He won over 20 titles on all surfaces, reached #2 in the world (twice) and was only behind Pete Sampras with his success at Wimbledon in the 90’s, well deserved
He is right. It wasn't easy being a fan of Goran:) Nevertheless, I have not been as loyal a fan to anyone in sports, as I was to him. Maybe because he never quite made it until the very last go. He was the man. Vulnerable, emotional and an absolute Tennis genius. I cried with him in 2001 and he deserves this induction more than anyone. Congratulations Goran
Main reason is a lot of people dont really care if your a Serbian or a Croat, im from Jugoslavia and if you ask a lot or people were not bothered by either/or
@@TheDragon1986z13happy to hear that. I am not from Yugoslavia but I spent some time in those contries and I am sad when I feel hate between former brothers
Of all the disappointments he had been through in Wimbledon finals, Goran Ivanesavic had finally conquered his own quest. A Wimbledon championship. And I still have the video tape of the entire match that I recorded.
I am your fan and what a ride you've given us all. Because you were a character, you were fallible, you were a genius, you were competitive, you were fragile and strong all at once. It was a joy watching you play because you never knew which you was going to turn up. And then in 2001 your dream came true. And ours. It was a pleasure watching you play and a pleasure watching you collect this award. The Crazy Croat - if only we could explain to people now how much. Thankyou for all of it...
Goran.. Its the heart that he poured out of his tongue. Long live u and ur collaboration with novak... He is waging a war of his own.. Support him well and ur contributions will be remembered in HISTORY forever. 💪 power to u and nole ! 😇
Goran was "the great soldier of tennis". His best played matches, were the ones where he just over powered the guy (whoever that might've been on the day) that thought he could out-think or out-play Goran...it was their wit, against his brute strength. And he proved over and over again, that tennis matches are not won, even most of the time, by the "smarter guy"...they're won by the guy who wins the last point. So perhaps Goran's most well-hidden attribute, was that no matter what happened in a tennis match, he always knew how to position himself to win that last point. Doesnt mean he always won...but Goran was not "that guy" who stepped out on the court without a plan. He could do it all..which is rare in tennis, even to this day. He could out-serve you...he could volley better than most of them....his forehand was a straight up-scary shot...his backhand was underrated in my opinion...and he was a pretty fit guy. I can think of a ton of 5 set matches he played, where the other guy just faded away, and Goran was on the other side of the net, almost laughing at him. This guy was a great champion...and his style of play and persona, are obviously missed.
like all of you I was a huge Goran Fan he always brought his A game in NYC at the US Open. Loved his intensity and when that serve was going I remember how literally the game no matter who the opponent he woudl destroy. Probably the greatest server of our time and his ground game was very underrated. Weakest part was his volleys
Great Guy Ivan .... Both Ivan and Samp are great ace servers ....and Ivan is one notch up as i would see dust coming out from wimbeldon pitch on his serve
Никога в живота си не съм била такъв верен фен в сп орта както към блестящия с качества ГОРАН ИВАНИШЕВИЧ!!!❤❤❤🎉
All the best..you made my childhood better. Love from India. Your Wimbledon was every underdog's own moment of victory.

Yea but his best achievement was helping Djokovic become the best ever. Vidaj, Becker and Ivanisevic all put him on his path.
