I think you should include 100% volume comparisons between speakers. It can help to show distortion (and other undesirable audio effects correlated with high volume), and also it's possible that different speakers use different volume scaling.
Sony has always been my favourite brand. I just bought the XB100 and so far I’m very impressed with the sound. I plan to use it in my car, as my UConnect is shot so until I can afford to fix it, this will come in very handy.
Just bought the XB13 but saw a XB100 in another store. Was amazed how well the 100 sounds in the store even better than higher priced other models but I wasn’t sure so I purchased a 13 at another store. Thanks for the video bc they have a great return policy
@@luusieuphung I did! Word of advice make sure your device has great tone adjustments. The xb100 recognized tone adjustment on your device and it blocks adjustments on itself
@@luusieuphung forgot to say you may consider getting 2 of them which you can pair in stereo. AGAIN! It’s vital important that your device has great tone adjustment or they both will sound flat. If your device doesn’t then you can adjust the equalizer in the app and they’ll have you smiling from ear to ear. Enjoy!

We have the XB10 and the XB13. The Lady bought them without noticing the model name, separately over time. I noticed the Add function on the 10, then found the 13 has a similar function with a long press on BT pair button. This far I haven't been able to get them to do either double mono or stereo, just back and forth between either selected. Had hoped they would keep their chaining similar between models. Other models listed support 2 different methods, party connect and party chain. Neither of these are listed on that, just has add on the older and they don't call it anything on the that I can see , just long press to connect a second and somewhere you're meant to choose between mirroring and stereo as they chain to each other. Anyway guess I have to buy more. One of a similar size that has whichever proprietary chain method name they seem to be sticking with (most new models.) That FAQ about the 2 methods have many supported models listed for each method, interworking with other chain or connect speaker models of same method. These 2 seem to claim to hook to others of exactly the same model, and neither party chain or connect, at least they aren't listed on Sonys FAQ for those branded protocols today.
Volume capacity is different but that doesnt say much about the actual audio quality. Any notable difference in that? And how does the battery compare? I would rather have the xb13 with lower volume if it means its holds a charge longer.
XB13 is currently on sale for only 30€ here in EU. The XB100 is 65€. I still went with the XB13, it suits my needs. The XB100 is better, but not twice as good.

Even though I'm saving up money for a new guitar, I just might have to grab this little speaker. It sounds great. I know things like audio books would sound very nice on it. The difference between the two speakers is like night and day. I don't currently own any of the speakers, so can grab the xb100 if I wish. Thanks again for a very nice video.
Was going to get the xb100 for $47 but I ended up getting the xb13 because I was able to snatch 2 xb13 for $37 so I think 2 xb13 paired together will beat 1 xb100 speaker. Am I wrong?
@@Fajitaman69 yes I did and although one speaker may not be loud enough for some people , pairing 2 xb13 together really brings them to a sweet spot. 2 of them paired together sounds just a little bit lower than one Wonderboom 3 speaker but with much better bass. I bought them to install them for my bike . In terms of sound quality , I think the wonderboom 3 sounds louder , cleaner and more balanced . I suggest if you find 2 xb13 a lot cheaper than the xb100 or the wonderboom 3 , then go for it .
2 Xb13 connected in stereo are definetly better... The sound rises to a higher level. You can't get this stereo effect with any other BT-speakers... I got the Xb10 and Xb13 and both twice for pairing to stereo... I like them.
if you set up two speakers in a webcam meeting type settings.. would it be using TWO mics as well? Wondering if you could actually put two of these things on a meeting table and have a two mic set up to get everyones voices in a meeting
I love the navy color on the XB 13 wish more colors were available on the xb100 they brought the gray back I have all of them XB 10, 12, 13, and 100 great bathroom speakers.

Ok so I have both, the only major upgrade is the speaker phone, Yes, the speaker phone is excellent in XB100. Otherwise, there is no other reason to upgrade in my humble opinion.

