Conceptually, I really like the visuals of this one. It looks so different to the typical generic nickelodeon platformers. I'll definitely trust Brandon that the gameplay stinks. But it's certainly interesting to see in action.
I own and have beated this thing without any cheats. I can give some advice for people who want to torture themselves with this game, to make it less painful: 1. If you're playing this on an emulator activate Frame Filtering (or what ever it's called, i don't remember) to make the jitter in the floor and backgrounds not noticeable and make the fake transparency effects work, makes the game look way better and how it was intended, without it it's just an eyesore. 2. Don't use the tank controls, only move with the strafe button held the whole time, you can move faster and jump further while strafing. Some jumps actually require to be done while strafing, like the one mentioned in the video. 3. Only use the powerful shot on big enemies, the ammo is really sparse in this game. 4. If you did really poorly in a level and you lost a lot of lives and health just input the previous password and play the level again, you already know what to do in the levels and where the secrets are so you should be able to beat it more easily. 5. Collect all the coins you can, find secret areas and use the shop in the hub world and bosses only to buy extra lives and ammo, don't bother with health, you already get your health replenished when you lose a life. This whole text dump was probably useless but hey, I was bored.
the game's visuals are not great, but I have to mention, it looks a lot better on real hardware, a lot of GBA games look messy as heck in emulators because they were designed with the GBA screen in mind, I have seen it on actual hardware and while still looking weird and ugly it's not nearly as much of a mindfuck for your eyes
Yeah flicker was a common graphical technique on the GBA. On an actual system it works properly giving the illusion of transparency or in Jimmy Negatron's case, anti-aliasing on the 'Mode-7-esque' layer. The actual flickering is basically unnoticeable on the actual system too. Emulators usually have an issue with it because of the mismatch in refresh rate. The GBA screen wasn't quite 60hz, but a weird refresh that was close to it instead.
@@VexAcer The refresh rate thing is only really an issue in crappy/older emulators like Visual Boy Advance, emulators like mGBA (the go-to GBA emulator) by default runs games at the same framerate as real hardware. This is why speedrunners only use mGBA or Bizhawk with the mGBA core.
I bought this game when i bought Return of the king on gba which is one of the best gba games around and i wont lie i lvoed it as a kid i was like wow it looks like the show.. wont lie miss the old days man
Can you do PC version please that Jimmy Neutron game please if you want to I'm not forcing you you are awesome and keep on the good work showcasing cartoon games I hope you have an awesome day
How come you never do the PC versions of the games? What if there's a PC exclusive? Sometimes the computer versions are completely different like with this game, Battle for Bikini Bottom, Wild Thornberry's Rambler, and more.
It's too much of a pain in the ass to get most old PC games to run on modern hardware, so rather than only be able to review a random selection of the PC games I've just put in a blanket "no PC games rule".
I've played hundreds of games and this is one of the worst I've played. I owned it as a kid and it was very boring, difficult to control, and the game overall just lacked polish. I try and play all my games to 100% but couldn't make it very far in this one.

Thank you for saving my life. Too bad I show no interest in playing this game.
Btw Nickelodeon party blast is made by Data Design… the Ninjabread man dudes. Good luck

The main reason why I'm hyped for next week's video.
Lmaooo had no idea, that's some foreshadowing right there xD
You and nitro rad need a crossover
I remember playing the PC version on my family's old computer years ago when I was a kid and was the first game I recall beating in one sitting.
9:51 Heh, this is my Teacher. She trying to teach me again (wink)
Really enjoy your videos!

@@ditheremotion Oh lol that explains a lot. I've still been using VBA all this time.
Judging by the view count and the comments, I'm actually surprised to see that there are actually a lot of people who remember or know this game.
I'm telling ya. You need to review Attack of the Twonkies. You'll really love that one.
I'm reviewing the Nick games in release order, so I'll get to it eventually.
That's great to hear at least.
I could never play something like this. I am getting dizzy with the gameplay
You need to make that jump by strafe jumping. The game doesn't tell you that you can strafe in this game lol
I used to play this game all the time on PC, and I still have my copy.
The game manual had the game's narrative in it from what I can remember, which is why it isn't in the game, cos they assumed you read that first
"She tries to teach me again. ;)"
~Main Menu Jimmy Neutron, 2002
Shrek appears at 0:29 . You’re welcome
Somebody to-
Wished you could've covered the pc version
Do you how hard you could make old PC games into new hardware?
You probably know this already, but Nickelodeon Party Blast is the worst Nickelodeon game, even worse than Totally Angelica
I bought this game when i bought Return of the king on gba which is one of the best gba games around and i wont lie i lvoed it as a kid i was like wow it looks like the show.. wont lie miss the old days man
Also i wont forget when my grandma bought me a brand new game which i still got boxed it Monster Force... AMAZING GAMING To.
Now I remember why I hated this game (in particular the GBA version) a lot.
But it's 3d it's cool but not executed well.
Can you do PC version please that Jimmy Neutron game please if you want to I'm not forcing you you are awesome and keep on the good work showcasing cartoon games I hope you have an awesome day
Wait a minute you have a twitch
Yep! I've started streaming some of my playthroughs of Nick games.
I played the pc version constantly

Oh hey, the next game was made by Pheonix Games, right?
No it's developed by Data Design Interactive.
@@themasterofgaming4149 Still developed nothing but garbage, right?
@@devonwilliams5738 yep except for Lego rock Raiders on pc that was good.
I thought this was a re-upload xD
You probably thought of the Nitro Rad video lol
@@tubguinace yeah. I even read the tittle expecting to see "Re-Upload" xD
I expect a Cartoon Review/Nitro Rad crossover in the future.

It's a shame your skipping pc games In this retrospective, I feel like plenty of them are unique and interesting enough to be worth their own videos.
You are cool boy
Jesus, was this game even finished? This looks and feels like a beta/ tech demo
You are cool boy.
If only I wasn't white, I could make an unfunny Negatron joke.
You should have watched Nitro Rad's video on these games.
I don't watch or read any reviews of games I'm going to be covering because I don't want to be influenced by what others think/have done.
