That's the first time I've seen someone rank Linda Ballantyne above Keith Wickham. But you're right, this is a great example of how casting a woman as a boy can actually work. And nice job using Colleen O'Shaughnessey as Tails for reference, too!
It worked with Jimmy Neutron, so it should work with Percy too.

michael angelis' percy was great
especially when he said the line 'DON'T CALL ME DIRTY PERCY!!!'
Or when he says “yes I am pleasant” in the response to Gordon in Thomas Percy and the Squeak so funny

Nigel Pilkington is definitely my favourite voice actor for Percy, and I truthfully agree that he's the best voice for him. Like John Hasler's Thomas, he captured lots of energy, emotion and youth.
I never thought about it before, but Christopher Ragland's Percy voice actually complements Joseph May's Thomas voice really well! Great video! (minus Robin Smith not making the top 5 😪)
Didn't expect Nigel Pilkington to make the list, and while he does a good job as Percy, for me, my all-time favorite Percy VA is none other than Linda Ballantyne herself!🙂 She really not only captured what Percy's true character is, but also made him sound like an actual British schoolboy (and I love how she isn't trying to put on a voice to make it sound interesting, but this is one of the few times where the VA is the character). Plus, in some scenes, she really has a lot of fantastic line deliveries, one of them being when Percy spies on Splatter & Dodge at the Magic Buffers along with the quote "I am brave" really shines through. While Susan Roman doesn't work for James in MRR, Linda Ballantyne actually works for a young character like Percy perfectly! Seriously we NEED more interviews with her and the other MRR voiceover artists regarding their work on the movie!
As for my least favorite Percy VA, I know this is gonna question most ppl, but I really didn't like Michael Angelis' performance as him, especially in later seasons he made him sound too much like a younger James, but high-pitched. Also, I never really go near the online videos from 2020, so I really don't have that much to say about Rob but I can agree that he never amped up his game with other characters previously voiced by a few others like Keith Wickham and others (also funnily enough, it's surprising to see you use the footage from Rainbow Sun Productions' MRR presentation).
I can barely sit through listening to Rob Rackstraw's awful voice as Percy.
Probably the reason Angelis began using a younger version of his James voice for Percy from Season 6 onwards is because that's the voice he would have given him had he been in the voice cast for Magic Railroad and used the voice in the show so that it didn't go to waste

I might be in the minority here, but I think my favourite Percy voice was the lispy voice Angelis gave him in the HiT era. I'm just weird that way 😃
If I can remember back to the last time I marathoned the show, I think his American voice (I think Martin Sherman) was better than his British voice. Probably my second favourite Percy.

Robin Smith - he's not that bad imo
Martin Sherman - *i think his voice in Season 15 singlehandedly made me think Percy was a girl when I was like 3*
but in literally any other season I think he sounds kinda fitting for Percy.
Stephen Donald - agree with you again
Keith Wickham - again, agreed
Linda Ballantyne - three agrees in a row, the voices in TATMR are really underrated
Christopher Ragland - really adorable and wholesome, i like this one
Michael Angelis - perfect for the model series where there's only one narrator doing everything
Nigel Piklington - pretty great voice, though i think it's a three-way tie between him, Christopher and Linda for the best Percy voice imo

Nigel Pilkington does the perfect Percy voice. Maybe it’s a little too high pitched but he is pretty much spot on voicing the character.

Linda has to be my favourite Percy voice. I feel like Percy is better off being played by a woman, as in character, he is a really young engine, younger than Thomas.

I have to admit, another fantastic video! I enjoy Michael Angelis, Keith Wickham, and Nigel Pilkington as a whole, especially with that English vibe, but the others are definitely interesting to compare to.

Honestly, I wasn’t a fan of Linda voicing Percy in TATMR, but at least she gave it everything she had. Other than that, great video and hope the next character voice ranking video will be James.

I agree with you on Micheal Angeles' voice for Percy because sure John Bell's and Michael Angeles may balance off of each other's perfectly but it makes Percy sound too old as it's one of the reasons why I think the model series should have had more than one person to voice all the characters.

The UK dub just always sounds the most natural, no matter what.
Nigel Pilkington and Christopher Ragland are the best voice actors while voicing Percy because the Percy is similar to the voice of Trevor but Keith Wickham voicing only Edward Henry Gordon James and Percy and allowing Ben Small to voice Thomas and Toby until Thomas and Toby ended up getting voiced by John Hasler and Rob Rackstraw

In my opinion all the CGI Percy voices are horrible. I never liked the thought of Percy being a young character after Season 3 as it really ruins the development and growth in the Classic Series and after 2002 no narrator or voice actor could really get that perfect Percy voice in my opinion

I have a few things to say about this. First off, I actually thought Martin Sherman was going to be dead last, because you had someone screaming when you said he also voices Percy in the Thomas Voice actors video. (Question: Which would you rather listen too: Squidward playing his clarinet are Martin Sherman voicing Percy?). Second, I am sad that my favorite voice of James was horrible with Percy. And finally, how would you rate Christopher Rageland's villain Percy voice from the episode Free The Roads?

What awesome choices. Since I live in the UK, I would put the US actors in last, but Christopher is the best of them. And I agree Rob is the worst for Percy; that makes no sense, regarding Nigel and Christopher voiced him at the time, for the TV series. And besides, those learning videos are atrocious. But indeed, Nigel is the best. And I also like Michael (having grown up with him narrating the show, also thought he was suited for the role in Thomas and the Magic Railroad, as well as James), Keith (he at least improved in the Brenner era, especially Tale of the Brave) and Linda.
On a side note, I respect that you don't like the second Cars movie. I personally love it, also don't mind Mater being the main character.

6:30: That and women are known to be able to do more convincing younger boy voices than most men out there. Usually, if you cast a grown man as a boy, that's say, 10-14 years old, expect that voice to not sound that age. Then again, actors like Michael J. Fox, Michael Cera, and Tom Holland have done more convincing young boy voices than others.
