The words "Target Rich Environment" come to mind!! Great to see that you always aim centre mass as well Simon - too many pest control (targeting birds) trend towards a head shot. Which as you know bobs around like crazy and can often lead to wounded & maimed birds. Solid work and great skill.
Used to go on crow hunts a lot when a teenager. We would call them in and shoot them with shotguns. Fast action, and we would kill approximately 100 in a day. The local farmers were very grateful and allowed us to hunt their properties during winter hunting seasons. It was a great trade!
That's a great permission you have there. Plenty of corvids. Great shooting and enjoyable video. Sweet little lambs to keep you company 😁 . Keep safe x
Nice shooting Simon,I take care of pigeons and crows etc for a local farmer with my .22 air rifle or a shotgun.I've shot 47 crows this past 2 weeks with the air rifle, but not really making a dent in the numbers, more seem to replace the ones I've killed, but persevere I must!!Keep up the good work, the only good crow is a dead one.
Top video Simon, good shooting in a target rich environment. Just shows what you can do with a 12ft/lb gun, you don’t need loads of power, accuracy’s the most important factor, good stuff.
That was great, I don't think it will be long before starlings or shebbies as we you'st to call them will be a massive farm pest and I mean massive. Well done pal!
Amazing how fast you get aimed and get the shot off, especially with them moving and ducking around so much. Some you tube guys are out there all afternoon and only down two or three birds. It's not that these guys are bad shots, it's just that you're a superb shot. If we have a zombie apocalypse I'm heading up north to join your gang.
My mom would still blame me for putting those holes in the wall, even if she was the one that did it. Lol I’m sure Larry and Barry are thankful for you.
Growing up in northeast Arkansas The local cotton gin operators Would allow me and my buddies Into the cotton gin the dispose Of pigeons. They caused huge Problems by crapping on the Freshly ginned cotton. We Would station ourselves on The catwalks above the Gin and dispose of the Pigeons till we ran out of Ammo or time. Crazy.
Fantastic shooting again. I am able to see a lot of the rounds in flight just before the strike - don't know why. I have always assumed they would be headshots predominantly. Amazingly (to me) they are not. Quite a few of these total kills are in fact neck or chest shots. I used to shoot 0.22 about forty-five years ago and never would have thought the flatter trajectory 0.177 would have had the killing power to take out a Jackdaw let alone a crow. You live and learn. I let a lot of wood pigeon escape the pot in retrospect. Some of these kill shots would appear to be out at 40 yds as well? Makes me think I should be buying a rifle soon. After I get some compliant farmers and the odd license I suspect I now need. Seriously good videos. Thank you.
Im also an old shooter, if you have the budget then look at the FX Impact M3 you can shoot .177 or .22 by a 1 minute barrel change. I bit the bullet and ordered mine so i cant wait to try it in .177 because like you i also thought .22 was a better round to use even at my age i can still learn something new. Have a great time with whatever you decide to buy and Im sure you will be disposing of pests in no time.
A very good smack down. I must agree about the shot of the day, but the tight needle shot was great also if not greater but it doesn't matter which one cause it was a great and precise pest control...I am a new sub. by the way and I love what you do...😉
Excellent shooting mate!! I smiled at your disclaimer at 4:55. 😂😂 The muzzle crack of the rifle taking those birds early on was lovely! You smacked a good number there!! 👍👍
Excellent shooting Bro. One of my favourite hobbies with crows. Pisses me off a bit, I'm a longbow shooter too. All them feathers going to waste. Hehehehehe
As always great shooting. I used to live rural in the West Midlands (used to be Warwickshire) and there were never the big flocks of Crow and Jackdaws I'm seeing in your posts! I only used to see them just in pairs! Unfortunately the three farms I used to get on, had too many foot paths through them, so I couldn't use rimfire or centrefire on them. Just my trusty mod 50 Original .22 air rifle and a shotgun. As a matter of interest, are you Ex military? Keep up the good work Simon.
Great videos simon , some "proper" close range air rifle hunting , i was starting to get bored of all the 100yard slug stuff im seeing on youtube , keep the vids coming mate
Ok fella. The flash as the pellet hits is great to watch. What distance do you zero for sub 12 shooting. Great channel, so glad I bumped into it. Keep your finger by the trigger and your eye to the glass.🏴
Best vermin control on UA-cam mate. Love the fact it’s all text and not someone droning on about every shot or pellet they are using. On screen text is great, and usually comical. Great editing and of course, great shooting.
Came here from a video graphically showing how some bird species will eat the eyeballs and tongue of a newborn lamb on a farm. Light em up.
Yep shame every one doesn't watch it pal
Same here with me
Do jackdaws do that too?
May i have the link to that video

Sure is!
Great shooting, awesome session 👍unusual to see the pellets in the daytime
Cheers pal, ye think it was the angle of the sun as in winter when the sun is low i often see the back of a bullet to believe it or not

Ye nice one RF keep at them, i am due to go back to this farm any day and i believe i will shoot 20 to 30 if i be honest..

That was great, I don't think it will be long before starlings or shebbies as we you'st to call them will be a massive farm pest and I mean massive. Well done pal!

Great camera angle/work to be able to see the pellet impact. Great!

Yes, I was advised that a .177 would penetrate feathers better than a .22 when fairly close.
Ye John they do to be honest but .22 is also good for birds if i be honest..
Epic shootings. BRAVO
Thank you
Excellent shooting. More like a Turkey shoot!
