe that the pharmacy/convenience store is not going away (it's a service to the community that is needed). Meaning: They should be able to backfill those locations with another tenant. And, WBA is still public and able to raise capital, so even if they close stores, they have the ability to make good on their leases, to my knowledge. I will also have to take a look at ADC. Thanks for sharing! (Disc: I'm long O)
I guess I love what I do! I stayed up very late to get this video done, and today I'm exhausted. But, I do it for the community. All of the comments mean the world to me, too. Wishing you a great one!
I LOVE defense stocks, and LMT is my favorite. Yes, Trump is a peace President, but he believes in a strong military, such as Reagan's Peace Through Strength mentality. Unfortunately, our military has fallen behind under Biden, so Trump will spend to build our military back up, benefitting defense stocks.
I know that facts don't matter too much nowadays, but the Biden defense budget was 14% higher than the Trump defense budget, and a similar increase during the next administration is expected. Of course this will be financed by an increasing budget deficit, but I don't think a Republican administration has ever been concerned about the budget deficit since Eisenhower.
I’ve been out if the market since having to liquidate between financial hardship and being out of work for a surgery. What better way to prepare to get started on my journey again than binging my favorite dividend investor while I wait to free up some investing cash!
Thank you, my friend, for being here. I am sorry to hear about your financial hardship and surgery. I am happy to hear you are back on your journey! Dividend stocks are always here, so it’s important to take care of those more important things first… Many thanks for your comment, and God Bless You, my friend. I’m rooting for you, and you got this!!!
Great video Ian many thanks. I would like to get back into CVX at some point for sure. Have you noticed HII (Huntington Ingalls). I know you’re a big RTX guy, as am I. But I think this one deserves some attention. It’s down 28% off of its 3 month high, has predictable cash flows (constant new contracts from the Navy), and is significantly undervalued. I love buying aerospace defense with 30% + margins of safety (my last tranche of RTX was at $72 last October). I’m Long RTX, HII.

Ian, long time follower. Appreciate your perspective and insight. I’ve reinvested by msft and nvda dividends for the passed 5 years along with companies like marathon petroleum and AT&T. The growing debt I’ve kept on buying gold, silver, and bitcoin as a barbell. What would consider a barbell approach to dividend investing and have you done any yourself…besides real estate 😂
The ETF SRET was down with the other REITs so I'm definitely curious to get a confirmation if spending causing inflation and higher interest rates is the reason.
Thanks for sharing! I do think the REITs tend to trade based on the bond market/cost of capital. Will be interest to see if rates settle down a bit, from here. I'm selfishly hoping rates go up, as I would love to add to O. Wishing you all the greatest. (Disc: I'm long O)
Great WIN!! Ian, would love to hear your thoughts comparing CVX to OXY. Also, any bitcoin ETF plays in mind? With the new economy and inflation at all time high, I cannot think of reasons not to peak an eye out for crypto / crypto related ETFs like MSTR.
O is looking attractive lately I may buy more of this one I'm still putting money into schd and dgro each month I would invest in these regardless of who is in the government i don't own divo but I do have qdvo and idvo both pay a higher income than divo
Thank you so much for sharing! Great thoughts and insights. I'm hoping O keeps trending down here, as I really want to buy more! For me, SCHD is a no-brainer no matter what's happening in the political landscape. Wishing you a great one! (Disc: I'm long O and SCHD. I plan to buy DIVO.)

