When I first beat Valstrax and saw all the skills, I thought to myself that the slots HAD to be shit. When I saw the slots I instantly started to farm Val
Idk whet you use but it’s great for narwa/Ibushi. Though I’m not sure about the final boss. Haven’t checked it’s page yet.
Quite disappointed though, since we won't be getting new monsters for like three months or so, this makes it a bad endgame gear compared to something like MH World's Fatalis Armour.
I'm not saying I hate it--I still love it, it's just that I hope it could be a lot better

@@user-bp9cz7dw5n You seem to forget that we had months of Deviljho end game during vanilla world, we didn't get true end game until IB. This is still base Rise, calm down.
You got to remember that Fatalis was the final monster for a Master Rank (G rank) EXPANSION and currently Valstrax is a high rank endgame monster. In world's equivalent, not counting behemoth with was a collab monster, the closest equivalent was Deviljho.
Mhgu players will easily notice the huge buff this armor obtained: you had to be at 2/3 of your health for dragon heart to activate and now it's only at 80% that's huge
Not sure how much that matters, considering how hard many of these monsters can hit you.
Didn't the armor also make you never run out of stamina?? Or am I missing something?

@@DeadlockDrago if you fully upgrade it with armorshperes you get a rediculous amount of defense which when paired with the 50 to all resistances the effect gives you makes it so nothing in this game should be killing you in one shot from 70%-80% health.
@@chrisbarrera7202 yeah we also had attack medium consisting in about attack lvl 4 in this game, so the armor lost 2 skills but both dragon heart and the new resentment skill on it kinda make up for that
I'm finding Valstrax is the one monster that my success rate shoots way up when playing solo... with fortify. In groups it's not uncommon to lose even if I never cart, but Solo he always get at least one on me. I love the fight and his armor, I'm sure myself and others will get better at it with time.
Come prepared for Valstrax. I see alot of carts in the opening moments of the fight. We have hunters zooming straight to the fight with out taking the thirty seconds to grab some spiribirds only to get destroyed.
I specifically choose frost islands because its a nice run down the middle to grab the needed buffs without showing up too late.
Spiribirds won't make much of a difference facing Valstrax, having learnt what moves to expect of him will. The first two days of him being in the game people (me included for some of that time) carted left and right during that fight but it's a lot better now.
People should just use divine blessing lvl3 whenever they face a new monster
@@user-fr1ys2wn4t seems like a Stretch to me. No one will sacrifice that much of a build for divine blessing. Just eat for Moxie and all is fine
Dragonheart isn't a skill.
It's a lifestyle.
Is 1 a large number? In terms of Zenny. No.
In terms of Valstrax Orbs? Yes.
I've had terrible luck in this game so far, but today i failed 3 valstrax hunts and got 3 orbs. I feel like i need to take a shower...
In my first hunt, I picked up the shiny that dropped in its last location.. it was an orb. I got the jackpot when I haven't even seen it yet.
Ich got 3 in one hunt (shiny, breake-reward and cat) you just seem to be very unlucky. I’m sorry for you
It's funny because in the very first Valstrax hunt the tail cut just gave me an orb right there.
I've been getting insanely lucky with my Plates and Gems, actually. (Just got a Zinogre plate from a random shiny drop. I didn't even know Zinogre was in the quest until then.)
I've weirdly had good luck with all the recent elder dragons, from narwa to Teo, kushala, chameleos and Valstrax I got all their gems/orbs first try
I thought Almudron was stingy with his orb but Valstrax is on a whole different level
I got mine in like 3-4 hunts
Everyone died to his dive bomb on my first attempt but I cut the tail and got the orb. On my second try I got the kill and got another orb as a reward. Anjanath is on a different level for me.

Three hunts later and I got five. Enough orbs already, I need spineshells dammit!

