Playing off-meta units is always based. I also love how people’s overall experience with IT was basically just either “this is the most fun I had in this game ever” or “this game mode destroyed my sanity” and nothing in between.
Honestly as a believer in horizontal investment and variety in gameplay with 43 lvl 90 fully built characters with individual artifact sets each I found it pretty enjoyable, but I get how people who prefer to invest vertically might be annoyed by the concept

When Cryo was available I needed to level my benched Ayaka, but realized it's stupid to build a character only for 1 season of Imaginarium Theater if I don't plan to actually use that character. Ugh
You went into a Coppelius boss fight without a healer or a real shield, that’s wild By the way the bonus challenge for that is meaningless since it’s the final fight
I think it's pretty good, but It really, REALLY, needs some ironing. Specifically: - Give every character at the beginning so there is no feeling of not getting the right character -Make Boons cost more, but in return make them actually useful (they all suck right now) -replace the companion recruiting with vigor replenishment (make it cost more maybe) - make the arenas interesting: this is an open world game where the endgame is always a circle with enemies. I don't care if even the bare minimum is done. That being said I never understood the complaint of it being easy. Like it is, but it was honestly expected. The hardest enemies go up to 95 (12-1 in abyss) and there is a randomness factor as well. I just think they should focus on making the player feel more powerful as they go on.
Hey there. Nice vid 😎 I can relate so damn much with your experience. I also don't lack on characters and raised and build them well. Normaly i don't have to share artifacts or smth like that. But floor 6 was such a mess! Mostly bcs the stupid beasts always move around and you can not really group them well wich often results in just one beast down at time ...aaaaa Good thing my Raiden was still available and so I run floor 6 & 8 with her as main dps. I do that on purpose bcs the bosses are cryo with a cryo floor and will drain your energy in close combat. And if you aren't able to burst or skill... Just a tip. Give it a try, she works great. Raiden also the best char on the dmg champ list. 210k burst on Icewind Suite was pretty neet :D It has some flawes, this mage stage but with some modifications I think it is fun enough. The most time I enjoyed playing. To be honest, I'm really looking forward to the next theater. My main units are cryo and hydro and the next one will be hydro,cryo,anemo. Finally a chance to see them all performing. Because if we are real, for what else should I build my chars if I'm not able to play with them. Sorry for the long text and also for the gram mistaktes. Yeahhhhhhh I feel that fs, and it's like this gamemode had SOOOO much potential it j felt lacking
My favorite moment of the theater was when I had to use Venti as a Xiangling battery (no bennett at the time) and it fucking worked.

im a skill issue day 1 player and this gamemode made me rage beyond comprehension. but thats why i play this game i like the trial and error

Sadly it’s too easy for many endgame players and too hard for many casual players. So it doesn’t please anyone. Also too much rng sometimes.
