I'm a 19 y/o, 120 lbs, 5'8" I have to say this bike great for new riders like myself. Even for those who is just looking to have fun on two wheels. It's may not be get to 150mph like a 600 but who needs that much power on the street anyway and besides there are speed limits. I personally use this bike as a daily commute and as a getaway vehicle. Being faster than most cars on the road and getting 77 mpg, it's like a convertible sports car plus a hybrid for a fraction of the cost. lol.

Thanks a lot, im 17 years old this will be my first bike, first time ON a bike. And this helped me get an idea of what i just purchased. Plus, it was all delivered in a kind, not too flashy manner. Many thanks!

I’m 230 and hit 81mph on full throttle, after a year I recommend staying off highways on shift ending. It’s Perfect, if you can take backroads to work.

That bike is good if you just want a motorcycle or a starter bike. If you don't plan on racing people or joining a club, the CBR250 is fine. Some people buy a faster bike so they won't get embarrassed by dudes with 500+ cc's. That's not a good reason to buy a bigger bike. Don't let people (who aren't giving you money for the bike) sucker you into keeping up with the Jones'. Get what you want on your OWN TERMS and get what you can afford!

Damn, I'm 18, 6'4'' and looking for a bike. I was actually quite skeptical on being able to start on this bike because of my height. After this review, I believe I may actually be able to get one !
Thanks to you my man, loved your vid.

have just bought this bike full ABS version build & ride quality is fantastic & I have had CBR 600F GPZ 500 & this little Honda brings a smile to my face every time its so light & flick able with punchy engine ...I just ride it & love it & had it over 95mph on straight run really surprised me.

I totaly agree plus it is so inexpensive that you can dress it up and still not go broke. It is such a great base to start from. I have had a lot of bikes and this is one of the funnest ones. I love that it is so light weight and nimble. Take care.

for me i sat on both 250s of ninjas and the honda, i'd personally liked the ninja sitting arrangement better, i thought it made up for taller or bigger driver and just seemed more comfortable on the seat position

Gud review, though it was too positive. I have ridden my friends CBR 250 and it is really smooth and stable and doesn't has much vibration though i is a 250cc single cylinder bike. I think top speed claimed is 154 kmph but its easy to go uptill 130 kmph after that it take time to reach any higher.

Loved the video man! *sub'd* Painting the wheels white would be a great improvement, and I think you should definitely paint the seat cowl white as well! Although I'm not sure about the red footpegs... Anyway, post up some more videos of your lovely bike!

It just arrived here in Brazil. Now there is this big polemic about the new CBR over the Ninja 250. Many owners of the Ninja - like myself - is looking foward to put shame on Honda as soon as it get in the streets with their twin cilinder. Persoanly, going against Kawasaki's boys, I find this CBR a pretty good bike and nice looking as well. I'm looking foward to have a chance to ride this bike :)

Good question, The new bike from the factory will always come with the two up seat. My dealer where I bought the bike had added the cover to give the bike a different look. The cover is a Honda accessory that can be bought later. I do have the two up seat it the box the cover came in. The seat installs the very same way cover does. I will make a short video, look for it showing both pieces. Thanks.

why would anyone rather have a 20 year old carb'd bike when you could have a brand new 250r that gets 70mpg and is top of the line as far as practicality? Plus I've read that the old 250rr only went 7mph faster than the new 250r.

  • @jolede029
    @jolede029  12 років тому

I don't have a clue how much it cost back in the day, but I am willing to bet it was way more than $4000 usd. Also much much harder to work on. And a 250 is a 250 not a 600. Those bikes were fast but 110-115 was top speed with pistion the size of thimbles. Thanks for the post.

A cbr250rr is still a slow bike compared to the current 600rr. I would never go from a 250 to another 250, lol. You either get a 250 for a starter bike or an economy commuter/cruiser, you don't get a 250 for speed. Btw, I average 80 mpg, I hardly doubt those old 90's cbr250rr bikes could get half of that.

Were Im at that bike is super rare, looking on ebay you just can't find it. I think Honda made more CBR 250R's in the last 2 years than they ever made the 250RR. I respect your choice but me personaly I would like something new not 16-24 years old. Due to fact it is a rare bike the parts are just as rare. Just 2 different bike, one is race ready for its class (in its day). The new cbr 250r is fun, has lots of power, cost effective, easy to work on (if ever needed). Thanks, I like a good debate.

That's a shame. In Australia we have a website called bikesales so it is super easy to find good bikes.
Also, parts are a non issue. Any CBR250RR post 91 is easy to get parts for. I can get a part for my bike within two days. It helps that I work in spare parts though.
The new CBR's are great for a learner but it's a damn shame they don't make them like they used to, nothing like an in-line 4. Single cylinder just isn't the same...

  • @rodneyws1977

I'm a leggy 6'3 / 6'4 dude and I didn't feel cramped sitting on 250R. Had my GF take pictures of me on it and I did look a bit silly. Ultimately went with a FZ6R instead and have had that bike for nearly a year now. I still WANT a CBR 250R (not sure why!) but I just think I look too silly on one because of my height.

because its light, easy steering, low in fuel use (1 ltr for 28km), fun shifting, u actually need all 6 instead of only 1 and 2 on a racing bike). In Holland max. speed allowed on some roads is 130 km/h. So why should the bike be able to ride 200?

A dungbox, box made of poop? You are environmentally conscience and see how low the emissions are on the CBR250R. Besides the CBR 250rr was last sold in the USA in 1998. So please give me Dr. Brown's phone # so I can see if I can borrow the DeLorean to go back in time. There is not alot of trunk space with the Flux Capacitor in back. Lets compair apples to apples. Thanks!

ninjas have no power off the line, the cbr250r roasts the ninja off the line from 0-40 mph. The ninja has a little better top end power but not enough to buy one. You want to feel quicker off the line and the cbr250r does that better than the ninja. at least the 2012 ninjas and earlier. I hear the 2013 ninja 250 will be better.

  • @McH307

CBR250RR parts are easy to obtain. I can have any part within 2-3 working days. Why are you going out of your way to get an inline 4? Why go out of your way and get a v-twin, parallel twin, V4, Triple or single cylinder? Your logic makes no sense?
Also, about the parts. I can assure you it's true because I do it for a job ;)

Never mind McH307, he is a another squid douche. Only a fool would buy an old 90's bike that has probably been to hell and back with stories to tell. Besides some parts for a cbr250rr are almost impossible to find and expensive, very impractical. That 250rr bike was an inline 4 cylinder, what's the point? I would rather get 600cc inline 4 if I'm going to go out of my way for an inline 4 cylinder bike. No thank you, I'll stick with my 2011 cbr250r.