This is such a throwback, one of the first Arekkz videos I watched was the review of the GU valatrax armor set ❤️
I got the orb pretty early and went for the Gunlance immediately. I love that Gunlance's design so much! You're pretty much wielding the wings the way Valstrax use to shoot the beam. When I get my next orb, I'm totally going for the Insect Glaive.
The armour skills are nice with plentiful slots, but I'm not really the type to trade damage for powerups, so I don't know if I'll make a build around Valstrax set...but I probably will try making one to go with the Great Sword's Rage Slash or something.
The endemic life is worth going out of your way to pick up if you’re getting carted with 2 or 3 hits.
Very people actually go around to pick up the endemics and spiribirds, and I don’t understand why. They’re pretty much crucial in HR, unless you’re Team Darkside. Lol.

@@ilovemonkeyos Less crucial I'd say, but they basically are a built in difficulty slider. Usually I fill about half my HP and and DEF with maxed out ATK, but the 3.0 content is starting to be difficult enough for me to think about grabbing some more birds now and then.

IMMEDIATELY switched out my layered armour for this set! Looks super clean
My gathering palico coming through with the pilfer and plunder once again for those rare orbs and gems.
Glad to see there's enough slots for rapid morph. I main switch axe but this set seems fun and usable across most if not all weapons. Super excited to make it.
Awesome! Those gloves will match nicely with teostra’s helm for a crit build hehe. Btw, could u make a video with narwa and ibushi’s armor and weapons? The weapons seem to buff when u use the armor, so it would be nice to see if it’s worth it 😁 (on a side note, Rakna-kadaki got some amazing weapons! Gonna try its lbg)

Man, Dragonheart is friggin AWESOME this time around! Only regret is that there's not decorations for it yet, but hey at least the full set is still sweet lol
I was lucky and got the Orb in the first hunt and enough materials to just make the SnS in one go. It might be my go too SnS for a long while. The white sharpness is very nice and it pairs well with a Mastery decoration if you know the monsters weak spot. Also added the extra attack upgrade to it.
I was able to pick up a shiny that was an Orb the first time I fought him. That was pretty cool
I got incredibly lucky with Orbs on my first hunt of this lad. Graced me with 3 of them to spend on those legs and the Greatsword. May even try to build a Glaive set with my Crit eye 2 with a 2 and 1 slot and masters touch gemmed in.
The play style of get hit to reap the rewards is a little uncomfy to me since my reaction is to reach for the mega pots after a big hit but it does feel nice seeing elements just bounce off you lol
I really love the sharpness on the weapons, white to red is super neat
Love the Valstrax HH, the buffs are pure offensive. Also design looks sick!

Yeah... the raw sucks ass tho. DB and maybe SnS are good. Cant say anything about the bowguns/bow cause i dont use them.

As a fellow SnS main a cool combo if you don't know it. If you're in perfect rush once it starts you can hit A through the damage procs and end perfect rush with a spinning reaper. Immediately after the reaper you can backstep into another perfect rush and constantly loop it. Big damage on a stunned monster. Take care dude! Sword and shields mains UNITE!

Made and upgraded the Hunting Horn (my main) after the first encounter with him. Hunted him 2 more times after, forged the layered armor set (I'm trying to acquire all layered armor pieces for my Hunter and eventually my palico & palamute) and then started doing the other quests from this new update. The armor will be my next focus.
Very good set for narga weapons to take advantage of wex.
Built a long sword set with it.
Along with the sets abilities I added speed sharpening x3, attack boost x4, quick sheath x3, critical boost x3.
Actually pretty decent.
The weapons on the other hand yield no affinity and would Go very well with sets that focus on that attribute.
(Correction....maximum might 3 with the hunting horn could work.)

