Hello Harry, 2½ year Royal Danish Army Jutland Dragoon and Iraq veteran here. I must say that that is a very good setup and it ticks off practically all of the steps we used, you did a very good job on that one, well done! I started my conscript in the recce/scout company, getting the skills in with the "mothers milk" as you say. Our motto was "Videre Sine Videri" for a reason. When moving across the terrain, the situation, assignment and possible enemies dictated the route and tempo, we learned two ways, when enemies was expected: 12,7 = 12 steps - stand still and listen for 7 seconds - look in each direction. 7,62 = 7 steps - stand still and listen for 6 seconds - look in each direction 2 times. As a soldier those numbers was easy to remember for obvious reasons.
Thanks again for your generouse input. I no longer feel such a civilian fool. Hope I'll never need to use such skills in anger someday. Always going to hear from you. Take care. Harry...out
Very nice set-up, low profile indeed. One point you may like to consider - a scrim net scarf/head drape does a far better job than camo face paint (and is easier to remove/change and kinder on the skin/complexion. With face paint you can still get 'shine' if you sweat and light reflects from the sweat. Take care, Helen, Kat, Terri and Robyn
Hi Harry! great Basha set up there; like you demonstrated quick to set up and quick to take down and off you go. Some sound advice with what to do with those ferns.....leave no trace for someone may be tracking you! Quality DPM and camo you had there. Best wishes, Gilly 👍
Thanks Gillian good advice there. Hopefully when all the wars subside for they surely will, we can all celebrate being in the field once again using old kit. Take good care and peace be with you. Harry.
Brilliant Harry ❤
