Soundcore X600 is BY FAR the best bluetooth speaker I've tried/used till date. Enough clarity that I don't miss my wired openbacks too much + loud with strong enough bass for everyone sitting around a campfire to feel the vibration. Add to that- waterproof, aux in, bluetooth 5.3 with LDAC, mic for calls & 11hr avg battery life. Portability wasn't an issue for me either as it easily fits in any bag that can fit a 14inch laptop. The spatial audio surround effect is pretty good too. I initially thought it'd be gimmicky like most such features are, esp one from a single bluetooth speaker. And that's what it sells for in the real world. Tons of people have gotten them for $80. That's what it's worth and that's the level it competes at. For $100 it's a good speaker, if you don't mind the short battery life and the total lack of any bass. It does have good clarity so it's excellent for listening to podcasts and such. For music it's very mediocre. And soundcore is just shady and obnoxious as a company. I would avoid them at this point. I picked one up at costco for $100. With all it's gimmicky "spatial audio" 5 drivers and "bass up" (all nonsense) it doesn't even have as much bass a 5 year old $100 bose soundlink flex with one driver. Barely gets any louder either. It's not even in the best 3 speakers that soundcore makes. It's all hype and marketing. Soundcore refunded me $20 to keep it. So I paid $80. gave it to my kid. Plenty good for a child.

First time watching a video of yours. I'm very impressed! Great comments and good thorough coverage of all price ranges. 🙂 I have a Soundcore Select 4 Go coming my way for Christmas so really looking forward to it. I've had the Soundcore Motion + for several years now and absolutely love it! Once you EQ it yourself, because none of the standard EQ settings are particularly good, it gets amazing. Blows my Bose Mini away! I tend to avoid Beats and Apple products for speakers and headphones because the cost to value ratio is hard for me to handle , especially when I'm on a limited budget. It looks like JBL is a great option also though. Although the JBL Flip 6 is $170 in Canada so that makes it pretty expensive here. Thanks again for the excellent video!
Hello, thank you for this review, I am looking for something to watch movies with quality sound. What do you recommend? I would love the Sonos Move 2, but I think it is no longer as portable between the Flex 2 and the x600 or what other recommendation do you have, no more than the size of the x600 since thank you very much
I didnt feel like you said much about bose soundlink flex se much. 😢 I checked the sound at the Costco store and i felt the bass was not clear anymore with much higher volume. Wonder if it was just at the store or it is the problem for this speaker.
My plan is to purchase Adam Audio D3Vs for my desktop. It's all about the ribbon tweeter. I've owned and loved the Heil air motion transformers since they were introduced. I'm looking forward to your review!
Is the bose flex 2 really THAT great? I'm always tempted to buy it since i have a Bose Soundlink max and it's an absolute beast, the best speaker that i've had, and i wan't something as good but smaller, the only problem though is that i don't tend to like mono speakers, what do you think about that? Do you think that, only considering sound quality (not volume or bass), there is a better speaker than the bose flex 2 for about the same size? (Not price, only size and sound quality).
If you want stereo and a small package, then the other clear option is the Marshall Emberton II. I think I prefer the overall sound of the Soundlink Flex more, but it’s very close. I have also heard good things about this speaker, although I have not tested it: amzn.to/4i1KtvM
For what it’s worth, I’ve listened to “stereo” Bluetooth speakers at around the same size as the Flex. I personally find the Flex sounded more rich and full. In reality you’re not going to get true stereo sonically in one speaker 10” or less wide. True stereo needs to have speakers spaced apart. I have two Flexes and they sound amazing in stereo and also stand alone.
Since it's Black Friday I'm looking at either the bose soundlink flex 2 for $120, the ue wonderboom 4 for $80, the ue boom 4 for $100, or the beats pill for $100. Which one do you think would be the best choice? Do you think the bose is worth the extra $20 or would i be fine with the pill or boom 4? I am a little tempted to choose the wonderboom or boom because of the unique 360 audio design, but if the bose sounds better I might end up going for the higher price but better audio.
