james dodenc E39 are such great cars, i have 530d 193ps; it's not powerfull as an M5 but like you said, so well balanced also, and good performances for a diesel engine.. drive safe

0:50, 1:36 if you put the car in neutral then why the fuck are you moving the gear shifter stick from side to side to check if you've put it in neutral... its a dumb thing to do. -.- it's not a healthy movement for the various parts in that certain part of the gearbox.

Dude, don't go into neutral unless you stand still. It idles the engine and uses fuel. Not that you would car about your fuel usage when driving like this but seriously, it's such a simple thing just not to do.
Why do Americans I see driving a fast car on youtube often accelerate fast, going through the gears and then suddenly put the car into neutral? Doesn't make any sense to me...

I will never understand why people like destroying their cars. There were 2 things done in this that make me know that I'll never be looking to buy this car. One action that has 2 bad consequences - pulling hard like that and then clutching in and putting the trans in neutral. 1 )pulling hard and then dropping the rpm's at idle means that you're not lubricating or cooling the engine as effectively as possible (oil pressure is a low as possible and coolant flow as low also at idle). It's like saying "I'm trying to kill my engine - I wanna see it blow up!!" You need the oil pressure/flow after pulling like that as everything has heated up, including the oil (which makes it thinner than being cold), and for the same heat reasons you need more coolant flow to help cool the now hot(ter) cylinder walls. 2) Aside from being in neutral being a bad idea while you're moving, holding in the clutch constantly is very hard on the throw out bearing, and will wear it prematurely. Granted, E39 M5 clutches aren't exactly the bastions of reliability (their smaller than the E34 clutches, and size equals holding power with good wear), so maybe you're planning on replacing your clutch soon ans don't care. I dunno. Either way, I do hope whenever you go to sell this thing you link this video in so I know not to call you - I don't want this car, unless you're giving it away for like $5K. And even that would warrant a careful inspection. K Fox P.S. It's not the SES light, it's the DSC/Traction control light, indicating that I turned it off.

BECAUSE MUFFLER DELETE
Put the thing in sixth gear to keep the noise and revs down,don't shift into neutral while coasting.
