He does care in that he knows that people on the streets would disapprove of your attire because they'd think you're a professional street worker. That's why he doesn't want you to wear that. It's like going outside in your underwear and nothing more. He's a good guy.

If I were Min, I would've said "Show the world how sexy you are honey." That's what I would say to my Iraqi-American girlfriend in general although she would never wear that as she doesn't like exposing her body too much through dressing.
By the way, when Min and you were struggling with the zipper, it reminded me of how Arsene Wenger used to struggle with his zippers when he was managing the English soccer club called Arsenal.
