I recently found that the mid boss in the hospital, the big slime can be re-spawned if you step out and go back in. And every time you use the club to steal you can get another +1 defense item.
I recommend looking into Patlabor 1 & 2 and some older Gundam titles and others around that time. Some killer gems. They don't do ist likes this anymore. Tho I have the Feelings there is a Renaissance for more unique ost again in anime

This game was brilliant at the time, it was Square's take on Resident Evil and it was actually pretty good.
It's a shame in the sequel they didn't improve on the battle system and just went full resident evil instead. It was unique, had its flaws, but could have turned into something good

This game is such a gem . I could never praise it highly enough
Its one of the few games I never give up hope of one day getting a remaster. I just wanna see it with some spruced up graphics and the ability to play on newer machines. All these old games are so forgotten, they are difficult to play without some kind of code manipulation on pcs.

I've been wanting a remake of this game for the past 15 years. Thanks for giving it more exposition. We are one step closer to the day Squear finally decides to give it a go.
I want a remake so bad as well! But I believe the reason why we haven’t seen it, is one main reason…the original author of Parasite Eve. He was extremely disappointed & despised PE2. He told Square no more with his work being involved which is why 3rd Birthday was created. But it’s about to be 2024 so maybe the author might have a change of heart if he can give a remake the greenlight & actually be involved with the remake where he’s checking the development along with what Square can propose for a contract/fat paycheck for the author. Word on the streets is that the author didn’t even know PE1 was being made until the game was about a month away from being released in stores. Square contacted him and showed him the game which thankfully he was impressed how PE1 adapted his work since PE1 is a sequel to his book.

@@the_e What you said is right, that's why for the 3rd Game, the title is just "The 3rd Birthday", without any Parasite Eve or Mitochondria been mentioned in that game. But at around 2018, SquareEnix Europe bought back the rights from the Author (So yeah, I think as you said, he have a change of heart). So it's possible we can get a new or remake of Parasite Eve in the future. Let's just wait.

I know the CGI might look weird now. But in the 90's, I was horrified when the theater was set on fire and seeing people ablaze, falling from the balcony, etc... this game was/is awesome!
You have to admit, that horse was an absolute unit, going as far as it did while on fire. I'm drinking to that MVP.

Parasite Eve on Duckstation is soo beautiful man, if only somebody made a texture pack for it like they did with parasite eve 2.
The original two Parasite Eve games are probably my favorite of all time in the genre. I'm ashamed to say I've never been able to beat the final bosses of either game without cheats. They were abnormally difficult for me at the time, especially in the second one with the one shot attacks. 31/10 will play over and over again though.
I let out an audible "Oh fuck yeah" when I saw the title and thumbnail. Parasite Eve is such a good fucking game. Beautiful soundtrack, amazing visuals, unique story, and a super fun style of gameplay.
I played this for the very first time recently, and its actually mind blowing how well it still holds up today. Such an amazing game.

A survival horror RPG! I wish I had heard of this game sooner, this is right up my alley. I love horror games and RPGs but it's hard to find them in one package.
Try to check Koudelka or Shadow Hearts series... O well, it can be said that both Koudelka & Shadow Hearts are from the same series, since Koudelka Iasant showed up in the 1st Shadow Hearts.

Is it just me or does anyone else think cut scenes peaked in Square games from the late 90's/early 00's? There's just something about the style I love. I know things these days are more photo realistic so technically "better" but it's just not the same

Couple of things to keep in mind -- inventory getting full? Run back to the precinct and dump excess equipment. Also any treasure chest you empty can be re-used to store stuff you either don't want, or want semi-handy, just not in your personal inventory, until you finish the day. Sometimes you'll be able to, sometimes you'll be blocked.

I loved this game! And I just played it a couple of years ago, so it's not a matter of nostalgia. The atmosphere is really immersive and creepy, story is kinda bonkers but it kept me interested up until the end. Soundtrack is fantastic and I really liked the combat though it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Amazing how well some games hold up no matter how old they are.
I'm bout to boot up the ol' psx emulator right now!😅

Damn, that no-parachute dive off a helicopter into a flaming anti-mitochondria zone to just deliver a clip of ammo was amazing, Daniel Dollis.
My favorite thing about this game is the music. It is so damn amazing. I love all the music from Yoko Shimomura because of Kingdom Hearts. I knew immediately she made this music when i heard it after playing this game a couple years ago.
THIS GAME! I played it at my dad's friend's house, and was so scared. The dude had never made it very far, and didn't realize how freaky it got. So I was in the other room, being scared of stuff that he didn't realize was in it hahaha
I played this game when it first came out. It was around Christmas, and I specifically remember the snow outside. It was around 11 at night, the glow of my 15" crt television illuminating my face and the joy I had beating this game.
Maybe my top game. If not it's 2nd place. Thanks for the memories.

