Thank-you from the Scottish Highlands.. Very informative..... information was to the point.. Thank-you for answering some obvious points.. Dose the oven get hot on the outside. Just realised the controls are on the oven door handle and not set in.. You have hit the nail on most points.. However the self cleaning of the oven has not been addressed in any presentation that I have come across.. Before and after would be helpful to many as cleaning is an issue.. This company produced the June oven and has discontinued it!!This is a concern when updates come via the app or internet.. The size of the baking sheet would also help some as the quality is lacking from the manufacturer.. Thanks great job..
Other than the pan, I’d worry about the durability of the electronic keypad in the handle. Laptops are notorious for screens going blinky after the ribbon cable is worn from repeatedly opening/closing of the displays. It may have been better to have the control panel vertically on the side with the water tank, like microwaves do.
I am a single fellow living in a tiny home and am in the market for something like this..... you did a great review! I want to throw my stove out (make most of the room in kitchen) and get one.
You might still need your stove for the odd thing but this baby will do list of all your heavy lifting in the kitchen for sure. Over a year in and still going strong and still used several times a day.
Thanks for the great video. I just purchased mine for my renovated kitchen, after months of anguish over the decision and I am a little apprehensive about using it, but this video was an eye opener.
I too noticed the well raised daughters. they are curious yet disciplined. I know a lot about the Anova and competitors. This review does cover the real worl experience potential buyers need to know. I would wish Anova updates with infra-red elements, and of course the thicker pan - perhaps polished stainless steel instead of aluminum. I'd like a good comparison of Brava, Anova, June. All these start-ups are now owned by conglomerates - Electrolux, (the Viking Group), and another big Wig. Maybe the price comes down, the warranty may be safe, more features. great video!
I hope Breville/Joule comes out with one of these so I don't have to download two apps lol. I've been looking at this for a while and the bread has been the most enticing benefit, but the reheating leftovers is actually about equally appealing imo
I bake a lot of breads but usually only 1 or 2 loafs at a time. Steam is very important and I don't like putting steam in my main oven as it vents right under the electronics and keypad {already replaced it once}. This seems fantastic for my qty of bread baking but also, would be much more useful in our RV than the Microwave. Very well done review.
Make sure your RV has room. This thing is not like a little toaster oven but it can replace so many other appliances. So many people are using this to bake amazing breads!
@@EverydayReviews2022 35' Class A RV would have plenty of room. While a little heavy, moving it back and forth between the RV, home would double it's usefulness.
Oh yeah, that would totally work. I’m serious, I could eliminate our regular oven, air fryer, steamer, rice cooker, sous vide all with just this One tool. I’m sure you’re not going back and forth to the RV too often so moving it once in a while would be ideal. Can’t do that with a built in unit.
excellent review! They have some clever folks at Anova. I'm really impressed with this modern tech appliance. I hope they get the pan issue and other bugs addressed soon. As I'll keep my eye on this one as a replacement for my standard toaster oven.
Update: better baking pan, no light flickering and a button in the app to turn off the oven light. 👍 Con: connect to wifi is extremely challenging, follow the KB and all other guides but eventually had to use an old router to add/connect and trick it first and then it can connect to my new ASUS router again.😮
I’ve been looking for a sous vide unit for a while to compliment my green mountain and other meals but never wanted the look of a tote and heater that has no home when it’s done so this makes all the sense. Thanks for your reply.
Two questions: 1. Airfry: does it work well? does emit lots of smoke? 2. When it roasting baking, steaming, where does it emit heat, air, smoke? The instruction says that it has to have 4 inches space side and back.
Air fry works fine. Not quite as fast as a small one since the cavity is so much larger. Any smoke or steam essentially comes out the door when you open it. The unit is very sealed. You don’t want to have less than 4” clearance on top just for heat.