Hmm good advise about hellfire, that woul basically initiate resuscitate when monster rages.
It doesn't have Distance Runner on it anymore, but Dragonheart looks to have an upgrade now. As someone who uses full sets (Just to kill time I made one mix set to give myself a side project while knocking out quest), I'll enjoy making this a second time as my official Anti-Dragon set.
It's a crime that the valstrax gunlance doesn't do anything special with your blast dash. I mean ok I can understand that they wouldn't actually buff it since it's already amazing but at least make the thing shoot red fire when you rocket around!
while i haven't reached HR100 yet, I know what weapon im going to aim for from CGV, the HH with those beautiful buffs
The gloves themselves are an easy lvl 3 WEX. That is absolutely bonker-donkers.
I got lucky with my orb got it from a dropped material in the middle of the hunt.
Might skip the weapons don't know yet but I do think this armor will go nicely with the Nargacuga weapons.
You already have a maxed Weakness Exploit but pop a not even max level Critical Eye in the mix you get a 100% crit also you can even put the Affinity boost rampage skill on it to lower how much Critical Eye you need.
Pop in Protective Polish level 3 and Speed Sharpener level 3 as well to keep sharpness up.
Only issue though is your going to need find a good talisman that either has 2 points of Protective Polish or 2 points of Critical Eye or the remaining 2 points of resentment with all of them needing at least 2 level 2 slots on it.

Haven't played Rise in like a week, and been using SnS especially since the ninja sword dropped, but that longsword just looks sexy af. Like wow. Need that.
I can finally watch this, I wanted to wait until I beat crimson glow valstrax so I got to experience it myself. I beat my first one today so I thought I’d FINALLY check this out
I can get each tick of my Helmsplitter doing 200+ damage with this armor set and the right added on skills. Pure insanity.
I’ve instantly made full valstrax layered armour and the valstrax armour for the Palico and palimute, and I’ve made a nice set with the valstrax switch axe, absolutely loving it
Lol I was just about to ask how his switchaxe was. Just crafted the full armor set, now deciding what weapon to go for.
@@TheStudio_70 I’m not using the switch axe with the valstrax set, so can’t say how well it works with those skills but with the set I’m using it it’s pretty nice, It’s so weird just having such a massive chunk of white sharpness, helps keep the damage super consistent through the hunt tho

His LBG was awesome for dragon build, both rapid dragon & dragon pierce
Got the orb on my third hunt and made the dual blades as I needed a dragon elemental weapon and want an excuse to play db more, they’ve served me very well.
Even the palamute armor looks sick 👌🏻
Arekkz I was wondering how you felt about only having 3 new fights in the game?
That bossfight was pretty hard I struggled about three times before me and my bud finally got it. Love the bullet hell type fight though it's lots of fun.
I have 20 of these things killed so far and it’s probably my favorite monster in the game now. Epic fight and amazing armor
This armor set, and the weapon (using Switch Axe), allowed me to absolutely demolish an Apex Rathalos (not in a Rampage) within 10 minutes. It’a so beautiful.
What decorations did you use? Might use this.
I’m no min-max’er so I’m sure there’s room for improvement on what I use and do. But.

-Defense Jewel 1 (x2)
-Jumping Jewel 2 (x2)

I AM, however, still working on crafting a Master’s Touch decoration or two to throw onto the build as well; likely to replace one of my Charger decos, but we’ll see.

It took me three quests to beat Val, First quest got steamrolled since I didn't no crap about his moves, second one was not as bad but still slammed got thrown an orb after the fail, third one: Broke most of the parts and cut tail. Tail carve was another Orb, on that hunt I was on my last cart and beat him. I appriciate him a lot. Need to learn how to not die from his ambush lol. Probably Counter Peak Performance, but the best bet is probably diving before he deletes you.

And then those slots! I... really was hit by a feeling- I actually wonder if they'll really add anything else at all before the ultimate version.
it just sucks that it comes with the caveat that all elemental and status weapons are downgraded to low tier raw weapons during the special buff due to dragon blight.
elemental weapons are a rough path to commit to in Rise. Too bad I already spent over 100 hours farming the parts to make all the best elemental weapons (farming almudron's golden orb literally stole 1/4 of my life force)

What weapon are you using to beat Valstrax in the video? Doesn’t look like dual blade or long blade or sword and shield type

I'm running full Val with a Quick Sheath 2 Protective Polish 2 neck, and Chameleos LS. It definitely bangs.
Either use Quick Sheathe 1 or Quick Sheathe 3. Quick Sheathe 2 is not worth it.

