Thanks for watching.
Thanks! Straight to the point, very informative.
All the videos about grx rd-rx400 are great. Thank you my man
Really useful video. Nice, clear and simple explanation of adjustment. Thank you.
Another brilliant video (You have helped me so much with my R7000 set up, now got a "gravel" bike with 2x10 GRX)- I seem to have an overtight from new clutch- gears shift ok without it on but on the lever is really stiff and then it struggles to drop off the lowest cog when switched on.... I'm going to try and tweak it so I can leave it on all the time and not have the lever involuntarily move to "off" on rough ground...
Excellent explanation thanks
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
So this adjusts the tension in the clutch lever, but is there a way to adjust the tension of the clutch itself? Mine feels way tight, and shifting isn’t nearly as smooth as when it’s off. Great vid anyways, thanks!
I'm going to try and back off the tension on that spring and see if it does make indexing the gears and shifting any better. Seems to be the only thing you can adjust in there...
Ok, so it does help, on the stand it seems to shift better with less noise. Indexing less than perfect. Going to ride it tomorrow to see if it's much of an improvement then see if slackening it off some more I can get things perfect.
If my clutch is on I feel vibrations while pedaling in the big ring, without the clutch it's much better... Does my clutch need adjustment or is this always the case?
Should feel the same when pedalling with the clutch on or off!
@@FreeToCycle But it doesn't feel the same. There is a big difference. Tried this because many other also have the same experience
Got the same problem, how did you fix it?
So in theory this could be loosened a bit if the clutch is too strong for my taste, right?
I'm leaving it off, because it makes the shifting harder and more unreliable for some reason. would you know why that might be? the rear derailleur just has a harder time tensioning the chain to go to the lower speeds.
I was told that you're normally supposed to always ride with the clutch on and only turn it off for wheel removal. Is that correct?
The point of the clutch mechanism is to tension the chain to keep it in place when riding over rough or uneven ground, eliminating or at least decreasing ‘chain slap’. There is no point in riding on the road with the clutch on, only engage it for off-road use.
@@FreeToCycle Why not always leave it on "just in case"? Is there some disadvantage or potential harm to the drivetrain by leaving it on?
@@falcoperegrinus82 good question. I’ve been trying to find an answer to it , but either no one replies or can give a satisfactory answer.
i find mine takes much longer to shift when wngaged, when the clutch is off shifting is instant.
Is this RD400 if I can use to my 10 speed shimano cassette 11to42 t ? Thanks.
Any updates on this?
I bought new deore m6000 and I didn't liked tencion of it and I decided to add more tencion and I broke the lever
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