I think the XB-13 has a cleaner sound, and comparing the two at 50% volume is nonsense. It depends on the volume scaling with the buttons. Above 50% volume, the XB-100 may gain less than the XB-13. It is quite possible that the XB-13 at 100% volume can almost catch up with the XB-100. According to listening, one thing is undeniable, the XB-100 has a different equalization curve and emphasizes the unpleasant 1kHz - 5kHz frequencies sensitive to the human ear, and I don't like that in speakers. If someone wants a more penetrating and emotionally louder reproduction, which the frequencies sensitive to the human ear can do, they buy the XB-100, if someone wants a cleaner and more natural presentation of music, they buy maybe two XB-13s for stereo mode.
i mean i can undestand, that you cant stereo pair them together, because the xb100 sounds different to the xb13 and if you stereo pair them together, the one side with the srs xb 100 sounds much better and the other side sounds worse, so it isnt actually stereo so yes, its logical,says the srs xb12 user

For all those that can't grow beards and do not know the struggles of trimming your beards let me break it down you have an etch a Sketch you got a simple picture you can draw with this etch a sketch say a house you start drawing and you mess up a little bit on the left side but if you make the right side match you're okay and then you mess up on the other side and you have to match it on the other side as well and at the end of it it's just easier to shake the etch a sketch and have a clean slate you already mad you spend a lot of time and you still don't have what you wanted and so you just accept the fact that you screwed up and you just shave your whole face

Does anyone know if they just changed from a passive radiator in the XB13 to regular port in the XB100. In the demo I can see a radiator poking out of the bottom of the xb13 but I don't see the same thing happening with the XB100. It could just be that the XB100 has a larger radiator that has less excursion for more output.
Oh i dont agree. 13 was much better....i returned my 100 to the store and ordered a nzw 13. I lost my previous 13. I want it back. 100 is too quiet. 13 was louder.
Thanks for letting me know the xb100 has a start up sound. As I'm blind, it is great that the speaker does make a sound when starting up. Not all bluetooth speakers do this. Since I can't see the light when the speaker is on, without the start up sound, a blind person would have a hard time knowing if the speaker were on or not.

Thank you for the review and comparison of these two SONY mini bluetooth speakers. Before see your review, I assume the SONY srs-XB13 is successor of the srs-xb100. And also in my country srs-xb13 price a bit higher than srs-xb100, which are US$ 63.06 vs US$ 62,5. I can't see the different of them. Really in term of specs, I read them on SONY official website, they both identical, not much, not less. The driver unit size exactly similar, 46 mm. After see them on your video, there are only 3 things in differences, the texture of Speaker Body : srs-xb100 has textured surface and srs-xb13 has flat surface, The SONY logo : srs-xb100 carved SONY log and srs-xb13 white printed SONY logo. The frame around speaker mesh : srs-xb13 has bolder frame than srs-xb100. It's very weird after your testing, xb100 can sounds better than xb13. Logically, they both should sounds equal. But, thank you again for your honest and great comparison review
Can you review this speaker? It’s called Zealot S67 I had it for almost 2 years and it’s super good still. Watch out tho this thing gets LOUD ASF also the sound is amazing and the BASS 🫠🫠🫠
Thank you. I don't think a mike is that useful when you get calls. The phone mike is always there after all (which is also better quality when you switch the sound from XB100). Now talking sound quality wise it still sound a bit "boxy" but it is indeed way better than the old one. I just bought 2 for stereo. And the point was I want to take music close to the shower which is why I want to buy a new product. It would have been nice to mention this to people (did I miss it ?). XB100 is IP67 (I don't know for XB13) Won't pour water directly on it of course but should it happen not muuch to worry about Cheers.

