Can’t believe that Anthony spent 33 thousand minutes on just Mambo No. 5; give 1-4 a chance maybe?
A lot of people say Mambo died after no. 9, but I think that 33 and 34 have been a real return to form.
It was a thing between my friends and I back when that song was big that his album was just Mambo No. 1 through 12. I was disappointed when I finally looked at the back of the CD in Media Play or Circuit City or wherever I was.
Keep this at 666 likes guys lol

I had a really weird Uber driver who blasted mambo number 5 while chain smoking cigs
Impressive Melon, you don't break Logic's 5-year streak being your number 1

Hearing that a Pink Floyd worst to best is in the works is the greatest news I've heard all day.
Light the bonfires, we’re getting a Pink Floyd worst to best
Can't wait for him to rate my favorite albums poorly
slow news day, huh?
Can’t wait for him to put my favorite album at number 5
Now all we need is The Beatles WORST TO BEST
you have to go through the highlight reel to see your actual minutes anthony, the 50,000 is simply a milestone to make you feel good

bruh I spent more time listening than antoine 😮😮😮😮😮😮
I think this video just goes to show that the music we find most comforting is not the same as the music we consider to be the best
That's true
I'd agree with that. First example that I thought of is To pimp a butterfly, one of the best albums of all time and definitely Kendricks best. But I listen to GKMC much more.
That goes for most things. Sometimes you just want a peanut butter sandwich instead of a steak.
What our tastes are vs what we would review the best.
@@Joe-hl2tsi think that GKMC is more listenable both casually and the songs on their own
Didn’t expect the Bluey soundtrack to be your most listened to album, but you go Melon!
Never, in a million years, would I EVER have expected ANTHONY FANTANO to be listening to the LEMON TWIGS😭 LETS FUCKING GO
I knew he was listening based off his last album review, but NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS would I have expected them to land at NUMBER 2 FOR THE YEAR. This is a monumental moment for Twiggy fans everywhere.
For realllll, I knew he was loving the album but this just made it so much bettwe
@@Teaminflamenta monumental moment😭 in what world, cus one guy likes them

Damn I knew Fantano loved that album by Dream.
Fantano was the only one in the comments defending Dream after that face reveal.
Anthony, you're supposed to wait until Christmas to show people what you wrapped!