Out of all those options, I’d be tempted by the Bose. I’ve never tried the Boom 4 tho, but it looks like another solid contender. I think the sound quality of the Bose combined with the Bose having an EQ makes it the most likely winner since you can adjust it to your tastes. The Boom only has 4 preset EQ modes. TBH I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I’d avoid the pill since there is no EQ and it gets pretty shrill at higher volumes (unless you don’t mind that and really want a lot of bass)
Flex by a mile. I’ve listened to the UE speakers at Beat Buy, and they sound like tin cans. NO bass! And frankly, not very clean and controlled mids and treble.
can you tell me about the jbl boombox 3, i have seen it has a portable charger for your phone but id like to know if this is for a usb cable or usb c etc so i can have the right cable before i buy. i cannot seem to find the answer to this anywhere
@@aphrodite1858 - great question. I really should have mentioned this because it’s one way the Boombox 3 is unique. It takes mains power supply to charge (like the old school two prong cable that plugs into a printer). To charge devices, it has a single USB-A socket.
Interesting. I just sent a Bose Soundlink Micro back because when I played it side to side with that Anker you said was tinny, I had to listen VERY hard to tell the difference and really couldn't lolol I'm a tone snob musician to boot so I do have some ears. Strange you found it to sound tinny. Might have to check out that other one now 😁
I think you did a great job with this roundup. Very challenging endeavor indeed. It would have been helpful to some viewers to hear you mention alternatives to JBL Party box 3, such as the Wking X20. It's s half of the price of the JBL with all of the quality. I also have a pair of the Soundcore Boom 2 and enjoy them. However, I have discovered that with bass heavy music, their woofer distorts badly after 60% volume. I own several similarly sized bluetooth speakers that don't have this issue. Keep up the good work, and I have subscribed to look forward to more of your content.
I have the JBL BoomBox and it's great, you need to place it next to a wall for the bass to really hit, if it's just out in the open lacking in the bass... but my biggest issue is the AUX delay. I try to use it with a little karaoke setup and the mic delay is horrendous. shame, cuz it's my loudest most portable speaker.
thank you - a very good comparison! If you compare them with the Kanto Ora for a stationary use - would you consider the Ora a better solution or will a Bose Soundlink Max outperform it?
Kanto extends both lower and higher and it's a stereo pair so there's real stereo imaging to speak of. Unless you need something portable the Kanto would be better. You can consider the Kali lp unf too if you end up going the desktop route and don't mind going bigger than the ora.
@@aladdinswunderlampe I can't compare them directly by listening but they've both been measured. The Kali by Erin at Erin's audio corner on a very precise measurement system and came out as the best studio monitors in class measured to date. Can be successfully used for semi serious music production. The Kanto have been measured by audioholics and one Korean site and funnily enough look even better in terms of frequency response, but that's due to the graph smoothing and lower resolution measurements. They both are definitely more than solid but can't tell how close they get. The Kali will definitely go louder before distorting. They're larger, have tuning switches for different placement scenarios, Bluetooth and a usb c port and they might actually be cheaper depending on the market. I was here a few days ago looking for desktop speakers, watched a couple of Jasper's videos and ended up going with the Kali. I'm super impressed.
I think you can also cover Harman Kardon Go+Play 3 series. I have heard this in person and it blew my mind right away ! It is on a great sale right now.
I have a speaker that I want to suggest. That is the Harman Kardon go play 3. It is more an indoor speaker but cheaper than boombox and much more accurate sounding.
I got the Jbl BB3 on sale and its the best BT speaker I have, the bass is just amazing and the high and mids sound more than great. Its is heavy but I have big kids they help me carry it arround.
I know you can't cover all speakers in a comparison like this. But if you haven't listened to the EarFun UBOOM X yet, I recommend you do so. I think it certainly would have earned a place in your video.
Thanks for this! I encourage others to keep on letting me know what I missed, I’ll for sure make a follow up at some point and include picks from the comments. 👍👍
Wish you had some tribit, they are more reputable than anker in the sound department, especially the blast line being more powerful than the jbl boombox
Purchased the JBL boombox 3 Witi and was blown away, then I decided too get the Bose sound link max on Black Friday and was pretty disappointed. JBL is king of bass
I was able to cop a refurnished boom 2 from the manufacturer for $75. When it arrived it was in PRISTINE condition. Shocked, much? Lol Anyway, the first few days it sounded good. I had it on signature with bass up. Then I decided to mess with the custom. Now I can say that this speaker sounds pretty close to incredible. Especially when you consider the size, the weight, the volume it produces, the bass and last but not least the cost. Even at retail this speaker punches way above its weight. Btw, I might be in the minority about this but the boom 2 sounds better with the bass up OFF. Cheers
@@DominikReviews The Motion+ has plenty of sparkle. A lot. In fact the only complaint that I've heard for it is that it can benefit from a little more bass. AptX is good. Let's not forget that hardware matters too.