Haven't gotten my wife to try it yet, but I'm going to town trying spatchedcock chicken, sourdough bread, french toast, reheating food, etc etc. I would wait a bit tho, mine has some early issues, like that tray (and the racks won't slide when hot) and the drip tray that is impossible to empty without spilling, that I'm sure have fixes coming.
I used to clean a combination steam oven at work with the yellow can of oven cleaner (Easy Off). Spray the inside of it with Easy off then crank the steam way up. After it heats up the steam and Easy Off basically react together to melt food residue. Open oven then just wipe off the gunk... our oven would look brand new after I did that. Of course in the version at work it had a attached handheld water sprayer and I just sprayed the inside of the oven off and everything drained through a built in drain... but I'm sure you could just wipe off this version.
@@EverydayReviews2022 The oven is amazing - your review did not sell me on it - I bought it before I saw your review - but a great review.. subscribed - can't wait to see what else you do with it.
Interesting review. Very helpful info. Good to know it's accurate to within 6 degrees(Farenheit, presumably?). While it's better than an oven, I guess with an immersion circulator, I'm used to 1 degree accuracy. It seems limiting. With steaks, I'd do 130-140F, so 135 puts the fluctuation just outside that range (might be fine if I assume that's only worst case scenario and not for extended periods of time), chicken there's like +/-3 degrees tops I'd prefer variance between, and with salmon there's like +/-2 degrees max I'd find worthwhile. So in that regard, probably the only sous-vide style cooking I'd do is like 165F+ for tough cuts/dark meat poultry since precision isn't as big in that context, and maybe for veggies. I do appreciate the lack of bags though. I'm curious how fast it preheats compared to a regular oven, given the size I'd expect much quicker. I'd probably still like it for bread. Given the convection, steam, price, and size, I wouldn't mind ripping out and replacing my regular oven (and get a portable induction cooker for the stovetop). Especially if they could drop the price to like $350 for Black Friday 😂
The +/- 6 F is their max variance. In SV mode it’s usually within .2 - .6 if a degree so plenty of accuracy. I do my steaks 135 and they come out exactly the same as my circulator. Done salmon as well. Perfect 👌
Great review for me as I am considering to purchase I had a question on how to load the water tank as I have a space issue but your video really showed how it’s done

Great review. I was sold on everything except the need for distilled water. I live in Tokyo. They don't sell gallons of distilled water at the supermarket like they do in N. America.
It would be, glitches excepted, great for updating small kitchens. Here in south central (Europe), a zillion places have tiny kitchens, with maybe a microwave on the counter, and people aren't going to lose the drawer space to put in a full oven.
But that app thing -- I want an oven, not an app. I'm not going to turn on an oven from my commute or the couch, and WHY would one put full functionality on an app and not the oven??? "Sorry I can't do Thanksgiving, my iPhone is out of date."
I’ve had an Anova Precision Oven since March of this year and I absolutely love it! My only complaint, and it’s a silly one, is that when it is not being used there is NO clock function. All of my other appliances have the time showing but this one does not! How hard could it have been to program a clock into the display!!!
Valid point. Doesn’t matter to me though as I have my oven on a rolling cart now and it’s always getting unplugged and plugged in so a clock for me would just be annoying unless it had an internal memory so it wouldn’t lose the time.
Good review. I’d like to see a tear down to see how well insulated and constructed it is. I don’t quite get how they figure sous-vide since that type of cooking is emersion in water. This is definitely the way of the future as my oven is way too big and for that reason never gets used. You have very beautiful daughters. Very lucky man. I only say this because I don’t have to raise them. Wait till the boyfriends start coming around.
Depending on what you’re doing and the temp of the oven, that tank can last a lot longer than 24 hours. I did sous vide at 181° F for eight hours and barely lost half an inch of water in the tank
@@EverydayReviews2022 Great now that I got a new router so I can actually connected to Wi-Fi. there are a few bugs but it’s a lot of fun and a unique device for the home kitchen #hatethepan
I’ve been waiting for a solid review from someone for a while. I can’t believe you didn’t get into a breakdown of how it cooks meat. Is it better than a regular oven for roasting a chicken?? 18 min review where 12 of it was basically explaining the device and then you glossed over how well it cooks certain foods.
