Thanks for the tip. My kalanchoe looks like the one in the sheep pot. I didn't know to trim the flowers after they were spent. It has grown a lot but just dark green leaves. It's May now. Is it too late to try the dark period to light period to try to get it to flower?
Kalanchoe needs bright, indirect sunlight when grown indoors and at least 8 hours of direct sunlight outdoors. For it to bloom, it requires a period of six weeks with 14 hours of darkness. Around four months after this dark period, kalanchoe will bloom with colorful flowers.
Hello! Do we do the 14h:10h therapy just once or for 6 weeks? Also, my plant has about a gajillion air roots and seems like it’s begging to be propagated, but it only has three shoots so it’ll look really lopsided if I cut one to propagate with. I don’t want the shape of the plant to be ugly, but it seems like the plant wants to propagate. What does the plant need from me right now? Thank you!! Hi! For the 14h:10h light therapy, it’s typically done for about 6 weeks to help with blooming, so yes, you should follow that schedule for the full duration. As for propagation, since your Kalanchoe only has three shoots, it’s best to wait until it grows more to avoid making it lopsided. In the meantime, keep it in bright, indirect light and water when the soil is dry🌱
i cloned my Kalanchoe that had no issue with Powdery Mildew and keep prunning it so it will be bushy while its a baby i am hoping for a nice bushy plant by the time it blooms it will be a nice bushy plant

There's no need to remove it from the soil. If the soil was dry when you planted it, go ahead and give it a light watering, allowing the soil to drain completely. Just be careful not to overwater, as Kalanchoe prefers well-draining soil. You're doing a fantastic job - keep it up

my above plant was bought in December 2023. The plant now is just starting to loose all of its leaves. I watered twice a week in the cooler months now since it is summer I am watering it more - once a week. It is now again loosing its leaves significantly. What can I do. I know stop watering...yes, but. now how can I help it to survive. Plus one of the stems is looking like it is drying out/turning into a thick stem and some of the stems are snapping off. Thanking you in advance.
Be sure to let the soil dry out a bit between waterings. You can check by sticking your finger in - if the soil feels dry and powdery, it's time to water. Remove any damaged or dead leaves/stems. And make sure your plants get enough light, but not direct, intense sun, as that can stress them out.

I'm wondering if I should move it to a different window with less direct sunlight as per your suggestion. The new window is on the south side and receives more shade than light, but still gets some sunlight. This is a lame question but is the winter sun less harsh than the summer sun? Thank you!
@@ManifestingwithIntention The winter sun is indeed less intense than the summer sun. Moving it to a south-facing window with more shade could reduce its light exposure significantly. And when you water, do so thoroughly until water drains out of the bottom of the pot. Make sure the pot has good drainage to prevent excess water from sitting in the bottom.
@@SucculentsBox Now the base stem is turning black and one of the long stems is snapped and droopy; the eaves are still falling off the plant. I cut a piece of the stem from under the node and hopefully, I can regrow another plant from that clipping - my concern is that if the root is damaged from the mother plant will that clipping be affected as well? I am air-drying the clipping I took from the mother plant. I am so upset, lol. I have had this plant for 8 months and suddenly it starts acting weird. It was seriously healthy and thriving...I don't get it! So sad, lol.
@@ManifestingwithIntention The blackening of the base stem and the drooping could be signs of overwatering or root rot, especially if the soil has been staying too wet. Since you’ve already removed a healthy part of the plant, just make sure the clipping is fully calloused over before planting it in well-draining soil. It might also help to check the soil and roots of the mother plant for any signs of rot or pests. If the roots are mushy or have a foul odor, that could be the source of the problem. You could try repotting the mother plant in fresh, dry soil after trimming away any damaged roots.
