I would say it's too wholesome. Like the Simpsons sitting down to watch a metal show. Strange to think that in the '80s, conservative Christians felt they were going to be the downfall of humanity, despite being the only T.V. family that was in church every Sunday and were somewhat conservative.

It’s amazing seeing Snorre up there playing. Especially given his history with Mayhem.. like doing the art for DMDS, writing for the album and then being sentenced to 8 years in prison for being an accomplice to the murder of Euronymous (he drove Varg and watched the whole thing).. wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong person.. and massive props to Mayhem for keeping him part of the “circle”..

Huge props to Norwegian national television for not only paying homage to the nations black metal heritage but also for encouraging the artists paying tribute to put their own artistic expression in to it. The Chainsaw Gutsfuck tribute is very good as well.

Gaahl added his own little design to the vocals. It’s great to see a tribute of a legendary band like Mayhem; people I suppose won’t like this version. I just like the originality that Gaahl displayed. Dedicated to Dead’s style.

This is an excellent version and tribute to the band, it doesn't have to be like the original, it's still got the atmosphere
gaahl should receive much more praise for his vocal duties, the man is a monster and has a very diverse vocal range. this sounded great actually!

I like it slowed down a bit, it sounds pretty brutal even slowed down a bit. Gahhl did a good job on vocals to he did it how he would if it were written by him. Plus the dude is almost 50 try being a metal vocalist that long.

I don't care what anyone says about Gaahl. The guy has charisma...the guy has class. He also has a musical "Midas Touch" and adds something special to any performance...be it his own music...or the music of others.

Gaahl actually put a great peformance. He is obviously feeling the vibe and he delivered some great atmosphere which corresponds to the lyrics. The sound of generic black metal vocals would be boring as hell in this case. Also, his shaking hands are not the sign of being nervous but the sign of being totally focused and being in the zone.
