I gotta say, you really nailed it with the late 90's/early 00's teen horror film vibe with the intro song choice along with the cinematic editing. Most people would try to 'modernize' it or keep it unedited with the awkward audio cuts in the pc re-release, but I'm glad you kept that 2000's energy in it by picking a different song that kept a similar vibe. (It is only now that I realize the intro music is the pc version due to them losing the rights to use Sum-41's 'Still Waiting'. Lol)
If you succeed in making Kenny escape the monster in the 1st sequence, there will be a new cutscene showing him climb the ladder but still get lock by someone else. This game had many cool ideas included multiple endings based on how many characters survive. Also, there is no true main characters because any of them can be die by monsters or some sequences if you are careless. And when you found their friends body, the character you control will cry or feel sorry for their fate. Really neat. The 2nd one is more linear than giving the freedom like the 1st one did. But the thing I love most about this franchise is the ability to play local coop with your friend. Rarely see the horror games to include this feature.