@@DominikReviews Then you have a defected model. Never ever heard of this in reviews or in comments from the people. It's always been the bass. And from my experience good EQing goes a long way.
If you really want to test a speaker, play "Housing, Luxury, Energy" by King Buzzo & Trevor Dunn. Once the bass kicks in (around 45 seconds in), inferior speakers will utterly spaz out 😂
Ha, ha, I was expecting a bass thunderstorm, but it was a nice piece of music. Sounds good on my stereo system at home. The bass is deep, but very restrained.
I have 2 of THE BOSE MAX! They are UNRIVALED in Fidelity, Bass, sound Quality for DECADES! I don't/ and won't trust any company, but BOSE. And YES. They do pair in stereo and party modes.
@@2tpw2 over my many years of Bluetooth speakers, I’ve noticed having a one bigger speaker is better than two smaller speakers. You lose a lot of depth and bass, even though you have them stereo separated, compared to a single larger speaker. Have you tried the JBL Boombox 3?

I purchased a Boom2 & felt like I got f?!ked without being kissed. It’s a good value speaker but leaves me wanting more where sound quality is concerned. The single racetrack driver & dual tweeters are highly overrated. Using the stock EQ it sounds dull & muddy with no midrange presence. Dual divers & tweeters will offer better sound quality. Speaker manufacturers should do away with this design.

Ah fair - I had forgotten the old version had an older version of Bluetooth, which may mean it has worse connectivity
I have also heard good things about this speaker, although I have not tested it:
amzn.to/4i1KtvM
For what it’s worth, I’ve listened to “stereo” Bluetooth speakers at around the same size as the Flex. I personally find the Flex sounded more rich and full. In reality you’re not going to get true stereo sonically in one speaker 10” or less wide. True stereo needs to have speakers spaced apart. I have two Flexes and they sound amazing in stereo and also stand alone.
@joelf5565 i know that but it still somewhat noticeable and the thing that changes mostly is the soundstage, not the stereo separation.
Do you recommend Tribit speakers?
I have not used them, but I have heard good things!
Bose SoundLink Flex 2 or JBL Flip 6?
Soundlink Flex 2 if $$ is no a factor
i have many speakers but after i bought the bose max it is the best .has a wide sound stage great bass and good highs and mids all well balanced
Good review!!! But why no Sony "ult field 1"???
I should have had them! Will try to include them next time.
can you tell me about the jbl boombox 3, i have seen it has a portable charger for your phone but id like to know if this is for a usb cable or usb c etc so i can have the right cable before i buy. i cannot seem to find the answer to this anywhere
@@aphrodite1858 - great question. I really should have mentioned this because it’s one way the Boombox 3 is unique. It takes mains power supply to charge (like the old school two prong cable that plugs into a printer). To charge devices, it has a single USB-A socket.
Tribit and earfun speakers are missing.
Will check them out!
Might have to check out that other one now 😁
Hrm great breakdown, wish there was a Miniroll here too.
Great video. Thanks man!
Thank you for this! Really appreciate your support and the helpful feedback.
@@zaq9339 thank you very much, appreciate
@@zaq9339 so would you say, the Kali lp unf will exceed the quality of the Kanto Ora?
@@zaq9339 now you are testing the Adam Audio D3Vs - is it so far worth the wait?
Really like the way you are putting the channel together ... KEEP GOING
Thank you! I’m having fun and learning a ton. 🙏 really appreciate how supportive so many people have been.
No Harman Kardon ? Any reason (price)? One of the best in the market
I have one coming!
What about the Bogasing G4?
I have not tried them but will take a look!
What a great video. Great reviews of the speakers, no real bias. Just truth in a positive manner. Well done
Thank you for the kind note!
I think you can also cover Harman Kardon Go+Play 3 series. I have heard this in person and it blew my mind right away ! It is on a great sale right now.
Thanks for this note! Will check them out!
I have a speaker that I want to suggest. That is the Harman Kardon go play 3. It is more an indoor speaker but cheaper than boombox and much more accurate sounding.
Thank you! I will check it out
I got the Jbl BB3 on sale and its the best BT speaker I have, the bass is just amazing and the high and mids sound more than great. Its is heavy but I have big kids they help me carry it arround.
what would you chose jbl charge 5 or bose soundlink flex 2?
btw great vid
Thanks! If you’re optimizing for clarity of sound, go for the Bose. If you want volume and bass, go for the charge 5
thank you for the reply❤
i'll go with the bose
Wow Thank you Jasper. So well done! I’ll be back!
