When u bake good ,u r special species? Are u kidding me? What about the artist, scientist and most people who successes in their lives.? What spices are they? ...your logic is funny.. admire is a good thing ,but too much admired is shamed.
I am only in highschool but I can relate to the feeling of just wanting to bake all day. The excitement I get when I have an occasion to bake is indescribable. I have been on and off with whether I want to be a baker as an adult but this video has truly inspired me. 😁 EDIT: I forgot about this comment but I came back (10 months later) and saw all of your replies and stories. I hope you all can find a way to have baking as an aspect in your life. Reading all your situations and love for baking just makes me so happy!
Being an entrepreneur and starting a business is not easy especially when people don’t believe in you or doubts you. But take this comment or video as a sign that you should do it! Reach for the stars.
Sometimes what you do for the couple of times becomes your passion, it's not always about waiting for sth special that you love it at first ,sometimes you have to do sth first and then you'll fall in love with it and you call it passion ❤
I click on this video because of the title. I was totally ready to explain how being a "professional" means nothing more than you make money for what you do and that just because someone pays you, doesn't mean you're good at it. That being said, this video, the cookies, the dedication in her face, that's what important. I don't care about how many people like what you do, I care about how much you like what you do. This is a proper use of dedication. Good job.
I recently just started a home based baking business. This really inspired me to never give up, at times it gets really hard especially since I’m only 22 and am doing everything by myself but this video really motivated me and I hope her business strives ❤️
This made me tear up! This is exactly how I feel. This is exactly what I’m trying to do right now. Something about it fills my soul. Thank you for this video!
This makes me want to cry so much! I recently graduated from college and I still can't really find a job as it's scarce but I love to bake so I started doing it for fun. I would just bake what I know how to and send it to church or for friends and they'll appreciate it so much, been doing this for like a year and some. And, it's that double feeling you get, first from the comfort and ease when you're doing it and the expression from people when they've recieved and it finds out it tastes so good! Baking completes me in a way people can't understand. Never done it as a course, never learned from any professional I'm just self taught and im learning every day. Problem is its expensive to get ingredients and since I dont have a job I can't really maintain baking all the time and that kills me. So I started doing it for money and tbh its not paying that much but I know it's a passion now because even when I'm tired and people come with orders, I still do it and it still feels like a breeze. Hopefully maybe one day I can really make it, praying for that. Even if I don't in that field of business I'll never stop baking I promise.
This is so inspiring. Always wanted to be a professional baker but never had the means to do it. People here don't really value your work, they want to pay less and don't care too much about quality. Maybe one day I can be like her. We can always dream, right?
this video made me almost sob (no joke). I’m a 17 yr old home baker who’s going into her senior year and i’ve always loved baking and i want to pursuit as a career in my future and attend culinary school but recently for months now i’ve baked less and doubted myself from the hurtful words that are spoken to me and i begin to overthink and overwhelm myself trying to find something else i can become but there is literally nothing else that i’m more passionate about than baking and this woman’s story really gave me hope and changed my view of how i see my self and my baking. literally thank you tasty and youtube recommendations (lol)
I LOVE baking. I've sold my goods on several occasions and I keep hearing how people want me to do a little business. But I'm still battling against fear and uncertainty.
This video kept following me all day until I watched it and now the drive to have my own dessert cafe has increased. Thank you for telling us your story. I’m tired of working at these dead end jobs that doesn’t make me happy.
Tasty thank you for helping this passionate woman achieve her dreams and inspire others to do the same. I would love to go to cali and visit her bakery and feel like grandma just made it for me. You go girl!!
This made me cry... I’m in the last year of Highschool and I had plans majoring in biomedical engineering...but this made me cry... I love baking, I love making food...I love sharing it with my friends and seeing their satisfied expressions and their excited tones...But I am not one from a rich family.. we need money, and so I HAVE to stick to the stable...but yeah, You definitely touched me Ma’am
I love this video, very inspiring. I want to own a bakery of my own someday as well so seeing another woman of color go for their dreams and making it happen is amazing
Really thankful to hear Devonna's story. I was looking for how people decide to work in the bakery industry. Her story made me realised strong passion and love for baking is so important.
My heart feels all warm from watching this video and listening to her story. Im proud of her and hope her business continues to thrive and I know she'll have fun doing it
This is so beautiful man. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t feel this passionate about their jobs... it’s nice to see someone who is genuinely happy with theirs.
This is exactly where I am. I have supplies in every corner of my house. I love to bake! I get up before the sun with baking on my mind. I have a few customers but I want more so I can bake more. I need a building space to advertise. I am not giving up. I believe in succeeding. I have invested so much in this and I'm praying it will pay off. I'm staying in Faith!
I really appreciate this. Since I was 11 I loved baking and wanted to be a baker. In September I'm going to college for culinary arts and I am so nervous. I respect you so much. My mom has her own business too, I know how much hard work, dedication and passion is needed to create something that makes u and others happy 💜
as a professional baker myself, I love this! So amazing to see others pursue their dreams. Weigh all your recipes and your life will change. I've been developing recipes while I waited for my stalled legal career to take flight. She should start small with a CFO, like I did, pay everything in cash And promote her brand. But the expense of a lease, equipment, supplies, marketing, employees, insurance, oh and the ever increasing cost of liability insurance is so high that most people choose not to go that route. I've seen 4 businesses close, family businesses that did just that in the last year. One of the only things I agree with Dave Ramsey about. Start small, don't borrow.
As a baking and pastry arts student, I pray for this motivation and drive when I graduate. Days are long and task mountain is high, but at the end of the day, we're doing something we love and we get to watch people's faces when they eat our food. You go, girl!
She's really passionate! You'll know when it's really intense and genuine because when you listen to it, you inherit the energy. I hope everything goes in her favor. FOR THE DREAMERS! ✨
I'm jealous! I'm also so very happy you have such a passion for what you love. Who gives this a thumbs down 😡 Your story is beautiful. Maybe the haters need a cookie! 🍪
From a family of dentists, and graduating as one, I wanted to bake, so I randomly walked into a cinnamon roll bakery and joined as a learner cum helper. Almost a week got over and it's really hard but it's nice. Sometimes workers complain. But i like it. I like the work. Being busy mixing dough, baking rolls, cupcakes... I don't know if this is what I wanna do. But I'm doing this to know that.
Thank you! You managed to express feelings that I sometimes have trouble expressing I LOVE baking and I also love all my friends. The only problem is that I suck at expressing that to them, to tell them how much I love and care about each and every one of them... so I bake I take all that love and put it into what I make and share it with everyone, for the simple reason that I want to... I'm planning on going back to school to become a baker one day and this video helped me strengthen that resolve Because at the end of the day, all I want to do is bake and make people happy
Me too, I want to bake everyday.. I'm always looking for an excuse to bake and share with my coworkers. My hubby doesn't eat much sweets so if I don't find people to share with, I end up eating tons of baking sweets. Oh my when I bake bread and my house smells like a bakery....ooohhh that feels awesome!!
Omg butter bakery, i love you! I wish you all of the fulfilment, prosperity and so much joy is flowing to this world through your cookies! I can feel it in another part of the world ❤️❤️❤️🍀🐬

