haha, that is what i am searching youtube for right now in 2018. trying to find video of someone use ch flight yoke in a star wars slight sim. seems like with dogfighting it is better to use a joystick though.
Its valid to point out that currently it’s easier to set modifiers for the controllers on most if jot all sims, so its possible to bypass the need of a rudder pedal by programing a button or multiple as a modifier to change an axis to rudder temporarily. Not really intuitive but easy enough to get used to. Just in case someone is currently looking to get one but cant or don’t want to get pedals.
I've had this yoke for 19 years and it still works just fine (other than a bit of spring noise). The only issue that I've had with it is that the clamps require a desk surface that is least least 1 inch thick, so if your desk isn't thick enough you will need a spacer clamped in there, too. I use a piece of particleboard.
Great and usefull video. Is it possible to affect Buttons 11 and 12 to rotate HSI for example ? Or other rotary fonction in a G1000, like HDG etc.. Thanks from France !
Any free game I can get off the internet to test these? it can be basic but i have the yoke plus some pro pedals want to confirm they work. Thank you in advance, happy new years.
Welcome to 2020 where my flight sim springs so make a noise. Nice and easy top slip the screws out to bottom and whack some Vaseline on the springs and internal bits. If your yoke is now 5-8 years old, a good bit of basic maintenance is well worth it.
Does this yoke have smooth action or a center detent? I see reviews of the eclipse and they mention that it has no detent(a good thing) but early ch yokes had a detent.
I use my yoke for Warthunder to fly simulated modes in the game, and I would consider this a good combat yoke. I've been using it over a year and it's still not damaged and working 100%. I can't afford the certain fight stick I want but until hen this yoke does work for dogfighting to a decent degree.
Does this control wheel self-center when you let go of it? The Saitek control wheel does and I don't care for that behavior. I'm trying to find a yoke that isn't spring loaded to always center itself when you let go of it. Thanks.
It's not just this model, yokes are designed for civil aviation and aren't very useful for dogfighting or space games. You will want a joystick with an integrated throttle at a minimum, preferably a HOTAS (joystick and throttle) for air or space combat or a HOSAS (dual joysticks) if you prefer that for space.
I remember playing Star Wars Tie Fighter with the old white CH flight yoke...

Oh yes the spring coil noise is annoying, feels like its about to pop
Good video, gives you lots of good info on how to use it and what to use it for.
Do you advice us to buy it in 2019??
well, it is still a cheap device, so i would suggest it!
Yes I just got it in 2020 it works great!
Hyper X is it good for any aircraft?
Craftzy xD well it’s good for any aircraft yes but is more realistic with aircraft that have yoke
Hyper hi, what is rotation limit on the yoke, does it turn left and right all the way to 90 degrees or does it stop at and odd 45 degrees

Kirk, can you talk about how you mounted the yoke? I inherited one, but it didn't come with clamps. Did yours come with the clamps?
I have the possibility to get one for 43 dollars but I don't know.. I saw the pics and is without damage , looks well.
Wow, thanks. ı am happy now i bought this. Subbed.
would this yoke be compatible to a mac that has windows and to aerofly2 fs
There is no reason why it shouldn't be mac compatible. Guess I should try it out as I think I can download X-Pane for my Mac.
It's a standard USB HID class device that doesn't require additional drivers, so it should work fine.

DCS I think... for anyone else who see this comment and had this question
x-plane 11, they have a free demo
looking for a recommendation for a yoke and set up compatible with my Microsoft Flight X Simulator...USB connection only.....thanks
After a while do the springs in your yoke make a noise?
Corrie Clark I have and it hasn't done any sounds so far

Lmao 😂 💀
He's at least giving you info on what it's like.
Hahaha
I'm super curious about the dead zone, my Logitech yoke has a huge dead zone

Do you know if it works on microsoft flight sim 2020 on xbox series X?
No the yoke was built too many years ago for an advanced console for today

Yes it springs back
Is this compatible with the sainted throttle quadrant?
Yes
Great review. Thanks
Does this work with X-Plane11??
Yes it does
What do you think a good flight yoke would be for dogfighting/space combat games, if this one isn't it?
Single joystick not a yoke. Saitek x52 is what I have

Build a little rig
Drill another hole
Get down tonight!
nice content dude but include gameplay like fr
yep
$200 an hour for a Cessna 172? I pay $100, maybe $110 max! $150 an hour after instructor fees. (2018)
Do you live in a basement or garage? And I surely hope that you have upgraded your desk! :/|
There is a flaw in the CH yoke clamping system-badly designed.
Yes true
We watch these things for a product instruction. Analysis of market forces not needed.
Saitek I mean
Are you xxxtentacion
????
Is there a tutorial on using the buttons while playing for better visual of their function? Tx
After a while do the springs in your yoke make a noise?
+Corrie Clark yes they do.
+Kirk Fickert is that bad if they make a noise
Just replace them with rubber bands.. no shit.