Minirigs are not „the popular“ Bluetooth speaker but I would recommend you to give them a try. They play in another league soundwise.
Thank you for this! I’ll check them out 👍
I have both Marshall and Bose units. I test them in the same room, actually enjoy Marshall better than Bose. Marshall just has a bit solid sound. 😊
Tribit?
I was able to cop a refurnished boom 2 from the manufacturer for $75. When it arrived it was in PRISTINE condition. Shocked, much? Lol
Anyway, the first few days it sounded good.
Cheers
Tribit stormbox blast is the best sub $150 speaker on the market.
I have one on order!
Marshall emberton is enough for me not loud, just chill volume on my room👌
Where is tribit micro 2?
The legendary motion plus Hires APTXHD takes away half of those speakers
Is this the one you’re referring to? I should have added it! Will try to include it in my next one - thank you 👍

lack of sparkle makes aptx hd useless
@@DominikReviews The Motion+ has plenty of sparkle. A lot. In fact the only complaint that I've heard for it is that it can benefit from a little more bass. AptX is good. Let's not forget that hardware matters too.
@@lordchaz2k No it has no sparkle after 13khz, almost no upper treble
@@DominikReviews Then you have a defected model. Never ever heard of this in reviews or in comments from the people. It's always been the bass. And from my experience good EQing goes a long way.
Bose Soundlink Flex and Beats Pill are the best ones. The Beats Pill is so much louder than the others you don't need it that loud.
Beats Pill have piercing highs but I agree with Bose Soundlink Flex
I think at low to medium volume they sound okay; but after 50% volume, I totally agreed. Annoyed they don't have an EQ.
Another great review. Now I want another speaker. I can't afford to watch you everyday!
If you really want to test a speaker, play "Housing, Luxury, Energy" by King Buzzo & Trevor Dunn. Once the bass kicks in (around 45 seconds in), inferior speakers will utterly spaz out 😂
I’ll give it a try! Currently testing the new Adam Audio D3V 🤗
Ha, ha, I was expecting a bass thunderstorm, but it was a nice piece of music. Sounds good on my stereo system at home. The bass is deep, but very restrained.
Which of these speakers would you buy if you were a tradesperson taking it on a construction site?
Probably the Charge 5 since it gets a bit louder and is pretty tough. If you want more volume, the soundcore boom 2 could be a solid option too
I have 2 of THE BOSE MAX! They are UNRIVALED in Fidelity, Bass, sound Quality for DECADES! I don't/ and won't trust any company, but BOSE. And YES. They do pair in stereo and party modes.
The Max is the best speaker I’ve heard. You must increase the treble by +4 points to sound right imo
Can you connect both of them in stereo? I only have one and i haven't bought another because i don't know if i can connect them together.
YES SIR! Just push the Action Button on each device and you won't be disappointed @@2tpw2
Yea the Bose are awesome I have the larger revolve 2 pair
Very nice and helpful review, thanks
Where’s the W - KING X20?
I have not tried them but will take a look!
Where is Sony XG500?🤔
I might replace my Clip 4 with Flip 6!
I did the same👌
I have the JBL boombox 3 and it is easily the best portable speaker you can buy.
Add tribit into the next comparison
The more I test the speakers head to head the more I realize how great JBL speakers are. Sonos coming in 2nd, then Marshall and then Bose which keeps being artificial sound 😢
Those speaker you feature here are not the best for the budget those are just mainstream speaker.
Lots of OG speaker are not on the list like
-Tronsmart H1
-Wisetiger p1s
-Tribit Micro 2
-Soundcore m100
-Soundcore m300
-Soundcore motion plus
-Mifa Wildrod
-Mifa wildbox
-Soundcore X500
-Soundcore X600
-Tribit Stormbox Blast
-Tribit Xsound mega
-Xdobo Bmtl Boom
-Wking X10
-Wking x20/d20
-Tronsmart s100
and many more..
those speaker i mention can wipeout your budget list in every budget category..
I have not tried all these, but I will take a look. Thank you for the helpful comment (seriously). Have you personally tried all of these options?
@@Jasper_Tech i tried majority i recommend except for
-wking x20 because i have the tribit blast. But that wking x20 is a tribit blast killer which can head to head to jbl boombox 3. Majority of us tribit blast and those wking x20 owners know its potential for the price you can get 2 of it for a price of single jbl boombox 3. That is the most suggested unit for alternative from our group in facebook which almost 60k members for JBL BB3 alternative.