Yes, indeed. I am definitely against taxes on unrealized gains, no matter how high an investor's net worth. Just my personal opinion, of course, but that concept could really damage the stock market as a whole. (Which, ultimately, takes away opportunity from the everyday person.)
I am Canadian, the oil will not be going to us, all car will be electric by 2026 or 2027. The gas stations have already converted by at least 50% by now into coffee shop. My guess it will stay in the US.
Honestly, worked until midnight to get the video done. It’s probably because I was extremely tired. I do my best. I do the videos because I love the community. That is really the reward for me, as the ad revenue is low. I really am trying to be non-controversial. I respect all elected officials, including VP Harris. Wishing you all the best!
Yes!! I was looking forward to your post-election outlook. The sky is the limit with the incoming Trump administration! Can't wait to see what the next 4 years have in store 🇺🇲
Thanks for sharing. I had not heard of ET before, but that looks like a really juicy yield. I'll have to dig deeper and learn more. I'm also bullish on energy here!
Please watch the video. I do not take political sides in the video, but share how certain stocks may perform differently under Trump’s expected policies. I’m team USA and team dividend investing.
People who value tradtional family values but who voted for Trump are the biggest hypocrites. 😂 what else does a person have to do before people question his character? The silver lining is he will never be able to run again.
Ian, please help me understand why folks are missing how tariffs have made this nation great over the past several decades. Fifty years ago I graduated from a Tech school and worked in the high-tech field. At the time there were few Tech companies in which to get jobs. It wasn't long until tariffs were added to foreign Tech and the nation blossomed. Many new Tech companies came to America to get around the tariffs. This caused a huge Tech boom, millions of new jobs, and a decrease in the cost of Tech. The same happened with the auto industry. Tariffs are a useful tool to renegotiate bad deals and drive the costs of things down. Folks forget the government is the reason why so many products here in the US cost more than their counterparts in other nations. Trump is famous for removing red tape, and driving down the costs of doing business by lowering the government BS & taxes on corporations. Don't forget the Trump Tax cuts which he enacted and are about to sundown which I bepvie Trump will make permanent. Driving more costs of business down. So, tariffs are a negotiating tool and I feel most of the so-called economists hate Trump and need to get clicks. We have over 50 years of data to show they help make America great. Too many of these folks either are clueless or simply wish to cast shadows on Trump.
Great insights! Thanks for sharing! I especially agree with your thoughts on the tax cuts. The continuation of those corporate tax cuts would be huge! Regarding tariffs, I do like your thought that they are for negotiation. If implemented, I personally think they could increase prices in the short-run (someone has to pay the tax). But, long-run, anything is possible. We’ll have to see it play out, but I hope you’re right that the tariffs are a net positive! Thanks for sharing!
Tariffs will tank the average American. Job will not come back because US labor is not educated enough, when they are educated enough they want way more salary or who want to go the work. EPA will get crushed poisoning the US people with cutting red tape. The US is NOT a construction nation but a services nation so companies can move to the US. Tariffs sound good for negotiations all it does it cost consumers more and those outside companies will cut their costs and they will just let tariffs hit them for consumers to pay.
We get tired of politics being introduced into every video - superhero movie reviews, real estate videos, stock market conversations. Our philosophy is we make money no matter who’s in office. Please, leave the politics at home so that we can stay subscribed.
Thanks for sharing! I 100% agree that dividend stocks do great no matter who's in office. I've been long dividend stocks for most of my adult life. I'm 100% team USA, and I stand behind whoever the people elect. I try to stay away from "taking sides" in my videos. I do believe, however, that the policies of the administration in power can affect the values of different stocks. As a value investor, I like to find pockets of opportunity that align with discounts. In the video today, I'm just trying to describe where I see possible value with Trump taking over, as his policies may differ from what we have seen over the last 4 years. I hope this helps clarify my objective. All are welcome here, and I do not take sides. Thanks for your comment!
@@ppcian I did notice that at the end of the video. I've been in the market since 1978, and my family has been in the market since 1945. And, I watch your channel with my kids to try to help them understand the concepts that I am trying to teach about investing. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks! They are also in the video description/timestamps if anyone wants to zoom in on a specific stock discussed. (Disc: I’m long PFE, O, CVX, SCHD, RTX, and JNJ)
@@ppcian I know some out that info into the description, but MANY watchers are way too lazy to look.
You are missing great dividends from natural gas & oil midstream companies and ETFs of same as well from oil & natural gas producers.
A REAL close call on the tax on unrealized capital gains^^
Yes, indeed. I am definitely against taxes on unrealized gains, no matter how high an investor's net worth. Just my personal opinion, of course, but that concept could really damage the stock market as a whole. (Which, ultimately, takes away opportunity from the everyday person.)
DIVO is a great one
Yes, sir! I'm really excited to add it. Finally, a covered call ETF that makes sense for me! (Disc: I plan to add DIVO)
I am Canadian, the oil will not be going to us, all car will be electric by 2026 or 2027. The gas stations have already converted by at least 50% by now into coffee shop. My guess it will stay in the US.
Thanks for sharing! I also think US could export to other countries like China and India.
If you can say president Trump why can't you say VP Harris instead of Harris?
Honestly, worked until midnight to get the video done. It’s probably because I was extremely tired. I do my best. I do the videos because I love the community. That is really the reward for me, as the ad revenue is low. I really am trying to be non-controversial. I respect all elected officials, including VP Harris. Wishing you all the best!
Yes!! I was looking forward to your post-election outlook. The sky is the limit with the incoming Trump administration! Can't wait to see what the next 4 years have in store 🇺🇲
Should be about the same as Germany in the 1940s
Lockheed has the highest yield of defense contractors last time i checked.
Thanks for sharing! LMT has been on my watchlist forever. One day, I may own it!
I just added some O while watching this at 56.67 lol
Thanks for sharing! And, thanks for watching! (Disc: I’m long O)
Great job on video 😊
I appreciate it, my friend! Thanks for being here since the early days!!!
QQQI has a higher dividend than DIVO
TRUMP 2024!!!
Thanks for being here all these years, my friend! You are one of the early subscribers, and it means a lot!
PEP will have to deal with RFK
Yes! I do believe so. That is a risk factor for my portfolio. (Disc: I’m long PEP)
Trump! Trump! Trump! I am adding to $ET and $ET positions.
Thanks for sharing. I had not heard of ET before, but that looks like a really juicy yield. I'll have to dig deeper and learn more. I'm also bullish on energy here!
It’ll be a big push for EV over oil. Just ask Musk
Thanks for sharing! Valid point! (Personally, I think both can thrive in parallel, but I could be wrong.)
sell AT&T while its up and move to SCHD... hmmm
Trump great for oil stocks!
Ahh crap. You brought politics into your channel. I may have to press pause on this channel until it passes.
Please watch the video. I do not take political sides in the video, but share how certain stocks may perform differently under Trump’s expected policies. I’m team USA and team dividend investing.
CVX!
I really hope to stock does not run up here, as I want to build my position. Wishing you a great day! (Disc: I'm long CVX)
Chevron cooking
Sure is! I hope it doesn't go up too much, too fast, as I hope to add more! (Disc: I'm long CVX)

Thanks for your support!
Getting your money out of the country should be the only strategy you have right now.
When he collapsed oil prices, a lot of companies went bankrupt. See Mr Global

Trump 2024 ❤ our savior is back thank god and thanks Ian for another great video. It’s a great day in the neighborhood 🫶🏻
@@CS-qc7np Wow, you have been investing for quite some time. Very impressive. I truly appreciate your kind words! I truly appreciate you watching with your kids. That means the world. Wishing you all the greatest!
