      Why would you have the wire connected to the fuse box and not the battery???

    Thanks for the detailed video. I'm going to be installing a radio and subs and amp in my nephew's 06 Impala this really helps cuz I'm really good at putting in car audio self taught just not all cars are the same when it comes to taking it apart and putting back together. This is the best detailed video I've seen on UA-cam on Chevy Impalas so with that said keep up the good work and God bless you and your family 🙏 out

    I'm glad I looked this up. this will help when i do the install when spring hits. since my 442 will be getting a fuel cell in the trunk. I don't want a sound system that close to fuel. So I will repurposing it for my impala. which i drive more often anyways.

    I'll be doing this same install for a friend's son very soon - thanks for posting! 👍 I would've liked to see you tap the ground in the back but I won't fault you for that; just providing a good location is gravy. 😉 Also pointing out the voltage sensor near the battery is gold - I know alternator output is variable these days but I likely wouldn't have realized that was the mechanism for detection.
    And that old wire run with the rag wrapped around the broken fuse holder 🤦‍♂ As Ron Burgundy would say: "Stay classy!"

      @@Bobcatspiritdude Best of luck with your Malibu install!
      Mine went well and this video was definitely my go-to for the endeavor. The unfortunate part is that the kid treated his Impala like a racecar and blew the engine/head gasket/whatever so now it's sitting in their yard collecting rust 😕 Even worse, I'll bet he'll treat the next car the same way - he's just one of those kids that thinks that people are actually impressed when he "burns rubber" and besides that can also be talked into almost anything by his hoodlum "friends". Bridge? Jump? Sure!!!
      What a recipe for disaster... hopefully he won't be given the next vehicle and instead will have to buy it himself but that's certainly not up to me.

    Just bought a 2006 impala, It had all the aftermarket stereo wiring in it, Took almost an hour to rip all that garbage out, Factory stereo is state of the art and better than most aftermarket units, I restored the O.E. stereo system, works great.

    Quick question I see all these impala videos for this gen everyone always using 4 guage, 0 guage too big to fit under the trim panel?

      You can always run it under carpet instead of panels if the gauge size is too large to allow the kick panels to fully seat.

  • @brianallen0826
    @brianallen0826 4 місяці тому

    When running the power cable to the battery, you have it running along factory wiring under the hood, I thought that could cause noise in the system, am I wrong?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  4 місяці тому

      In vehicles from decades ago, yes, but with modern electronics, noise / distortion in the speakers today is caused from poor grounds and low quality RCA cables.

    How you connect the remote wire to

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 роки тому

      Are vehicle had an aftermarket radio in which the radio provides the remote turn on output (blue/white wire). If you don’t have an aftermarket radio, you will need to either go to the fuse box for switches power or use a line out converse that provides and generates a remote turn on.

  • @RJ_Uploads

    Question... Why didn't you run the power wire under the vehicle and up through the trunk, it seems easier to me...

    • @louofm1
      @louofm1 6 місяців тому +2

      You don't want to expose that wire to elements or possible damage. It could easily short. Best to keep it inside

    • @ProvoBeastAudio

      The stereo or amplifier? Amplifier is at 5:18. Stereo is grounded through the wiring harness adapter.

    • @col98
      @col98 2 роки тому +1

      Not necessarily, you’d have to install an LOC and connect that from your amplifier to the rear speaker wires. Stock headunit voltage wouldn’t keep up with aftermarket amp and sub and it would sound terrible

    After your install, did the audio chimes and steering wheel audio controls still function?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  2 роки тому

      With the right smart harness required for the vehicle, yes. This specific Impala arrived missing the smart harness and the factory harness severely damaged so we just "got it working" as the customer did not want to use the correct chime module.