Oh god when she was describing what butter bakery is like to her it made my eyes light up. I’ve wanted to be a pâtissière for my entire life, I can’t wait to share with people the same warmth that she does!
I'm a science major (currently in senior year only 3 months away from graduating) and I fully love my major and can't wait to find a job related to it. But I also have a passion for baking! I truly love being in the kitchen and making things from scratch! Maybe I'll do it as my own side job in the future!
Thank you, this has been my passion my whole life, however I have never had the money to open up my own business. I love to bake and cook, doesn't matter what the product is, I just love cooking and the gratification of the final product. I am old and running out of time but I still want to do this and the dream has never left my heart. I am happy for you and that your dream is coming true for you. I wish you all the best!
This is so inspiring. I started two weeks ago, baking in my kitchen with a five pound bag of sugar, and a five pound bag of flour like you lol. I've had about 10 orders a week and have been advertising on Facebook like crazy! I love doing this!!
I love this as a baker my self trying to get in the groove. Inspiration to the next generation of bakers that's what I want to be. You have inspired me to keep on going!!!
I wonder if I'll start a bakery one day ❤ That would be amazing. The other day I had a bad day and came home from work and baked a cheesecake at 11 pm and it's so liberating 😂
Thank you! I have just started the process of a home bakery and just hearing your experience has given me hope, courage and extra confirmation that I have begun the right thing. 🙋🏻♀️🥰
I can relate to some many things. I am thinking very seriously about opening my own home bakery soon too. I love baking too. I went to law school, was a Realtor, etc but those things don't make me happy like baking does. You are so right. I feel like I shouldn't take this passion with me to my grave also. I've been baking for 30 yrs, but never taken it seriously as a business! And I've owned other businesses too! I've needed this vote of confidence. My husband thinks I'm crazy!
I'm still in college but I know I like making desserts and pastries, and I'm thinking about starting a small business. This comes just in the right time.
This is so inspiring!! Baking is definitely my huge hobby in my life. It's a lot of fun, but can also be very hard and exhausting sometimes. I really admire and envy this girl, cause she really love what she does and have pasion. I still dont have the courage to be a professional baker due to the fear of the difficulty and pressure this career might cause me. It is not easy to find a job that you really really love and willing to do with your whole life nowadays.
I sooo needed this today! I am a baker too...she and I have such a similar story and experience...I almost felt like giving up today and I saw this. I going to keep going!
I'm so happy you got your building! It's rare to see good work ethics anymore. You are doing what I want to do...getting going is so hard! I wish you great success!
I love Baking and make cookies for friends and family around the holidays. I'm so glad you're successful and found your new space to grow your business. Congrats!
I really needed this. My dream is to become a baker but I've always told my self no because it seemed to far out but this made me super happy that it works for people
She belongs to a special "species" of humanity that actually loves what she does for work
nobody inthisworld that’s rare and precious
When u bake good ,u r special species? Are u kidding me? What about the artist, scientist and most people who successes in their lives.? What spices are they? ...your logic is funny.. admire is a good thing ,but too much admired is shamed.
No, she is a person working in what she loves. She isn't doing some random thing and loving it.
I call it ambitious and visionary species.
Wow imagine disliking your own job... sad