If I went over all different foods and recipes it would be a 69 min video lol. I let the images do some talking. It cooks meat amazing. SV mode works wonder for all meats and fish and keeps everything juicy.
Great review. Can you do one where you cook something start to finish? I’d like to see the unit sous vide a steak and then sear it all within that oven.
Awesome review. thanks so much! Yeah, that tray is just wrong. They need to include a better one with the system. It just takes away from the whole experience, using cheap material that warps with the heat.
I actually feel bad for them about the pan. Most ovens don’t even come with a pan so it’s a nice gesture but they might have been better off if they didn’t even include one.
@@EverydayReviews2022 Thanks Brian. For that price though, as you said, it would be nice if they were consistent with the quality of their materials. The ones from Delonghi, for example (obviously apples n oranges as they are far from a combi oven) but they do throw in some nice accessories for much less $.
Thank you for the reviews however, I really would like to know: 1. if the internal oven is Completely made of stainless steel material? 2. How Easy it is to clean After cooking? Thank you for your help.
Oh, crap. When these first came out, I figured just another expensive toy. But with your review, I think I can get rid of my microwave and air fryer oven, and just have this on the counter. Curious about searing after Sous Vide. Is there a reason I would need to enlist my stovetop with cast iron to sear, or can I sear with just the top burner of the oven and just flip the meat over to get both sides? By the way, you did a superlative review not only with just the review and the camera work, but there were none of those awkward pauses and stuttering when someone is in front of the camera, and they try doing it without a script.
This is a very great review. Used to work w chefs in fnb kitchen and they often use combi oven. Since then Im always looking for a cheaper combo oven option. This comes in handy as I'm planning to get one for my house! Get rid of those microwaving for reheating food. This steaming function is much healthier. And definitely saving alot space. A few qns here, do we need to preheat the oven for steaming? And does the app acts as a control as well? I just hope this multi functional oven would last for a few years.
Yes App does work as control as well. I actually prefer using the app as it’s quicker to set temps and steam. I just put my food in right away when steaming. It has replaced mani go our appliances since we’ve got it. The only thing is that you need to either wipe it down or let it dry out after using the steam or else it can gets some funky smells with all the moisture in the chamber sitting there.
Weird why consumer Combi Steam ovens are so expensive in US? In Europe Combi Steam ovens are in the upper mid level of cooking hardware. Mayor renowned brands like Bosch/Siemens, AEG/Electrolux and Atag/Asko sell these built in ovens for 1000-2000€ incl VAT (which would be 800-1700$ in US ex VAT). These include a sous vide function and temp sensor, along all possible oven functions and broiler. Way less than 4000-5000$. Of course more expensive models in 2000-3500 € range are also available, these often are 3-in-1 ovens that also include a microwave and pyrolysis self cleaning (all debris is burned to ash).
I have a new in the box Anova precision oven for sale I returned the first one for a bad fan bearing but have decided that the features of the oven don't match my needs. I have it listed on the Stillwater Oklahoma craigslist. I won't include a link here. If you search Anova both of my ads should show up.
Moist air exaggerates both heat and cold. Humidity is what gives cold coastal air bite and extra heat prostration in hot muggy air. Fire fighters tend to withhold water at a burning house if they feel a person or pet is still inside to avoid cooking them like lobster. The Anovo is ultra expensive and they start at $600 US/$750 CDN
Overcompensating with WiFi. U could just use BlueTooth for wireless connection. Unless you're going to cook remotely from outside the house instead of putting a timer on, u're just asking for someone walking or driving by to hack it. Is there any copyright issues with the air/oil filter? TurboChef's patent had kept a lot of combination oven to be very expensive. Waiting for the knockoffs and see how they can improve on this design.