-Motion X600 and X500
Didn't get one since its not my taste im more on bassy person but dude thats the flagship of Soundcore. You will blown away by Miles for its sound quality considering its price. Its cheaper than Jbl xtreme 3 but the sound quality of it will make the xtreme 3 a trash speaker. Specially if the device you used to play and music source is hi-res certified. These 2 are enough to kick all the speaker on your table in clarity and price.
-Motion plus its the OG speaker every nerdy speaker fans know its potential for the price no match for the Market. Even Alan Ross keep it and oluv.
-Tronsmart s100 you can get 2 of it for a price of a 1 charge 5.. I didn't get it since i have the Xsound mega. Xsound mega have deeper bass than Jbl Charge 5 and also cheaper almost 1/2 the price and has light effect.
-Tronsmart H1
Didn't get it since i priority 2 soundcore select 4 go instead of 1 h1.. But that h1 can head to heat to clip 5.. Which the h1 price 1/3 of the clip 5..
Next time considered getting tribit, soundcore and some tronsmart (only the latest model old tronsmart model are average in sound quality). specially get the Wking x20/d20 you will be amaze how good it offer for the price of Jbl xtreme 3..
@@Jasper_Tech I have those majority that I Recommend.. Except for the speaker I mention above because im an user not a collector.. But some of the speaker i mention heard it and compare it personally to my unit and i was blown away specialy with that wking x20 / d20, Soundcore Motion Plus, Soundcore motion x500 and and x600.. Those x speaker you will hear the sparkle in the music you are playing that you cant hear on the speaker in your tablet.. The soundcore, wking and tribit already build a solid reputation specially in the asia countries for durability, performance for its price.
Great video as always, really like where your channel is headed👍
P.S do checkout Tribit Micro 2,those will catch you by surprise with their tuning + volume it gives for it's compact size 🔥
Will check them out!
I guess you could technically include the vanatoo in this category since you can run it in mono mode and bluetooth. As long as you don’t mind the power cord.
😂
Where is harman kardon?
In my next video!
And..where is "Morel Biggie"example ?!? I believe easy win
I have many of these speakers and more. I love the Bose flex 2 and the Max, I love my boombox 3, I like my Pills because they are easy to handle. I really like my Wonderboom 4. The Flip 6 sound is too harsh imo. And my soundcore x600s I use as computer speakers.
Not having the X 600 on this list is a crime
I messed up :(
The good news is I have it sitting behind me and will be making a follow up video soon(ish)
download the eq for the beats pill 💊
Stop taking speakers to the beach and other public spaces. Some people go to the beach to relax and listen to the waves.
Ha. I agree with you. Some places are empty enough where I feel it’s fine; but overall, yes - always be mindful of others! 🫡
Tribit micro 2
JBL speakers are better for sound I love my JBL speaker for sound dj Paul from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪 I got my speaker for under 50euros JBL speaker makes bad sound sound better dj Paul 😀
you are definitely missing vifa helsinki speaker
Thank you! I will look into it for a future video 🙏
JBL Charge 5 all around.
It’s a great speaker 👌
👍🏼
I purchased a Boom2 & felt like I got f?!ked without being kissed. It’s a good value speaker but leaves me wanting more where sound quality is concerned.
The single racetrack driver & dual tweeters are highly overrated. Using the stock EQ it sounds dull & muddy with no midrange presence.
Dual divers & tweeters will offer better sound quality. Speaker manufacturers should do away with this design.
Hahahaha. I don’t mean to laugh at you, I am just laughing at your description.
This is fair; my perspective is while it’s not the best sounding, it is A LOT of speaker for the money, and many just want something a bit louder for the beach.
I’ll try to do a better job on my upcoming videos describing the speaker configuration
Leave the bass up off and fiddle around with the custom eq. That’s what I did and I’m more than a happy camper because of it.
JBL clip 4 and 5 look rugged but after falling off the edge of my bath (2ft drop) the back fell off my Clip 4. This thing was never out of my house and treated well. Overpriced and it sounded crap
Disappointing it broke like that. Did you reach out to JBL?
I'll just say, tribit
not mentioning UE in this video is criminal
I should have!
Vifa
no sound core x600? this page is a scam guys
Why a scam?! I just sadly can’t review every possible option. I do use comments to help me figure out what speakers I should include in my next video, so thank you for the tip
might be a better video if you actually demonstrated the sound quality.
Will try to do better next time