im LITERALLY in the same exact boat as you
Im also in highschool and want to become a baker/pastry chef. Hopefully this dream will come true. I love Baking and want to express myself that way
I can 100% relate, I already knew I wanted to be a baker but this just inspires me even more
I am the exact same
I pray her business thrives! Her story is just heartwarming 💖
I love hearing the passion in her voice talking about her job.

i feel kinda sad because i don't think i love anything that much to pursue it so much...good for her tho, hopefully we all find that one thing in life
you will I promise. Sometimes it just takes the experience and time for you to find it and it to find you.
Same and I’m getting old still nothing
Sometimes what you do for the couple of times becomes your passion, it's not always about waiting for sth special that you love it at first ,sometimes you have to do sth first and then you'll fall in love with it and you call it passion ❤
She just motivated me to move forward in baking more. My dream is to have a bakery one day also. Thanks for this ❤️
Three years later, how’s it going?
I wish I was closer to get some delicious cookies!
Hii Rebecca would u have a minute to check out my violin covers ? Have a wonderful day 😘😘😘
They look amazing! The combination of brown and yellow cookies... I'm going to look for the recipe.

Those double flavored cookies look delicious!! Does anyone know what the second flavor is?
It looks either like Dutch Cocoa chocolate or could be a modified brookie (brownie/cookie), to me. 💙
They are chocolate chip cookie and Brownie hybrids called "Crownies".😊
Probably brownie

I sooo needed this today! I am a baker too...she and I have such a similar story and experience...I almost felt like giving up today and I saw this. I going to keep going!
I'm so happy you got your building! It's rare to see good work ethics anymore. You are doing what I want to do...getting going is so hard! I wish you great success!
May God continue to Bless you and your business/ Butter Bakery🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🍪🍪