1. Kendrick
2. Drake
3. Kendrick

I am so proud of anthony for finally showing us that he listened to tones and I
"Lana Del Rey at number 11 I've really been enjoying that new LP", for a 78 min record, 468 min spent listening to her means you've listened to the album around 5 times, I'm impressed tbf.
😭
Listening to a long album five times yes does mean you like it
Third Eye Blind's debut is one of the catchiest, most fun, most surprisingly profound albums from its era. This year I fell deeply in love with The Background in a way I never had before, but that often happens to me with different tracks off that album.
Glad people are finally realizing
3eb slaps
This list screams of saying when passion becomes your job
awesome seeing queens of the stone age on the top 5! they were also in my top five and dropped a really solid album this year.
Melon, this is a clear cop out. Your yearly resolution should be to make two separate accounts; one for making videos and another for casual listening. You've got one year to make this right
5 months and still no pink floyd worst to best
It's so intimate to see someone's playlist. What they're groovin' and movin' too. I thank you for being brave. I hate showing people what I'm really, really listening to sometimes just because I'm prolly insecure or something.
Anyways yeah. No biggie.
I've been listening to the Lemon Twigs since I first saw this and I totally understand why. It's like the best of that pocket of time that mini era within an era condensed. Like The Carpenters and 70's Stevie had a with a lil disco flair done by the son of the lead singer of REO Speedwagon. It slaps. Hard.
Melon you can't just listen to Money Store on repeat for 11 and a half years
Not jerking, money store is just ok
thank you for being open about your top artist being ICP, we are proud of you melon.
It makes me so happy to see 3rd eye blind on here. Red was one of my favorite albums growing up I gotta go back to it now.
He reviews music so much I totally forgot he listened to music 😂
he doesn’t listen casually that much apparently
@@krinkles147 id say 68k mins is quite a bit??? 😭
@@happycrimsonIts not.
@@Adrian-fo4kv i assume you, that's pretty normal
@@Adrian-fo4kv it is though, listening to music to review is not the same way most people listen to music normally. It's way more mentally taxing to sit there and listen to an album like 3 times in a day, each time having to pay attention to it all the way through than to just put on a record and casually listening to it.
Pink Floyd was on my top artists as well and they were my #3 pick, they're still one of my favourite bands and a big reason why I wanted to play guitar and plus they're just a great classic band (I also just picked up a copy of The Wall from a record store I went to with a friend of mine, which is an absolute favourite album of mine) so it made me happy to see that Anthony and I both listened to them
Love seeing Queens of the Stone Age there. Probably my favorite band of all time.
Was not expecting it! But a pleasant surprise as another Queens fan
Me too!!!
Same here 100%
They should have find a different name for real
@@Nichwar19 Nope. It screens the audience for meatheads, idiots, and homophobes, and as someone who has been to a few Queens shows, I can attest to the fact that it works like a charm.
I'm obsessed with the V Boys EPs and Deluxe edition bonus tracks right now. They were my top 1 as well
Yooo! Third Eye Blind representation, let’s go ✨
Really would love to see a classic review of their debut record someday
I said this on the short too, and I’ll say it again here, always a joy seeing Cass Elliot-her music got me through a rough time and it still feels me with a sense of excitement every time I hear her voice
i fucking love third eye blind sm dude
Their debut is a true no-skips album. Motorcycle Drive By and God of Wine is such an incredible 1-2 punch to close the album.
471 minutes on pink floyd... that's like 3 songs
Nah fair
I would not lend too much faith to the stats apple provides. For myself and many of my friends. the statistics seemed impossibly off in many areas. The most egregious example from mine was that the was a classical piano compilation album that I skimmed through once at most and Apple Music claims that I listened to it 22 times. It was one of my most listened to albums this year, apparently.
if it had 22 songs on it and you spent roughly 30 seconds on each song, then it adds up
@jaycyclondo1848 wtf are you on? I didn't even listen to the album once all the way through. Compared to other albums that I had on repeat for most of the year.
It would be cool to see a video like this every year to see what u listen to casually year to year, maybe on a different account to an account for reviewing if money allows? Would be like a different kind of list week
Anthony I can't believe you have Third Eye Blind in your top 10.
No seriously guys, it is in his top 10.
Not surprised, any time he talks about music he loved in his youth he brings up third eye blind.
As it should be
The lemon twigs at #2 makes me happy.
I discovered that record because of you, and now they're at #2 for me too
3 out of 5 of my most listened songs this year are from their new album
whats your favorites? ive only listened to “corner of my eye” so far and it was beautiful
the entire album is worth a listen, cause each song has something to offer, but here are a couple of my favourites:
- Any Time Of Day: great chords and harmony. That last chorus is probably the biggest highlight on the album for me personally.
- In My Head: great chords (again), super catchy, relatable lyrics
these next two arent the most popular tracks on the album, but i personally like them a lot:
- Born To Be Lonely: interesting chord progression (i just really like harmony), the way it switches to a waltz in the chorus is pretty cool. I love the string arrangement too.
- New To Me: apparently this track is about Alzheimer, and i have family member with dementia, so that makes this track special to me. I also like singing along with the harmonies. The topic of forgetting everything but still being in love is beautifully sad and its a real thing
and who is at #1?
its radiohead lol.
i had a bit of a shit year and i believe that is the one of the reasons why i fell down the radiohead rabbithole.
Didn’t expect Tory lanez to take up every spot melon
Glad to see Anthony go back to The One off the lemons twigs album from a few years ago, I was the the show where they played that song for the first time ever and I’ve always adored it
I just rewatched your episode with H3 from this January and you and Ethan talked about that debut third eye blind album being really good so I guess it checks out 😂
Dude the debut Third Eye Blind album IS good. I like every song it and always have.
I'm in the same boat with you, Viagra Boys are amazing and LCD Soundsystem is the band that's always at least in the top 5.
Queens of the Stone Age's In Times New Roman and their whole discography just hits different
Cheekface was my #1 artist of 2023, loving their entire discography and the newer singles coming out!
I would really love to see fontano start a music platform of some sort. I am one of those indie artists that he is protecting all the time in his videos, that got zero to no exposure on his music and would really love if i had someone like him behind my back when releasing music. Anyways I am grateful that at least someone is speaking out about the discrepancies in the music industry!!! ❤
Nobody cares but my top 5 artists of 2023 are:
1. Deftones
2. Interpol
3. Joy Division
4. New Order
5. The Cure

3. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

Funnily enough that Lemon Twigs album is just now entering my rotation AGAIN because winter has come around, and it just fits those vibes
It‘s so cool to see you listen to QOTSA so much, they‘ve been my favorite band for so long.
so proud of you for having kendrick lamar in all 5 spots melon
Third Eye Blind in the top 10 is a massive W
Can’t believe Anthony spent all that time listening to Corey Feldman’s Angelic to the Core, we all knew you secretly loved that album!
I listened to 2,051 artists this year, so not too far behind fantano. My 2 top songs were both from Jakey 🐶(pine barrens and drive off a bridge). Top 2 artists Max Richter and TWRP. I like a good variety💃
Third Eye Blind's first record is fucking fantastic. I have it in CD as well and I also got a cool reissue of it on vinyl. ❤
Anthony, you don't need to show us your wrapped. We already know your top artist is Ronnie Radke.
Wrong channel
As I expected, Anthony's actual favorite music to listen to is a lot more normie than what's normally featured on the reviews!
Melon’s Replay minutes look like someone’s Pokémon Center who has a ton of Pokémon at level 10 while everyone else has a six Pokémon team of level 70s and higher
Trippie Redd in the top fifteen wasn’t expected!
Big 14!
KG&TLW is my most listened to artist this year, I discovered them early in the year and they just have so much stuff to listen to
Queens at #5? Even though you weren't all that impressed with In Times New Roman? Well how's about that? This makes my day! Hell, my year! (FYI, Queens came in at #1 on my Spotify Wrapped, albiet for the latest record rather than older ones). Long live the Queens!! 🤟🤘🤟
Yeah, I was surprised, I made a random comeback to them last month and...it's so good. Def missed The Queens.
I saw queens and Viagra boyxs this year and i think it was the best show i've ever seen. (Queens is my #1 and VB is my #4)

I’ve never seen or met anyone else on the internet or real life who listens to Cheekface. And I suddenly love melon 10x more for it
11:10 Anthony's face when he realizes he might in fact not be the busiest of the internet's music nerds
I use Tidal for music streaming. Does in fact pay artists the most of all platforms. Also a really good service in terms of library.
The fact that I don’t know any of his top 5 listening Artists either shows how uneducated I am on the trending music these days or shows what a „special“ taste 40-something year old melon is having.
Didn't expect to see Dance Monkey at no. 1, but great video as always!
You reached 50,000 minutes in September. If you watch your highlight reel it will tell you your total minutes for the year
The lemon twigs live were really good too!!! I took my parents and they're a really good band for bridging the gap!
Cheekface is one of the best bands I’ve found from your reviews
I am surprised To Pimp A Butterfly (TPAB) isn't number 1 in his albums most listened too
The Melon Twigs 💀
Seeing your top 5 artists definitely speak to why your rap reviews end up the way they do
that 3eb self titled is kinda perfect ngl
Everything Harmony is such a fantastic record
Third Eye Blind's debut album sits on the same pedestal as Garbage's Verson 2.0 and Fion Apple's Tidal as perfectly executed and infinitely listenable late 90's records. I used to deliver flowers and left my CD book in the van and my friend drove for a bit and came to me gobsmacked at how amazing it is. He assumed it was bubble gum pop or something because of Semi-Charmed Life. Their 2nd album Blue is also very good.
Agreed 100%
3rd eye blind is a pretty cringe thing to have in your wrapped IMO.
I had the exact same urge to go back to it this year. it’s nuts to see him go through the same. Not only that, it really stood the test of time.
their third album is their best imo
@@DogmenHardcastle yeah if you've never actually listened to them maybe