Yeah i got this little guy XB100 in black still waiting on it... i bought it mainly of the 16 hours battery it has or it claims lol as i need a speaker for work to play my Iron Maiden or other thrash bands like nuclear assault etc umm as i work over nights shift or about start them again as i ask to go back i work in retail and having this little speaker that i can strap on my cart or just place on something and jam out while stocking is gonna be awesome... i have a pill style sony speaker i used for years, but the battery says 12 hours but i get maybe 5 hours out of it so im hoping the XB100 does me a full 8 hours shift lol so yeah and also its smaller to easy to carry to work as well and also it has a nice little strap and honestly i love the design of it.
i have both they are similar in max volume or probably the xb13 sometimes slightly louder also slightly satisfying bass. im a lil bit disappointed in xb100 not worth the upgrade tbh

Personally I would wait for the WiFi version so I could integrate it with my smart home. It will also most likely sound better due to Dolby Atmos.

Thank you for the review and comparison of these two SONY mini bluetooth speakers. Before see your review, I assume the SONY srs-XB13 is successor of the srs-xb100. And also in my country srs-xb13 price a bit higher than srs-xb100, which are US$ 63.06 vs US$ 62,5. I can't see the different of them. Really in term of specs, I read them on SONY official website, they both identical, not much, not less. The driver unit size exactly similar, 46 mm.
After see them on your video, there are only 3 things in differences, the texture of Speaker Body : srs-xb100 has textured surface and srs-xb13 has flat surface, The SONY logo : srs-xb100 carved SONY log and srs-xb13 white printed SONY logo. The frame around speaker mesh : srs-xb13 has bolder frame than srs-xb100.
It's very weird after your testing, xb100 can sounds better than xb13. Logically, they both should sounds equal.

Can you review this speaker? It’s called Zealot S67 I had it for almost 2 years and it’s super good still. Watch out tho this thing gets LOUD ASF also the sound is amazing and the BASS 🫠🫠🫠

I don't think a mike is that useful when you get calls. The phone mike is always there after all (which is also better quality when you switch the sound from XB100).
Now talking sound quality wise it still sound a bit "boxy" but it is indeed way better than the old one.
I just bought 2 for stereo.
And the point was I want to take music close to the shower which is why I want to buy a new product.
It would have been nice to mention this to people (did I miss it ?). XB100 is IP67 (I don't know for XB13)
Won't pour water directly on it of course but should it happen not muuch to worry about

The xb10 is rubberized and feels more premium. I remember when I bought the xb13 I was disappointed by the build quality and sound

Yeah i got this little guy XB100 in black still waiting on it... i bought it mainly of the 16 hours battery it has or it claims lol as i need a speaker for work to play my Iron Maiden or other thrash bands like nuclear assault etc umm as i work over nights shift or about start them again as i ask to go back i work in retail and having this little speaker that i can strap on my cart or just place on something and jam out while stocking is gonna be awesome... i have a pill style sony speaker i used for years, but the battery says 12 hours but i get maybe 5 hours out of it so im hoping the XB100 does me a full 8 hours shift lol so yeah and also its smaller to easy to carry to work as well and also it has a nice little strap and honestly i love the design of it.

i have both they are similar in max volume or probably the xb13 sometimes slightly louder also slightly satisfying bass. im a lil bit disappointed in xb100 not worth the upgrade tbh
Yeah man .....this guys boasts that xb100 has louder volume but sony has not mentioned this anywhere and neither in any other reviews it is said.

I was about to get the xb13, but then saw thr xb100 for the same price (48.99 vs 49.99) as of right now on Amazon and went for the xb100 instead

I was also chasing for that info and couldn't find it on product page at sony site nor on resellers sites. A video however claims it is 5W.

XB100 has garbage Bluetooth pairing issues. Stay clear, I tried 2 separate units and I will swap mine for an equivalent Bose or JBL

I know why it is called xb 100, because you can't hear anything from it below 100 volume, xb100 is too low in sound my OnePlus 12r sounds louder than Sony xb 100

I have this over the JBL Clip 4. It has a great quality but I regretted it because its bass is too much.
Too much bass? This speaker is tiny
@bennivideo2164 i found out that the bass resonates and it vibrates as hell when you placed it on a weak surface. On a solid surface it's fine.
