Hello everyone. Thanks so much for watching my Instant Pot BBQ Baked Beans episode. The are easy to make and absolutely delicious. Leave a comment below on what you like to make in the Instant Pot. Are you making these beans too? I would love to know. You know how much I love to read and answer comments. - Joey
Okay, I found your brand, but I am going to try Primal Kitchen's brand because I like that theirs is unsweetened and organic. If that doesn't work, I will be back.
These beans look so delicious. This is definitely on my list of next to do. Thank you for sharing your recipe. And all your hard work. Amazing all that you are doing for animals. It is definitely keeping us on track for plant based meals.
BTW I have been married to my husband Tim for over 26 years. I have always been the cook and I know that has contributed to my weight gain. I am always privy to all the food in the kitchen, and I have always done most of the buying, planning and cooking. It is as if we are domestic chefs. So, I guess that will always come with the territory. We have it good don't we?@@PlantBasedDads
OMG..I just made these and I am speechless! They are SOOOO good. I used my crockpot, bunged everything in at once, cooked on high for 4 hours till they thickened. They give Bush's beans a run for their money in fact I think they are better.. I am happy I got the recipe before you can and sell them. LOL Thank you. Greetings from North bay Canada. :)
I made this tonight for me and my family and for someone who can’t stand beans this was a game changer they were really tasty thank you so much for sharing this recipe
My husband loves my baked beans and I don't add any animal products or oil. I make mine in the instant pot too and add much of the same ingredients with the addition of mustard. Gotta love a plate of beans and a salad or steamed veggies!

This is my new favorite bean recipe! I decided to use homemade ketchup and BBQ sauce and also did a mix of chickpeas, white beans, and pinto beans. I simmered it on the stovetop about 30 minutes, covered, as I don’t have an instapot and it turned out great. Thanks!
This is one of the best baked beans barbecue dishes I have ever eaten. We served it on jasmine rice. And I had a side of kale with it. Outstanding! I can’t wait to try your instant pot pinto beans. God bless you all!
Watched the video, had the ingredients so I made a 2/3 recipe just to try it. As soon as it was cool enough to eat, I ate half of it! Really tasty! Now I need to go in and make another batch.
Joey, How did I miss this one?....My favorite way to enjoy BBQ beans is as a baked potato topper. I bet it would be good on pasta, too, just like chili. I'm buying the ingredients for your recipe next grocery run. B from CA
They are indeed! I just made mine and want to eat the whole thing! I shall always make a double batch now so that I have some to freeze. I made mine in the crockpot! Hello from North Bay Canada.
I made this today on the stove top. I substituted veggie broth for the water and did half white beans and half black beans. This is absolutely delicious. This is going to be a staple meal for me for sure!
this checks all the boxes, I'll definitely make these. I made your stuffed pepper soup last night, OMG, I'll make it again, thanks for all your hard work
I made a small batch of your recipe and, oh my goodness, they are so, so delicious! Thanks for the recipe - these beans are officially on my regular menu!
I'm pretty sure these are the best"baked" beans, I've ever made! I've never left a comment on a you tube video ever, so that tells you...these are delicious!
I love baked beans, bbq beans, all beans. Thanks for this recipe. I'll surely give it a try soon. I love cooking with you, my friend. While you made beans, I braised greens (oil-free of course.) I think I'll watch this again while I clean up. Thanks again.
Hello I enjoyed this video. I was hoping we could watch Tim try the beans and watch his reaction to them…could be something you can do in the future. Thank you for sharing your recipes.
The BBQ sauce is Rib Rack. The ketchup is whatever organic ketchup we can find with the least amount of ingredients, usually something from Sprouts or Whole Foods. Thanks so much for watching.
Hi Luciane, we now use a mix of pinto red and white beans so really you can use any of those beans in this recipe. If you use dry pinto beans, you will have to change the cook time to 35 mins. There is also the issue that dry pinto beans need 6 cups of water to cook in the pressure cooker. So maybe cook the dry pinto beans and 6 cups of water in the IP by themselves for 35 mins and then drain the beans, throw them back in the IP and follow the recipe for the BBQ beans.
Is this something that would freeze well? I would like to start to meal prep so I can have things once a week...I'm one of "those" that has to have constant variety and hates to cook 🤦♀️
I used to eat baked beans because of all the sweet, sugary-ness. If I made this, I’d have to use a BBQ sauce (sweetened with pineapple juice) and then date paste in stead of molasses. It might change the flavor a bit, but too much sweetness will trigger me to eat more or choose foods that don’t serve my health.
I don't have tomato ketchup or barbecue sauce in my kitchen I find ketchup too sweet and have never had barbecue sauce. I do buy what I think in the USA are called vegetarian baked beans which are the norm in Britain where I grew up I know that I have them as comfort eating: baked potatoes with beans as a student was a filling meal. That never happens. I don't have any more gas now than I had before. Once our body adjusts to the amount of fiber you take in, its not an issue. When gas does happen, it very rarely smells. When you eat a WFPB diet, you don't get the horrible smelling gas. You cant smell anything. Seriously. The same thing when you use the restroom and go Number 2. Nothing smells bad on a WFPB diet. It's a great benefit for sure.
@@PlantBasedDads Thank you for your response. You are fortunate! I hope my body will adjust. I must be eating way more fiber than I did before I saw the light and went WFPB! Thanks.

Yes I buy canned .... I don't like onions so never buy them. I can do onion powder though, so how much would you suggest I use of that?

Up the veggie intake by using riced cauliflower. They’d also be really good over greens.

Hi Joey, so you added barbeque sauce as one of the ingredients - probably was not homemade. What was the brand that you used?
I have the same question, would be nice to know the brands of sauces and ketchup Joey used!
We use Rib Rack. I show it in some of the videos.
We use Rib Rack original.
How to get to the blog. Uzing dry beans

Would this work in a 3 quart IP?
I would think so. It doesnt make a lot.
BBQ by definition is messy!
Those beans look delicious.
Do you have a recipe for a BBQ sauce you make?
Hi Debbie. I am using the Rib Rack bottled BBQ Sauce.
Where can the written recipe be found please?
Recipes are added to the blog as the videos premier. This one is right here:

One thing I'd do is mix all the seasonings in a bowl so you don't need to stir the beans, and risk smashing them.

I find ketchup too sweet

I do buy what I think in the USA
are called vegetarian baked beans
which are the norm in Britain
where I grew up
I know that I have them
as comfort eating:
baked potatoes with beans
as a student was a filling meal.
Fortunately they are expensive

In the US, they sell unsweetened organic ketchup and it is less sweet.