Maus is one of the very few youtubers i actually watch the entire 40 min video and feel like it wasnt long enough. Make it 90min an ill just grab some popcorn.

One of my favorite games. Considering this game was a ps1 one game it looks incredible.
It's pretty impressive you beat it considering you didn't know how to mod your guns!
Mod the guns right and they become absolutely broken and OP
Not really impressive. you can beat the game just by using powers and not missing out on the strong weapons you get peppered through the game. knowing how to mod your weapons and using your level ups to solely increase your weapon damage is what makes NG+ exclusive bosses feasible.

Well, like probably 90% of any Pe players ever, does not seem like Maus got the info about upgrading your weapons at the station, considering he only found out about "renaming" stuff after Day 5
Also, Daniel is clearly MVP at the end, overall a great guy, considering he lost his wife in a horrific disaster just 3 days before all that.

Honestly, Christmaus is not a terrible idea. Play a game that takes place during Christmas in December, thematic but reasonable.

The second Parasite Eve game was super fun too (or maybe I just misremember it as fun). Still RPG elements, but moves more in the direction of Resident Evil.

Hoooo boi do I have a soft spot in my heart for Parasite Eve. Now most gamers by now know this is an underrated classic that not many had access to back in the day due to regional restrictions and what not.
Well alow ,e to add some personal flavour. Not only did I get a copy as a kid from a dodgy man with a duffel bag full of knock off VHS tapes and CD-ROM rips but that copy was region locked. However my older bros found a weird workaround. We just set the TV to black and white and for whatever reason it broke the PAL region lock protection.
So basically I got to play Parasite Eve when it was new but in an art noir black and white style. Back then as a kid it annoyed the bejesus out of my bros and I but honestly having played the game in full colour after those early days, the game positively slaps in black and white.
Also the knowledge around RNA, mitochondria and DNA Parasite Eve gave me helped massively in my science classes back then, teachers were very impressed. But hur dur video games/TV does not teach you anything. Well, depends on what you consume say I.
Anyway. Kudos to anyone who read that nostalgic yarn and now to watch the video as my pizza cooks. Meat feast with extra bacon and bbq base. Nom nom.
I remembered something. At one point you get a grenade launcher in the game, it”s high power but single shot capacity combined with the games mechanic makes it bit of a useless weapon. My older bros swore by the end game rifle with upgrades. But thing is, you get the grenade launcher earlier than the OP rifle and most importantly there’s a weapon upgrade item you can use to turn the single shot GL into a triple shot powerhouse.
Being the younger of 3 brothers I normally never did outthink my older bros strats but if that triple shot GL is not the automatic MVP for any player that gets to wield it in Parasite Eve.
Waiting for a 90's fixed camera horror game renaissance.

I'm so glad this game is starting to get more attention. This is one of the best games ever made. I have a lot of nostalgia for this game. I spent hours as a 10 year old trying to figure this game out. As a kid, I never made it passed the gun shop because I didn't know what to do. I also didn't have a memory card at the time, so every time I played this game I had to start from the beginning. The music, the art, the vibe, the game play, it summarizes my childhood in a weird way.
This got some real 1st DMC vibes, except I can count the polygons!
This, the sequel, the first two Digimon World games, The Legend of Dragoon and FFIX were my favourite PS1 games. They're still favourites to go back to now and then.

Man, seeing old Square games like Parasite Eve really makes me miss the old Final Fantasy games. I hope Parasite Eve gets a remake same way FFVII did. I personally know nothing about Parasite Eve until this video, and I absolutely love it.

I never shut up about how disappointed I am that Parasite Eve hasn't gotten a remake or remaster yet, and that the IP wasn't carried past 3rd Birthday. Such a perfect fusion of Final Fantasy RPG elements and Resident Evil levels of shock, gore, and over the top story.
11:38 Statisticly speaking, we dont know if we can still feel as jelly. but alot other organisms on this space rock we call home are jelly and they seems to function fine.
and generally speaking, burning is considered to be "negative thing to happen". but as welder i can say, burning isnt that bad, the spalsh of molten steel sure it hurst for split second but after it burns into your skin, you dont feel it anymore.