Third eye blind’s first record is an underrated gem
Viagra Boys and LCD Soundsystem are two of my favorites too. A true man of taste.
If Piper at the Gates of Dawn isn’t at least in the top 10 I’m starting my own music review show.
Top 5 pink floyd album for me
I've listened to 1,596 artists, 2,378 albums, and 6,252 tracks. 15,127 total track listens. Unsure of how many minutes.
Granted, I work in a kitchen and I'm often in charge of our Bluetooth speaker for 3-5 hours at a time four-five days a week, so it'd be a lot less if it was just my solo listening.
Fave albums and tracks?
@@24eu Oof, that's a tough one lol
If we're talking 2023 releases, album-wise it's probably a toss up between Yeule, Sufjan, or Youth Lagoon. Honorable mentions to Cattle Decap, Tomb Mold, and Billy Woods. Favorite track is easily Cyber Meat by Yeule, I'm helplessly addicted to it
If we're talking this year in general, my favorite (and most listened) album's been Jawbreaker's 24hr Revenge Therapy, and my favorite track is hands down Dillinger Four's Doublewhiskeycokenoice
Can’t wait for my luminary wrap up
Goated third eye blind debut album finally getting the respect it deserves
Didn’t know you were such a big imagine dragons fan, Fantano! But 80k minutes on the same artist is maybe a but much…
Honestly valid I wouldn’t w thought this would be crazy topster/rym coded and cringe but it really isn’t. Seeing third eye blind and viagra boys up there made me happy, both massively underrated, especially teb’s self titled. And qotsa as always. De La Soul too. Don’t often or always agree with fantano’s reviews but I can respect and get behind this kind of top ten.
Nah viagra boys can stay irrelevant. Only online politics obsessed losers like Anthony would listen to them.
I love your disclaimer. To me it just show how much you care about the art and the people behind it.
I met cheekface in person in Philly at the ukie club and they were super genuine folk. Love that band! I even got a picture with them 😂
damn melon having newjeans as his top artist and all their 15 songs on his top 15?? wow never expected it but a welcome surprise!!
I feel like there’s definitely something off with Apple Music’s minutes tracking. I’ve independently checked mine then compared to the updates and it just doesn’t track. Like for Anthony that’s only 2.2 hour a day and considering he puts out an album review a day and he’s listening to every Album at least twice we’re already at 80/136 a day and that’s probably the minimum for a review then he’s said before that music is the things that primarily occupies background sound and workout material as well. Just seems very off
On top of that he’s doing single every week and why you no review often up it’s at a minimum of like 95 minutes of work based listening a day and I’d be shocked if he only had 40 minutes of personal listening each day
You have to go to your highlight reel to see your total minutes. That’s why it said reached September 5th under the 50 thousand minute thing
I thought he said that he doesn't just listen to music on apple music.
That's interesting when you listen to so much music even some of your top artists only got like 6-8 hours of listening time. Interesting to see Lemon Twigs so high. I liked that one at first and then forgot all about it. I was at over 1,200 albums too and only listen to the full album so I think I beat Fantano on full albums listened to. I also hit 100,000 minutes in august so I listened to more than twice the minutes. I am now the busiest music nerd because I have a fulltime job on top of listening to music. I just listen to music most of the day at work too.
Third Eye Blind i fucking fantastic. One of my favourite bands for their first 3 albums.
This year I clocked in at over 75K minutes on Spotify... I have officially beat the music man himself
Edit: Also, mad respect giving Coldplay the attention they deserve
@fantano 5652 artists, 10846 songs, ~95k minutes listened. I go to 2 or 3 concerts per week from local bands, so I find them on spotify before seeing them perform. I also curate my algorithm with absurdly long (15+hrs) moody/themed playlists. What i've found is that this curation helps the algorithm to suggest more local indie music artists that are actively touring. Rate my top artist? (1) Tennis (2) Jack Johnson (3) Taylor Swift (4) Post Nebbia (5) Caroline Rose 2:39
hell yeah Jack Johnson 👏 haven't listened to him in a while, thanks for reminding me of him.
Tennis is great. I have amazing memories of time when I first discovered them and listened to I Miss That Feeling and Needle and a Knife non-stop
