I always think in the back of my mind... people back in the day GUARANTEED buried / hid treasure all over the place... the "UNDOCUMENTED" treasure mystery appeals to me... war breaks out, sicknesses whatever happens they are the only person who knows about it and they end up in the grave or lost track of it with no other person having knowledge where it would or could be! I try to stay optimistic and think at any point and time we could stumble upon something... gotta love treasure hunting!!

I have metal detected for years and I follow this rule, if treasure is lost at sea you might stand a chance at finding it, but 99 times out of a 100 people who bury treasure know where it is and come back for it. And unless they are stupid they never tell anyone. The better bet I have found is to ask people in rural areas about old cabins and especially reclusive individuals. They do tend to bury money and usually die before digging it up.

I found some, Im chillin and enjoying a quiet life. I piece it out once in a while discreetly, if you find any, dont tell anyone and dont live in a way that attracts attention, always look like you dont have much, keep life simple. One good coin is worth much more than its gold value now. Cover your tracks when you sell and have a plausible story about where you got the item.

The troops that gaurded the train were not just Confederate troops they were Florida Confederate troops. Tallahassee was the only Confederate capital that never surrendered in fact every time the union marched towards Tallahassee they were defeated. Florida was one of the last state's to rejoin the union I believe it was 1868.

Kellyco used to sell spiral-bound books of every State listing by County the alleged treasures rumored to be found in ghost towns, forts, old mines, or legends like these two by the author/owner. Sadly, when Kellyco changed hands, the books were no longer available.

For those in the glades there's an old story about capone on loop rd in the glades off 41. If anyone is interested in the story let me know.

@Dat Baby Cherokee hey, so capone had property and houses in Miami but he had a hide out on loop road. One day capone and his gang where at that hideout and law enforcement knew about it. So they blocked loop road's both exits. After an exchange of gun fire capone and his gang went off the road and got away in another vehicle they had stashed, made it back to 41 and got away. Capone was carrying 100k cash wrapped in nylon plus some cases of liquor. After getting away capone told the news paper about it and said anyone who can find it can have it. This is a true story not a myth or possibly. This was also confirmed by capone himself. Look at the map and find loop rd if you don't already know where it is. If you can't find it let me know. Somewhere in between loop rd and 41 is where the car would be. It's not a big area but there are rumors capone ditched the car in a swamphole he had set up. So yea . The car is there but extremely challenging

@@rtbkbulliesandpitbulls1714 wheres your source for the story?? I'm looking everywhere, even on the miami history website and no records are showing anything that sounds close to what you're saying. Just sounds like an urban legend

I have alot of questions, especially knowing that the union never occupied Florida during the civil war.

Ive read the same thing.. AND I'm a good researcher, but "I" cannot locate the origin of the first story. So, WHERE is this [as YOU say] "documented" statement found? Again, I cannot find anything.
O.. it ISN'T in.. 'Flight Into Oblivion'.
    Thanks.

Yea, there's DeLeon springs. People have claimed to seen a chest at the bottom of a spring head but have not been able to retrieve it. It has since been covered up with silt and debris. Some where in DeLeon Springs.

@@johnathoncastro yea I heard of that long ago, I think the story says when they tried to lift it out it fell deeper in the spring. But with all the cave divers it should've been found by now
