I consider the introduction of a Bitcoin ETF to be a revolutionary step in the financial markets. I personally am not sure about letting private entities manage all social services. The memory of 19th century workhouses and orphanages around here is still very much alive. My grandmother was born in 1909 and in her old age (1980s) she had a stroke and became confused. She was terrified she’d be sent to the workhouse. These places were absolutely horrific, conditions unbearable and the chances of getting out minimal. There was no accountability whatsoever and people were at the mercy of private individuals. Total self sovereignty is fine if you’re wealthy but the reason we got rid of such private institutions is because people wanted a safety net that wasn’t predicated on social/financial status. Don’t bring things back until you understand why we got rid of them in the first place!

I think Bitcoin gets its value from what it could be.. I’m not sure it’ll be the world’s currency, but everyone wants to get a hold of it right now, some for monetary value reasons, such as trading for a profit/return.. and others want it because of the speculation of what it could possibly be in the future.. “better to have some now, opposed to not having any” in case it does become something bigger.. in all honesty, I think Ethereum and Solana hold great value, because of the mechanism of building on the blockchain. Soooo many dapps built on Ethereum.. it is waaaay under valued. Yea you can use Bitcoin to make payments, because people give it value, so then now they want some in exchange for a service or good.. this could be said for Polygon, or Avax, or any other crypto.. if the majority of people say it’s valuable, then they start wanting it.. so is Bitcoin only valuable because people say it is? Or is it valuable because it has stood the test of time, and was the first crypto and blockchain technology created, that had limited supply?
The World's currency will be the one that no one can make more of for free, by pressing a few buttons, whilst you have to work for it. I'll give you a clue. There will only one of those. And it's not any fiat currency and it's not any of your favourite sh*tcoins, or any 'altcoin'.

The guy makes sense. I think there will be more maxi's as the years pass. Maybe another type of moderate maxi , a modmaxi, who doesnt get obnoxious about it but just smart.
i enjoyed this interview and became excited at the possibilities, especially the thrust of making bitcoin more unassailable. I am a maxi (nanny?) in terms of bitcoin ownership - most of my net worth is in bitcoin in my own wallets. I do have bitcoin spot ETFs in my IRA (GBTC -> Canadian spot ETFs -> US spot ETFs) because I am worried iTrust might get Warren'd. I do not align with the hostility against innovation and other chains and coins of the maxi people though. Some of that innovation (zero knowledge proofs etc.) elsewhere than bitcoin really thrills me. I think I would be off the grid if I could afford it - the power of government and banks to confiscate and devalue savings horrifies me. Yes, I am a boomer.

The Crypto market is pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine.
