To be fair, it doesn't require that much knowledge of the game's mechanics and player disposition to figure some of these out. I saw that elevator, and I too knew what was going to happen thinking "Oh no... Oh no."

Firstly, he's watching a video on HC deaths, already here you can remove most potential outcomes from a video.
Secondly, if you understand bugs or game mechanics, you can typically infer a range of possibilities.
So, for instance, when he looked at the guy jumping around Duskwood on the road, most deaths occur by Stitches. Then he gets an invite; you understand layering exists, then you lay stitches + layering + death = dead by layering. If you've played WoW as much as Asmongold has, it doesn't take long to lay the figures together. Especially when it comes to gameplay.

just found out about this guy like 4 months ago and ive seen countless hours of his videos since then. Always thought he was funny but what really sealed the deal was when i watched the video of him unbanning people on twitch lmao. "You wanna say all that and now you want me to unblock you?? SUCK A DICK??!!....no thats actually fine ill unblock you.. its not problem...." that video had me dying.

I don’t even play hardcore but whenever I dive underwater I reset the bar constantly even if it barely went down. It doesn’t take that long :/ better safe than sorry

that Ozy death was so unfortunate for him to be right in Somnus' path like that - he was actually using Shadowmeld, but it just wasn't enough to remain undetected - even with stealth, being afk out in the world is still playing with fate

The bug deaths is why I'm probably going to pass on HC Official. Its just not an ideal situation. I don't trust blizzard enough to fix these things considering a lot of those bugs still exist in retail.

bruh these peopl. A BUG IS UNEXPECTED RESULT FROM A GAMEBUILD. Unless wow devs expected this result (z axis mob attacks ), its a bug cause no dev in the world would say it was intentional.

Blizzard should just fix it and say it’s a unintended bug, there is none that thinks the vertical endless hit range is a mechanic the is good, and it’s also something the is not beneficial or abusable

everytime i hear "He's a clicker" i think about my Holy Priest friend who heals me when i tank M+ on my paladin. Man is clicking in +20s and it blows my mind
Layering deaths should be appealable 100% with just some logic. The point is to emulate real life as in 1 life but getting swapped to an alternate universe with a parallel timeline except stitches is right next to you is a bit beyond that. Deaths should be granted an appeal as long as the person playing the character didn't do anything that would lead to their death. Falling off birds and layer swaps with elites mowing you down included.

props to anyone who takes on hardcore classic. classic is already unbelievably slow paced and an unreal grind fest, add on hardcore, wild.
5:45 Mana Shield only absorbs physical damage in Classic, I think. I feel like for Classic hardcore you need to bring all protection potions, first aid 300, and engineering with target dummies with you at all times, lol.
7:25 The most insane example of vertical hits is in Dire Maul East. You know the demon wing where you walk down a spiral staircase to the lower level? Mobs can be down there, like 50 meters below you, and hit you when you are running on the top floor. I had them banished and feared and ran away, and they killed me from 50 meters below or like (effectively) 200 meters walking distance because of the buggy verticality. Guild Wars 1 has the same issue with verticality, by the way. I don't play Retail, so I don't know if it's different there, maybe it's a common flaw with older titles / engines.
18:00 I haven't played wow lately but if it works now as it did in Vanilla this shaman could easily have survived. Back in vanilla when you used sentry totem? (the one where you can see from the totems PoV) the shaman itself would freeze wherever it was... also mid air. So shamans could quite easily jump into ungoro crater etc. The totem only had global CD and had low mana cost. Not so many people knew this back then tho.

I don't get how there can be such major glitches on the official blizzard servers. Today I was annoyed because murlocs in water just evaded everything while hitting me.

When you aggro multiple mobs in Gnomergan you should just leave group and run away, and hope to live lone enough to be teleported out of the instance.

Classic is full of these annoying pathing and environment bugs. Mobs spawn half in, and half out of a tree. A summon gets stuck in the environment. The summoner keeps walking. You aggro summon. A minute later, the summoner appears with 8-12 random friends. These bugs are 1000x worse on a private server.
Quality assurance probably knew about the z-axis bugs but vanilla was such an enormous content release they were probably prioritized as 'not required for launch'.
Blizzard committing to fix, say, 500 of these bugs would give Classic HC a nice bit of extra polish and stop this depressing-as-shit 'subscribed player dying to defect' injustice.
I like how you call it a bug for the mobs hitting him on the elevator going up AS HE'S TRYING TO EVADE BUG THEM SO THEY CAN'T HIT HIM.
He's literally intentionally attempting to abuse a bug. He should have died to those mobs anyway. They had him dead to rights if there wasn't a bug preventing them from getting onto the elevator.
These people saying "no changes" and "its designed that way" probably aren't even playing hardcore wow. (Probably not even playing wow at all if i had to guess) I guarantee if they did, and they died to some bs like some of these people, theyd be malding HARD. Theyd probably write blizzard a 5000 word essay about how they need to change the game or it'll drive away players 😂 they just wanna be assholes n watch people die to stupid bugs, thats the only reason theyre saying no to fixing bugs 100%. And if they are playing hardcore n saying that then theyre just classic andys stuck in the past because their life sucks at 40 years old and they have to cling to an old games stupid systems to make themselves feel like it mattered.
I will never ever, EVER in my life, play WoW Classic Hardcore. Only because I've had enough of useless deaths over the course of 16 f-ing years, in every single expansion, due to bugs, glitches, poor design and coding, not very well thought through map designs, dependencies, disconnects, clipping, etc, etc. Then there's the one in a million coincidences you simply can't plan for because it shouldn't even be possible to begin with. Whoever came up with this idea at Blizz, wasn't doing so to propose new content. This person hates other people and their free time and personal hobbies, so they do their best to take that away from you as well. Don't play this nonsense, do something more useful with your time. Something which yields you real life rewards, fulfills goals and gives your life true meaning and purpose. This is some next-gen zombie-generating game, it's not even WoW.
I recently did the entirety of BRD at level 54 as a ret paladin (leveling spec) as the tank, and had no issues tanking everything, nobody died, totally smooth run. It wasn't hardcore, because think HC is stupid, but fundamentally its the same content, and I do not understand how people are wiping in that dungeon if an out of spec plate wearer can tank everything and its not even close. I would say we speed ran the whole thing too. I never stopped so healer or DPS could drink.
Burning crusade dungeons are WAY harder than anything in classic, even on normal mode. I didn't have any issues tanking until BC, even with nearly BIS leveling gear from classic.

