There's actually a recommended mod that goes well with this called death tweaks that allows you to lose exp when you die and regain it by collecting it where you died. That truly makes it Ark souls.

the reason the nests dissapeared from the dodos is because its actually a part of them, which is also why they didnt attack, they cant move because the nest is a part of their model, kill dodo = destroy nest
he is so used to just being able to get tames so easily. You have to be more careful, every single tame counts now
indeed, this was actually frustrating to watch and seen coming from a mile. :p
First do the stuff you planned, then prepare to go do other stuff, all this over spontanious things get you killed man.

Yeah, the lighthouse is the best place to live on Rag plains. The cave is nice but things can definitely get in. The lighthouse has potatoes right outside too iirc. I know it's way late, but just in case anyone else wants to live in this area, I don't think much, if anything, can get through the lighthouse door.

Also syntac: Let's casually stroll through allo and carno nests
For defending your base against creatures that can break through stone: Build slightly into the cave entrance, this stops large creatures from attacking your wall structures. Smaller creatures which can destroy stone can be dealt with by building the defense out of windows, which you can shoot through and are extremely likely to be able to kill the creature before it breaks through the stone walls. This keeps your base secure against anything but an absolute swarm of small creatures which can damage stone without the hassle of building a large metal structure without an anky.
Personally I'd probably just go through the hassle of doing metal, but it's nice to have options and having windows to fire through is always handy because it stops things from camping the door outside of your base and trapping you inside.
