  • The last trip of 2023 was a winter camping trip in the big homemade hot tent at Silent Lake with my friend Jenny. I was excited to spend a few days in the quiet, after a busy year and peopling over the Christmas holidays. We only got a bit of snow, and it wasn't very cold, but we had a great time. It was cool seeing Silent Lake as others see it. I have only ever seen Silent Lake buried in snow, so it was like going to a new place. Jenny is a great camping companion and we made some tasty food, went exploring, had lots of laughs and I got to see and film her hammock setup, which was really interesting. Spend the last few days of 2023 winter camping in the homemade hot tent with Jenny and I, and let the quiet of Silent Lake soothe your soul.

    Such a cool setup. That new sleeping bag looked so cozy. It did look like a whole new camp ground without the snow and I so remember that snowman from before.❤️

    Love that pillow in the tote bag to hold the pillow I definitely need to do something like that.
    You definitely had your tent laid out great and neat. I have never slept in a hammock before , I've been told it's very comfortable but I'm a tosser and turner so not sure. When you can get down to t shirt in the hot tent it's good lol. Yeah occasionally I forget I have a fan on my stove and CLANG eventually I'm going to ruin it I'm sure or lose a knuckle lol. Being able to scan the map for the hike to the phone is a great option to have , very scenic hiking trail.

      Love all the random thoughts jammed together in this comment. Glad you like the set up and glad I gave you a few new ideas. I’m a tosser as well. Plus I get up in the night and I dunno. Just seems so much harder. Jenny says the hammock is good for her back so whatever works.
      Thanks so much for the great comment. Cheers!

    I seem to be going to the same winter sites as you, lol. I was at Mew lake twice and then Pinery and now silent lake next weekend. I’ll be at site 131. Nice video!

    Nice set up. I laughed about the snowblower comment. I bought a new to me snowblower this year as well and we never got snow until last week where winter showed up all at once with two major snow storms followed by extreme cold all in one week.

      @CamperChristina  9 місяців тому

      @@CamperChristina oh I did! I even paid it forward on the second snowstorm and snowblowed my neighbor's driveways for them cause I was working the first storm (not fun trucking down the highway in whiteout conditions) and I was surprised when I got home to see my driveway completely cleared out for me. I thought after my 14 hour day I'd have to snowblow the driveway, but was shocked to see it clear. Found out my new neighbor across the road did it for me so after the second storm I went out and cleared all the neighbors driveways for them since they're all so nice to me, walking my dog for me when I'm working, watching my house and occasionally clearing the driveway. Love having awesome neighbors. 👍

    Is it safe to cook inside a winter tent?
