Cookies and Cream Pound Cake 🍰 |

- Recipe ingredients below ....
For the cake:
2 sticks salted butter, softened
8 Tbs butter flavored shortening (can substitute with 1 stick of butter)
8 oz cream cheese, softened
3 c sugar
5 eggs, room temperature
3 c cake flour
1 c milk or half n half, room temperature
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla extract ( I use Mexican vanilla)
15-20 crushed Oreos, or more
For the icing:
1 1/2 c powdered sugar
2 Tbs heavy whipping cream
2 Tbs milk or water
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 pinches of salt
Bake on 325 Fahrenheit for 1hr 15 mins or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Just came out of the oven.. And I gotta say. This cake is crazy! The batter was already silky and pillowly. Followed your instructions. Going to let it cool and ice it tomorrow for the family cookout. I will say, I added French Vanilla Creamer instead of Milk or Half & Half. But thank you so much!! 🥰

Hi queen, I tuned in for the first time this weekend, saw this cake, and made it for my son & daughter-in-love who share the same bday. My cake did stick to the pan. I thought I put a lot of cooking spray as you suggested, but apparently not enough. I quickly searched on on utube on how to unstick it. Anyway, their suggestion worked for the most part, and the frosting covered the rest. Lol. The flavor and texture of the cake were very good, but next time I would add more crushed Oreo’s to the batter- Just a personal preference though. Thnx for sharing! Have a very blessed Christmas!

Coat the pan with almond flour or just regular flour after you spray the bunt Pan it will prevent the cake from sticking .... but this cake recipe is nice👍

I have that same pan and it works better with Crisco lard and real flour instead of the sprays.

I usually put butter in the cake pan & splash some flour in there before I add the cake batter so it won’t stick. 🤦🏾♀️ I have a cake pan that does this too.

Yes it should
Keeping cake in the refrigerator alters the taste. You may get an extra two days of freshness (7 instead of 5), but it's just not worth it. You're better off freezing the whole cake. Don't glaze it before you freeze it, unless you're using a glaze or frosting that hardens. Wrap the cake really good in plastic wrap, then wrap it in foil and put it the freezer. When you're ready to use it, let it un-thaw in the fridge overnight. Take it out on the morning and let it get to room temp, then apply your glaze. It will be as fresh and moist as the day you baked it. You can also freeze individual slices. Wrap each slice in plastic wrap, then foil. Place each slice in a ziplock bag and then put the slices in a ziplock container with a lid. Un-thaw the same way as a whole cake.

I would let it sit for 10min. Flip and let it sit for another 5min. Also try using a basting brush to make sure the bakers joy gets coated into the grooves well. Just a suggestion. Peace.

I have that same pan and it's my least favorite cake pan. I thought I did something wrong because my cakes kept sticking. The box cakes don't really stick but my scratch cakes do. Your cake looks delicious btw!

I'm not an oreo person but my son wants me to make it and I am going to give it a try. Question if I'm using salted butter do I still the salt and should I add the salt and baking powder in with the flour or when. Thank God for sharing and I will be waiting for your next video
Yes, if you use salted butter you will still add salt to it. And you should add it to the flour with the baking powder.

What if I don’t have a mixer
I know this video is a yr old but here gos. Don't get rid of your bundt pan 😊Use cake goop to grease your pans,very easy to make... mix together equal parts shortening,flour and oil and brush onto your cake pans just like you would the nonstick spray ..put in an air tight container and store in your cabinet.
JP from Miami try to make your own pan grease cheaper and is better. You have a really good show I’m going to make it it looks good. I’d love to sell that here in Miami but I don’t know the people are weird here.

Any recommendations on oven temperature or time? I baked mine at 325 for 1hour & 20 minutes when the tooth pick was clean & the outside looks burn so its hard
It depends on your oven….I only had mine in there for 1h 15 mins
After greasing your pan add flour to it . It wont stick anymore

Why did you use shortening?
It makes the cake moist
I've made the cake several times. My icing doesn't come out as white as yours and I go step by step I've let it cool off 10 mins than applied icing but it's like it melted from the heat. Than I've made it and let the cake cook completely down and it still doesn't turn out like yours. The cake itself always is good though.
You may need to add more powdered sugar to get it a little thicker and whiter so that it won’t melt into the cake. Let me know if that helps! Sorry for the late response 😩
