I got a massive nuno bettencourt feel from the demo. Nice playing and great sounding pickups!
Great tune and great playing - appreciate the insight into these pickups! 🙌
I lovvvvvvve pickup demos in a mix !!! Can totally hear all the nuances
Wow string separation clarity is still amazing with that amount of gain.
Wow dude...Good to see you again. I'm hearing some great tone out of that Marshall if I'm correct! I miss the 800 I had years ago. Big mistake for letting it go. Great playing and beautiful guitar Josh.
I have a set of 7 strings chrome covers for my next build. Woods will be the exact same as your tele. Can't wait to try them !!
Great Demo
That is a beautiful guitar!
Josh where have you been man?!!?! I've been sitting here for like 3-4 years wondering - where did this guy go, I hope he's doing well. And there you are. To this date I still cycle through the good old testing123 videos :).
Karol Kozak thanks bud! Glad to be back at it 🤘
Love the pick attack on the palm muted notes. Lately I’ve been mixing jcm 800 with a Friedman because on its own the 800 can sound a bit too cheesy. In a good way of course but still...
WONDERFU!🤘👍
As far as I know they are available as black open coil, zebra open coil, nickel covered, gold covered.
It sounded very good , but I miss a clean sound test 😢
Nice tone! How do you compare this on SD JB's in clarity ,sustain in clean tone and on drive?
Even more clarity in my opinion. Like a lot of Bare Knuckles, they’re really tight & sound great for clean/dirty tones.
Hey Josh. I have a Rebel Yell in bridge in a korean PRS Custom 24. I love the definition and the rock and roll feeling, but it has a tad too much tightness and punch. Was thinking to replacing it with a True Grit. What do you think improved in your sound when moving from the RY to the TG?
Harmonics popped out more with the True Grits. I think they’re slightly lower output than the RY maybe a little more clarity.
@@testing123reviews Thanks mate. I'm very curious to see if they are less tight, less "hard rock".
The guitar looks gorgeous ! Which brand is that ? Thanks
Thoras thanks 🙏 it’s a Warmoth that I designed on their online guitar builder.
nice. how does the bridge pickup compare to the rebel yell?
Bit darker to my ear, RY is a bit brighter. Like most BKP’s there’s plenty of clarity, harmonics really pop nicely with the True Grits. Plus the combo of that guitar & the Marshall sounded amazing!
Great playing! Did these feel more classic rock/hair metal than modern metal? Any idea how they compare to Holy Divers? Thanks!
Patrick Butler they’re really well suited for classic rock & 80’s metal, however I did dabble with some dropped tuned modern metal and they also sound great for that. Nolly did a playthrough for Neural DSP and he’s got them loaded in a PRS Modern Eagle.
I prefer your demos without any drums or backing music...still awesome playing
David suzuki thanks bud! We’ll do a mix of the old style videos and these ones for sure.
I’d like you to go back to just plugging straight into the amp and recording the direct sound in the room. I think you get a better sense of how the pickup truly sounds. As going through the two notes gives more of IR’s tonality instead of the pickup IMHO.