Bug that hurts the player experience:
We cannot fix these bugs that frustrate and are bad for the players. It's impossible.
Bug that is beneficial to the players:
Fixed within 30 minutes even though it was something deep in the coding that they had to reverse engineer and literally pick apart layers an layers of code to address. Roll back the servers, punish people who benefited from the bug even unintentionally. Lead Dev puts out a statement basically telling the players who benefited from the bug that they are shit cancer people for exploiting the game.
"f*cking legend" "well palyed"? That mage literally did everything wrong, he simply lived cause the class is way more forgiving with misusing all your spells. He could have jsut walked past the mob and evo, or if he accidentally pulled it then atleast nova him too and then evo, that 1 tick is the 2nd worst use of this spell. These clips make me madge -__-
16:54 You don't need to have played this for more than a few minutes to know that was going to go poorly. Even if you didn't know about the ghost wolf's movement speed bonus, which anyone who has run next to a shaman should, you *had* to have seen how tough the jump was.
But he wasn't paying attention, asked how he got over there, and the guy didn't say "I barely made it, don't try". He just let him fall.

Looking at these mage deaths or near deaths has me shaking my head. Like why are you even fighting mobs with no mana gem up? Why isn't dampen magic up, it's not like you're in a group and reducing healing received. The clicking is another thing. WoW and especially mage in vanilla has so many instant cast abilities that clicking is insane with how slow it is.
Asmon hit it on the head last video when he talked about why are people in these situations to begin with? If your buffs, positioning, pulling, etc is bad you're just setting yourself up to die. It makes sense on non hardcore to skip mobs so you can save some time but slow and steady wins the race in HC.
I play this game called RISK Global Domination and whenever my opponents do everything correctly I'm actually very happy about it. Just people using their brain in a game of any genre is a beautiful sight to behold.
Nah, layer deaths shouldn't be excused, youre literally accepting an invite while walking along the path of patches, you conciously choose to to accept that invite knowing layering exists.

Yep. The game sucks. World of warcraft was never fixed for HC gameplay. You can just walk in castles, ships and army of monsters start heading towards player. When yyou try to get away they hit through obstacles or floor.
First time I encountered Stitches, I was like "who' this?' then dead. And I still click, and have nothing wrong with doing it. I've adjusted gameplay accordingly. Yes, it can be done Asmon. Too old to attempt keybinds.
why WoW/Blizzard doesn't have a system that tells you that you are going to a different layer when joining a different group ? almost every game that use layers have that system and some don't teleport you even when join a group unless you click by yourself switch layer or teleporting to leaders layer ...
how do people chose to be a clicker? reaction time is hindered, ability to move your camera or move character with mouse is gone while going in for a click, your eyes move away from important things while you move your mouse to click on a spell. people actively chose to make themselves worse? why?
its like paddles on a gamepad, why lift your thumb off the stick you aim with so that you can jump when you can use a paddle on the back and jump with a finger that isn't being used and still maintain full control to aim at the enemy.

editors need to make a short of the ghost wolf jump clip, and right after asmon says 'fucking idiot' edit esfand tricking asmon by using a speed pot to make a jump :)

On layering... just make sure you go stand in a town before you accept an invite? Accepting an invite in a cave or on the main road in Duskwood is asking for trouble.

Im honestly curious, is there a different hardcore challange where you try to get to 60 without keybinds?
Its pretty crazy, but so many people never find out that keybinding is a thing. Or they just don't bother. I remember back in the day, I went from Wotlk all the way to MoP without keybinding because I was too lazy to relearn shit. I got so fast with keyboard turning and button clicking that a friend of mine who was a gladiator-level player literally didn't know I keyboard turned and clicked until I told him.
After he forced me to finally switch to keybinding and I got past the first couple weeks of relearning how to play however, it was like a whole new world was opened to me
people blaming all these "bugs" on vanilla remember that classic i like based on the shadowlands retail patch, if you see a bug in classic its still in retail, the mobs likely behave a bit differently
those "bugs" make hc exciting and "hard". it's fine to me. what is not fine to me, those **** layering **** which has no place to be there at all.
