Making A Knife Sheath

  • In this video I make a knife sheath for a knife which I restorated. Sheath is made out of leather, curly birch and reindeer antler.

    how is the leather locked onto the wood part? Wont it loosen and fall off after a while?

      I used polyurethane glue, but i forgot to show it in the video. Traditionally glue has not been used. The leather tightens around the wood surprisingly tight

    What tool are you using at the end to shape the throat and around the wood section? I need to make a replacement sheath for one of my own knives and I just love how that detail comes out

      That was actually leather stitching skiving tool, but I used the other end of the tool, handle part :) you can use almost any tool which is metal and has round shape. Sometimes I use just normal butterknifes handle for that! When you are shaping the leather it has to be still wet