Ibushi/narwa armor has no slots at all.. And I don't think the skill set increases your talismans either. Useless
how does ibushi/narwa armor works? it has alot of level 1 skills in all of their armor pieces..
@@Gwynsladle after killing allmother you get new materials to improve the narwa/ibushi pieces.
Once done you get a new skill that on lvl 4 improves the skills by +1 and on 5 it does again +1 so by basically having the full armor all lvl 1 skills get +2 for just wearing the full set.

Pigment customisation with this set and almudron's driving me fucking insane. Would've had so much potential.
The Valstrax fight is really fun. Valstrax armor is really good. Unfortunately the weapons are not. The bowguns are extremely bad. Bowguns are over-tuned atm so I was not expecting Valstrax guns to be an upgrade but more like an "acceptable" "side-grade". But they're bad really bad. The melee weapons are basically 50/50 between pretty bad to usable. It looks like Rampage weapons are basically going to be BiS for half of the weapons now. Good thing they added layered weapon skins to Rampage weapons or you wouldn't see anything but Rampage weapons anymore.
I need to get on this, I’m still only at rank 6.
I hardly hunted him in MHGU as I focused on the deviants. I’m going to hunt it to extinction this time round.

I love this set. It and the val weapons are really tailor made to slay other elders. Now i actively get mad at people life powdering me to max hp when i get the dragonheart buff
you know the arms of valstrax armor can help that long sword build teamdarkside made which used teo head barioth chest and arms anja coil and the ingot legs with what ever charm they had equipped to help it work for weakness exploit if i remember so if teamdarkside takes the barioth arms off and put that on they get a alot of open room for some more things to add on to it
and they had two choice's for long sword on that build tigrex and strangely enough at the time before the update was chameleos long sword
got a valstrax orb on my first hunt, had to do 15 ibushis for his orb

god this monster took me 3 tries before i killed it
had a hard time using GS and Hammer so i just went on and used my Ninja Sword set lol

I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out a good build with this armor, or if it's even worth running over what I have already, since I'd be giving up a lot of attack boost for that set bonus. That, and unless you are running the Valstrax weapons with the Soul skill with it, then you can't really make a elemental build with this either
valstrax armor is useful only for pure raw or dragon ele. build.
btw, with some weapon (cb, ls, hh etcc..), it's so strong that SURPASS every crit build done so far by a good margin (50/60 efr if i remember correctly), of course it require strong or very strong charm to do so (4 or 5 equivalent lvl 2 slot), but if u can afford those charms, then 4 or 5 valstrax pieces is the new meta for a lot of builds.

Same I made me a Phoenix Person layered outfit for some Rick and Morty shenanigans using the Gargwa mask.

So I'm grinding to HR 100 to use this set, That high risk high reward playstyle does really speak to me, don't know what I'll gem into it though, I might just see how much attack I can get in there

Since Dragonheart forces weapons to lose all non-dragon effects, does that mean that non-elemental boost will work on them?
I guess with the full armor youre forced to use Dragon elemental weapons or High Attack normal weapons (Probably with a high affinity stat since youre running weakness exploit, Nargacuga weapons will do).

The dragon damage on valstrax weapons isn't affected by dragonblight inflicted by the armor. I tested it.
So far nothing is replacing the night owl for lbg
I'm using the gloves for the lvl 2 element exploit, but still using the previous gun lance armor otherwise
Literally got the Val Orb on the third Run. Thank God it's not a grind like the magna Orb.

Got full armor with upgraded chameleos LS. Skills: speed sharpening 3, quick sheath 3, stun resistance 3, handicraft 2, dragonheart 5, brace, weakness exploit 3, dragon attack 1 , resentment maxed, and resuscitate max. Not meta but pretty fun!
with DH5, res.3, AB4, H2, QS3, PP2(or 3), WE3 and chameleos ls, it become so fucking OP lol i love it.

Just beat final boss. Can’t remember from old games but is it hr50 and then you have to go 50 levels to 100 or is it less like 50 to 65 to 75 or something of that nature

The armor reminds me of MHW Legiana armor.
Valstrax and Almudron buddy armours give you a couple of robots to come along with you XD
