    The way you feel about that little Japanese lady is exactly how I feel about you; I get relaxed just from listening to you waffeling about anything, whether it’s carnivore, household chores, VT truck driving or real driving around the beautiful British countryside.
    When you don’t post videos for a while I really miss you! 🌷

    Happy to see your puttering, Rick! I personally just love your drives, where you film the countryside as you drive, and share your thoughts of the day. Things are starting to green up a bit in the U.K... It would be wonderful to see spring arriving.

      Yes, Rick hasn't done any chatty van vlogs since before lockdown, whilst he has travelled to places in the van with Alex but we only saw the place & not the journey. Hopefully once spring & summer arrives on a nice day he will actually get out of the house more.

    Rick in a van, being crafty, talking carnivore, observing the stars, trucking in VR, on the allotment or just pottering around... do it all and whenever you want and I shall certainly continue and enjoy watching. I get the living on your own as I do that 50% of my time. Motivation is sometimes something I need and your videos seem to help with that. All good. Keep doing you.

    Yay! So nice to see you back Rick. Must admit I was worried when you stopped the daily vlogs on giving up sugar although understandably your health comes first but so nice to see you back. Happy to see daily musings and general pottering it’s what we all do isn’t it? 😊
    I see from other replies that you did some allotments videos in the past so will seek you out in them for some inspiration on my little humble veg plot, might get some ideas.
    Anyway so nice to see you back 😊

    Yes, loved the video. Besides being invested in your carnivore experiment, you are an interesting guy. Keep the videos coming as a way for us to know you are okay. Keep your body moving as you wait for verdict on the gall bladder, there is always a chance the stone breaker protocol could help break the stones up so you can pass them naturally.

  • @tomservo75

    Thanks for making this. It's a nice break from all the meat diet videos. I have always admired and been a bit envious if I'm honest, about your level of absolutely flawless organization and cleanliness, and was hoping you'd make a video like this someday so I can see how you do it. But you're right hat is some major OCD :), you spend more time on your sink than I do on my entire bathroom. I have to have a professional cleaner come in once a month and do a deep clean. On the bright side, I you have inspired me to keep my very tiny apartment (flat) better sorted, but it's difficult for multiple reasons:
    1. I just have too much stuff in a much smaller space. There is no "upstairs", no shed, no garage, just one bedroom, one bathroom, living room and kitchen.
    2. I don't have OCD (actually I do but that's a long story), in fact if I'm being honest I'm incredibly lazy and have low standards. And most importantly of all...
    3. I don't have a "Steve" :(
    Although if I had $1 for every time you say "I dunno" I might be able to afford one 🤣

    I haven't seen the Japanese woman but being honest i can't say this is the most riveting topic watching you clean your sink & do some dusting, maybe slightly more so than the video where you reheated last nights chips up in the microwave? So between this & watching you obsess over eating meat for the past two months & seeing the problems arise from that. In my humble opinion i think you need to get out more than you do when you can.

    One thing I found that works well with plants is to leave the tap water out for a day before watering them, because that gives the chemicals in the tap water (chlorine and Fluoride I think) time to dissipate. These are in levels that are fine for Humans, but some plants really don't like them.
    I'm glad the itchy back and sides has finally gone!

    Rick, I had my gallbladder out when I was 17. The surgery is very routine and the relief from the pain associated with flare ups is indescribable. I remember you mentioned before that you had gallbladder issues in an old video and when I saw all the butter you were using cooking on carnivore, I was expecting a flare up.
    What I will say, certainly in my experience, when you have the gallbladder out you will still have potential problems when you eat fatty foods. Without the gallbladder you'll struggle to emulsify fat and this will cause pain and discomfort if you eat too much butter or oily food generally. Another side effect, it occurs in some cases, is ongoing diarrhoea issues. This is because, I was told by a consultant, the bile that was previously stored in the gallbladder goes into the intestine and causes issues.
    The key to avoiding those problems is simple, but it does require willpower. You need to avoid butter and oil and fatty foods in general. So a low fat diet is essential .The low-FODMAP diet might be worth looking at also, especially if you encounter any IBS symptoms. It can help eliminate trigger foods.
    Also, I'd certainly watch this type of "pottering about" video. Very relaxing, almost therapeutic. I'll be checking out those train videos on NHK, too!
    P.S. You should have a white chocolate Kit Kat as a treat!

    • @rickvanman
      @rickvanman  7 місяців тому

      Thanks for the super chat Antoin, Much appreciated 😊👍❤️ indeed I’ve researched the gallbladder issues heavily, it’s difficult, because I’ve discovered that a high fat low carb based lifestyle is absolutely my ticket to a healthier happier IBS-free life. I tried pretty much everything else out there including low FODMAP but nothing solved the IBS issues, hence I’m pretty reluctant to get rid of the gallbladder unless I absolutely have to. Hopefully a scan will reveal my options.
      NHK world, I’m pretty sure you will enjoy it😊👍 and thanks for the feedback regarding the pottering videos, good to know

    Hi Rick this suits you. I always though you've got a comfy looking home there. Perhaps talking about your experiences of being an introvert would be an interesting topic. I think I'd consider myself an introvert but being ASD diagnosed I'm not sure. Nevertheless I've had a lot of social and workplace difficulties because of it. Hi Rick, do you connect your headset to the PC when you play the Euro Truck? I have high latency with wireless connection. Not sure it’s my router or PC not meeting specs.

      Yes, I found the headset works much better when physically wired to the pc 👍😊

    Glad to see your back, hopefully you can keep encouraging people like me. Still havent been able to let go of sweet things. Packets of Keto Chow. Those powdery packages are filled with very sweet tastes.

      another viewer suggested that food addictions are in fact due to lack of amino acids. i watched the video and expert recommended. one such amino acid is glutamine. i have it because it also heals gut lining. so i tried it again and have to say i didn't feel like eating at all, not just junk. i recently supplementing with chlorella and it has a similar effect because it's full of nutrients your body needs.

    When you said you were taking a break, my heart did sink. It's like when you watch big brother every night for three months and then it's over.
    It sounds like you're still living the same diet, just the filming of it stopped? Is the exercise still going?
    Personally I'd love to hear some topical musings on stuff in the news. I know that may divide an audience. King Charles and Cancer, gaza and ship attacks. Elon Musk and brain chips?

      i was thinking and i think it's colon cancer. that's where the prostate is.

    • @AaronTheHumanist
      @AaronTheHumanist 7 місяців тому

      @xondominique2602 well that's certainly possible. I have an enlarged prostate myself, it's extremely common. Cancer can happen in that, but many other places. I can't help wondering why tell us so much, then stop with the exact spot?

    • @xondominique2602
      @xondominique2602 7 місяців тому

      @@AaronTheHumanist pierce morgan speculated it might be the bladder because it's possible to show up in tests for the prostate. i don't know how it works. i watch the daily mail royals and they mentioned why the exact location of the cancer is a secret. it was something about avoiding intrusive health advise and inquiry into the king's treatment choices because he's know for his alternative inclinations.
