I agree with your assessment wholeheartedly. I love your comments on theme and story. My storyline during play was 'chuck the professor in the engine and aim for the mail ship. they don't shoot back.'.
Oh my gosh there's so much hype around this game in the solo community all of a sudden. I just bought Spirit Island but this also looks like a must have! Hopefully there will still be stock next month!
Absolutely! It was a big hit when the 2nd edition was released, but I "missed the boat" on that, so to speak. Glad I finally have a copy & can play it! Hope you get to play it soon as well! :)
There is a new edition at the printers right now with lots of additional content. www.kickstarter.com/projects/vpg/nemos-war-journeys-end-expansion-and-ultimate-edition/description
Hope you get the chance to purchase & play it soon!! Update: So... not like I'd like to be a "bad" influence or anything, but the pledge manager is currently still open for late backers for the Ultimate Edition scheduled to come out later this year! Not sure what pricing is out by you, but here the inclusion of the 3 current expansions and new larger expansion with the base game included is all extremely well priced via KS. Pricey, for sure, but also an amazing deal if you're planning on picking up everything! 😉
Agree with all your comments on this one, it's almost the most perfect solo game ever. Many paths to follow and a must for board gamers that enjoy 20000 Leagues Under the Sea. The mini expansions add extra tasks and paths, well worth the time spent playing. Ninety minutes....Hmm!!
@@tabletoptokki Bold and Caring, then either of the other two. Bold and Caring opens up different paths. Bold or Adventure as it's called is kind of War and Discovery combined. I haven't tried Humanist yet. The others add new characters and events, the more the merrier.
@@tabletoptokki Second recommendation, if you haven't already done it, read 20000 Leagues Under the Sea, or a synopsis of it, you'll understand Nemo's motivations a lot better and the world he lived in and why he was doing what he was doing.
Unless you're me... then it's "just bad die rolls and a lot of crying..." 😂 A lot of strategy in the preparation for various actions, but the resolutions of actions are quite straightforward when using the references provided! Hence the... "just". ^^
I liked it. However, I found that there was too much randomness with the dice. Also, I felt like manipulating the dice result never panned out for me. Maybe I was just unlucky in my plays. 😄 thanks for the video.
Dice can definitely feel that way and sometimes you are just SOL. 😅 With Nemo's War the more I play, the more I am finding ways to prepare for the worst, i.e. placement of ships out on the board is really key for combat rolls & reserving your crew for the right times in a pinch helps to mitigate some of the other areas as well! ^^

Ahahaha I love that narrative! 🤭
In my top 3 solo games.
Hell yeah! What are your other two?? 😊

@@AlanEmrich Just late backed this today. Going to be hard being patient for it to come out.
From the playthrough and the review, this is obviously a great game. A bit pricey over here, so it is now my #1 "Save up to buy this" game
Hope you get the chance to purchase & play it soon!!

Can't wait to try the expansions!!! Any you'd recommend first, or just get them all? ^^
