    Highly anticipated! I want to share a series that has been kicking around in my head for quite some time. You can easily make your own beautiful sheath for your personal Slöjd knife just with simple tools! Last year I´ve made several batches of individual Slöjd knives using Mora 106 blades and others. The handle design is very specifically optimized to give you full palm support while nesting comfortably in your hand when doing reverse cuts. I called it "DogLeg", based on antique pocket knife patterns.
    Knife:
    Part 1: Carving the handle
    Part 2: Fitting the Blade
    Part 3: Finishing the Handle
    Part 4: Glueing up the Knife
    Sheath:
    Part 1: Fitting the Sheath Liner
    Part 2: Carving the Sheath
    Part 3: Decoration and ChipCarving
    Entirely shot on manual lenses for the finest contrast and sharpness! This will be a continuing series, so make sure to stay tuned and support the channel with your likes and shares!

      Always happy to hear that! Share it if you think it was helpful. Producing the series of 8 videos took about 100 hours. I'd love to see it reach more people. Cheers

    I just finished my first knife handle, a Mora Frosts 102 I think. This series was so inspiring to try something completely new and much more unique and technical than what I did. Thanks so much for putting the time into showing us your talents.

    Great tutorial. I tried this sheathe technique this weekend and it mostly worked - I just need to work on my measurements 😂. Another tip is to dye the leather before working with it if you want to dye it.

    • @woodsmansfinest3814
      @woodsmansfinest3814  3 роки тому

      Cool. And a no on dying it first. You can, but I don't recommend that.

      @@woodsmansfinest3814 Thanks for the tip - re. dying - why don't you recommend on doing that first? I have not tried it yet, so any insight is helpful! When I dyed it afterwards, the dye didn't take well in the burnished area that connects with the wood. It looks ok for what I was doing, but not sure how I could get a consistent dye without dying it first?
