Since bella has mental shield, she can block the signals from reaching her brain. So even if kate touches bella directly she wont feel a thing(?) 🤷🏻♀️ as for jasper’s power it only affects the hormones in the body. ((lmao idk if that makes sense to u but this is from my own understanding ahahahaah))
Jasper was probably a cognitive empath in life considering his physical manipulation of emotions and personality type. He was not an emotional empath. It does make me wonder if he did not have the ability to feel emotions as a himan due to being a thinking type and that is why his ability is so hard on him.
There are a few exceptions , like Alice's visons, jasper's emotion control. Theory is she's immune to powers that cause the illusion of something and her mind being a shield, so Edward can't read her, Jane and Alec can't effect her as it's an illusion. Whereas jasper's effects the overall atmosphere and Alice's has nothing to do with Bellas mind hence their abilities still work
Bella’s power protects her from mental powers, like Edward’s abilities. It doesn’t protect her from physical things, like Jasper’s control over emotions. He can control endorphin levels (which is physical), hence she can’t protect herself. Sorry if this is long or if it doesn’t make sense

Yeah his abilities are underutilized and underrated.
He RARELY uses his mood powers (Pathokinesis). This is one of the few times in the whole series he uses them.
It’s crazy cause I didn’t even notice that you can literally hear him using them and then stopping once Alice walks away 😮 wow!