Funny you mention out of house cooking. Sometimes when I’m not home and I have a dish ready to cook, I’ll turn the oven on with the proper settings and just phone my wife to put it in when it’s preheated. 😂
Great review wonder if it can make beef jerky and of course chicken and turkey jerky if so I'm sold it does a hell of a lot more than my convection microwave oven

@@ericpmoss
You got confused
You can operate the oven fully manually
The app isn't necessary
Great review.
@@EverydayReviews2022 It could always reset the time via wifi.
In fact, they could probably add a clock in firmware if they wanted.
Or just look at any of your other appliances, which all have clocks apparently
Good review. I’d like to see a tear down to see how well insulated and constructed it is. I don’t quite get how they figure sous-vide since that type of cooking is emersion in water. This is definitely the way of the future as my oven is way too big and for that reason never gets used.
You have very beautiful daughters. Very lucky man. I only say this because I don’t have to raise them. Wait till the boyfriends start coming around.
Great suggestion!
@@EverydayReviews2022 how abt steam whole fish😋
Hmmm...I wonder if I could pull the lousy microwave in our RV and replace it with this!? Would seem like a serious upgrade. Great review.
It pulls more than 15A though so make sure you can handle that.
Depending on what you’re doing and the temp of the oven, that tank can last a lot longer than 24 hours. I did sous vide at 181° F for eight hours and barely lost half an inch of water in the tank
Exactly. I’ve heard that. I believe 24 hours is with it not in SV mode. How are you liking yours?
@@EverydayReviews2022 Great now that I got a new router so I can actually connected to Wi-Fi. there are a few bugs but it’s a lot of fun and a unique device for the home kitchen #hatethepan
Excellent review. Thank you.
AWESOME!!!!
@@EverydayReviews2022 great video regardless. Would love to see a follow up with it doing some of your fav recipes.
Just did some amazing salmon tonight. Gonna post the video on IG as it’s only a minute long.
Great review. Can you do one where you cook something start to finish? I’d like to see the unit sous vide a steak and then sear it all within that oven.
Great video. If I had the money this would be a no brainer..
That sheet pan is a deal killer. Great review.
Why? Explain yourself.
With this size designed in mind, it really only is missing a rotisserie option.
but the chicken would evenly cooked all through out even without rotisserie right?
Thank you for the reviews however, I really would like to know:
1. if the internal oven is Completely made of stainless steel material?
2. How Easy it is to clean After cooking?
Thank you for your help.
Not for me, but I enjoyed learning about it.
Thanks for watching at least. Glad you got something out it. Cheers!
Thank you!
Great review!
Yes
Great review!! Wish you had a Brava Oven to review. There is no good comparison of the two ovens abilities.
Can you compare this oven with your anova precision sous vide stick on meats, etc?
Thanks for the video. One question. How is the baking for like making frozen pizza ? and do you like the air fryer modes?
@@larock0wns perfect for baking and frozen pizzas. Works just like a regular oven as well except not as big so doesn’t take as long to heat up.
I have a Miele double wall oven, a Breville Oven, a Joule sous vide stick, and a Brava. Would it be wrong for me to get this?
Nice review!
Thanks
I love your review. Could this oven also dehydrate fruits, vegetables, herbs, roots?
Yes, absolutely
Do you still like it and use the anova alot?
Yes it will can accurately hold very low temps so you can dehydrate.
@@EverydayReviews2022 Thank you I'm sold
May i know how big is the interior of this oven? Will ot fit 12 by 16 baking steel?
I would give up having a microwave if they made an over the range version of one of these.
It’s too big for over range, it’s quite large.
They don't but other companies like Miele make combi oven/microwave/sous vide. They're very expensive though. $3-5k.
@@davidc2072 Guess it's time I buy that winning Powerball ticket then.
