Never In my life would I thought that microwaved rice socks and a guitar pick would come in so clutch at laptop repair glue came off real easy
Lol best comment ever.
Big thumbs up for you. Did it myself following you’re instructions and it turns out because of a fall it was only the lcd cable detached so no new screen needed and also no money spent on repairs. Thanx.
did it detach from behind the screen or inside the laptop where the battery is
@@SincerestSawa behind the screen. You have to disassemble it and take the screen off completely
Good work, thats an easy fix!
that's why I always secure the connector with a small piece of tape when I replace the display :) The original adhesive rarely works more than once.
Just did a first time replacement with your help! Thank you!!! only struggle was I have a 40 pin connector which is slightly different to disconnect but I figured it out.
Thanks for the video. One of the easiest screen replacements I have ever done. Only difference was the adhesive tabs were on the top and not the bottom
You didn’t unplug the battery first before doing this procedure?
PLEASE BEWARE : This method is very dangerous because your battery is still connected and ready to fry your machine. Please always remove the back plate, disconnect the battery first and then proceed. I learned this $1200 lesson frying my GPU trying this gimmicky way.
Do I make sure I drain the battery completely…. I still use my laptop with a hdmi plugged into my TV
@@zigyv7100he’s not talking about the charging brick, rather the internal battery inside the computer, you can easily disconnect this from the motherboard by unplugging the pins. Look up “asus g15 battery replacement” and see how they unplug the pins (don’t remove the entire battery) after that hold the power button for 5-10 seconds to drain any remaining power in the system or components, then you are good to go, good luck 👍🏼
Same, My laptop wont even start now 😭
What do you mean by backplate and disconnecting the battery?
@@amelies1385open up the backside (backplate) of laptop, and there will be a connector between for the battery, just disconnect it
Thanks mate, thanks to this video I ordered a screen and put it up myself, saving money
does it work for rog scar 3 144hz ips panel
@@AitanaPerez-bj6hp I found my screen on a given site but it wasn't perfectly suited to my model of laptop, and I asked the seller if this screen would fit my laptop, he said it should, and it did, so just ask the seller
It was e bay
Super helpful. Lucky for us it was the loose ribbon cable. Thanks for this!
hell yeah bro you are the goat why did i think this was hard smh wish i coould subscribe 50 times respect bro
Thanks bro.
Always first disconnect the battery. Another way you can easily to kill half components of laptop including hub, multi controller, network, audio codec etc.🎉
You save 300 dollars for me! the adhesive tip is really useful.
Glad you got yours fixed =)
Purchased one brand new (ASUS TUF A15) and it always has an issue where the screen flickers when open at a certain point. Thanks for the video as this should help me work out if a connector is loose.
Great tutorial! Thank you!
Bro, Today dell technician changed my laptop display screen. But the brightness is not as before. Brightness is less in this. Is it common or the screen is fake?
I’ve dented the top lid of my Strix G16. Screen works fine but is there anyway for me to replace that lid?
Do we need to disconnect the battery?
i was wondering the same, when i called a computer repair place they said to disconnect the batter when doing this, even just to reseat the display cable or ribbon
Yes, of course
RIP, I didn’t disconnect the battery and now I think my laptop is dead
@@gargy2002 I disconnected everything but the battery was left it. Everything looks good but when I plus the power back in to turn it on nothing happens at all…
@@gargy2002 yep nothing
This seems like the perfect place to ask lmao. You think I could cut out a section of the back plate, put a 30 in 40 out LVDS/EDP (I don’t know which this uses) adapter and make the whole display removable? I wanna be able to take the screen out use it as a 2nd monitor and set the laptop aside.
Everything tells me it’s doable but I don’t know what other cables other than camera and RGB I’d have to worry about, also moving the cable around the heatsink to the back plate without it snagging on anything or resting on something important.
Thank you for making this video and explaining the replacement. My ROG laptop fell off my coffee table when I tripped over the power adapter cable and the screen stopped working. I only have one monitor for my desktop and have been remoting into my laptop with TeamViewer but it times out and disconnects so I’m glad to find your screen replacement video.
Will this same display fit for G531G
Where do you get that replacement adhesive? Part #?
I cut the used one shorter and just reinstalled.
Thx bro you saved my life
You are welcome bro.
Thanks
Man , can i get in touch with you to get your opinion on something
G512 mode of screen the same, my lcs works only in 60hz so bios and windows boot don't display anything except the same bar u showed
What if you don't have a screen image and the orange button is blinking? Strix Scar 2021 (G533Q)
hi, any ideas on screen replacement on rog zephyrus g14 ga402?
I think my 40 pin connector might be damaged it will not yurn on the screen. Computer is on now but screen isn't working
How do I stop the lcd light shining from the back on the laptop lid?
is it 144hz
i got the 60hz version can i swap it with the 120hz or 144 hrz ver screen?
Thats a good question, I am not sure to be honest.
Hey man, i got the exact laptop and exact incident (i dropped it while inside a bag) the only difference is that the laptop makes a boot sound but the lcd is just black but when i use a flashlight i can see the lockscreen, so i assume the lcd backlit got f’d up, is this kind of problem repairable or i had to replace a new lcd?
Please reply
Same problem bro.
You already fix your laptop?
@@johnneilafable2929 no, but found a guy who can fix it, he said it could be the flex cable loose or worse the lcd itself
So your laptop is working now?
@@johnneilafable2929 no, dont have the money yet
이거 보고 알리에서 시켯음... 도전해 볼게요!!!
How much cost
Depends where you buy it.
I threw away the fucking black adhesive tape that I took 30 mins to fucking remove
Could have saved even more money if he hadn't bought a the garbage Asus puts out.
Lol amen.
