In regards to the limits, sailing seems to have the potential to add different restrictions along with the level limit. Quest requirements, other skill requirements could come into play as well. So if you have 99 sailing and a new island comes out, maybe you still can't access it because you need 90 slayer to kill the creature guarding the island. Maybe you need 90 prayer to inspire the sun summoner to light up the darkness, who knows. This is stuff for the refinement stage.
Unbias take: I think Sailing is the safest option to not fuck shit up with balance issues or "devaluing" other things, copying other specific game content etc.
My opinion: I feel like it fits the best. There's so much damn open water to be used in the world. more sea shantays to be obtained, etc.
They should poll these three and then take the most popular and put it against another 3 pitches, revote and if it is voted again push it forward. I feel like 3 options isn't enough and people are going to vote feeling restricted to 3 options.
Agreed forsure If they find it's still as popular against more skill ideas maybe choices 4 and 5? Then we really get a good selection, but also we're simple people we get too many options and we get confused easily
This is 500 IQ. I agree, as much as these three are OK, OK isn't good enough and I think they can do better. We shouldn't restrict ourselves and settle just because these are our current options.
Other UA-camrs need to push your idea because this is the most old school RuneScape thing and the best overall solution

Sailing as a minigame sounds pretty litty to me, but as for skills, Shamanism sounds the most solid imho (in mjy honest opinion)
New Skill idea: Spelunking, there's unlimited potential underground

All three of these pitches could be minigames and not full skills. Shamanism is gonna be end up being grindy and bear bones because the community will not agree on balancing it. Taming and sailing would be the easiest to implement without needing to focus much on gear balancing. Personally, I like all three, but my vote would be sailing if I could only pick one.

Sailing can be added without being a skill. They should just add building boats to the construction skill

the idea of uncapped skill would be cool but the 99 is nostalgic. i dont think going over 99 would be the idea. more of the old idea of elo when pking giving you an idea of where you stand would be dope though. maxing out and reaching certain "elo" or whatever you call it giving you new unlocks from islands or materials for ships or even just cosmetics to show off acomplishments like the old comp capes. would be the best idea for the community if you wanted it to be passed

sailing is my number 1 shamanism is a close second. taming is going to over crowd the map and devalue pets. no thanks.

Witchcraft does sound so much better
But the skill sounds like it's going to be somewhat nature based as well. Witchcraft in general is likened a lot towards "Wizardry" and we already have a mage skill so it would be redundant in a way.

yea taking a 2nd look at the skills shamanism seems the most original and useful without having too much graphics and followers clutter the game but the only downside might be if it has better buffs than potions it might make raids and bosses way too easy when you are maxed combat, minus maybe like max invocation raids which are still hard probably.
They should make weapons only able to wield with 99 att and str .
sailing is the one, the other skills have reaches, and are nothing new in this game whilst also having no historical ties to the game lol they are basically random

Around the 19:30 mark when he talks about whether or not he’s going to have fun, I’m pushing for both shamanism and taming to be more like the farming skill, because I fuckin love farming.
However I do realize that is a pretty polarizing skill lol

honestly after reading the blog posts im leaning more towards shaman but i do think the name is a bit janky. i thinking taming sounds like a chore and too many pets whereas sailing could be its own standalone thing and not a skill

Really is going to be hard to choose XD I've gone through all 3 skills as a choice already.
Hell I might even say no if I can't come to a conclusion on one I personally want. I got no doubt in my mind I will eventually get 99 as well. I just don't want anything to game breaking is all.

A lot of the community don't read anymore. The attention span of some of the narrow minded thinkers is nil. That's why they watch vids of their favorite creator and following their words whole heartedly. Kind of sad tbh.

Anyone connecting hunter and tamer are the same foreheads that played hunters in wow horribly giving hunter players a bad rep shamanism can be really good all three can be good if developed properly but taming just shouldn't be implemented unless there's a balanced way to have new companions and not devalue boss pets but also still make the boss pets worth getting so they could allow you to somehow combine your companion with the essence of said pet giving it a various boost against the boss or type of creature it comes from like the kril pet essence would make you immune to the special that hits through prayer the cerb pet could give you a damage boost to all hellhounds skotos could increase the drop rate of totem pieces or disable his pillars it's about being creative shamanism can add to herblore not be another take on it because it should unlock certain spells or effects on combat spells like what a shaman class is in other games like with 85 shamanism and 90 magic you unlock a lightning spell (shock damage incoming?) Then when maxed you can make it chain between close enough enemies or cause stat drain like shock damage we could even do elemental imbues on our weapons again a shamanistic trait possibilities are endless I personally think shamanism can positively affect all combat skills and some gathering skills making some tanked items valuable again and worthwhile to gather especially seeing we have forestry coming too
i want sailing, but i don't want to level it. good content idea, bad skill idea.
shaminism grinding comes across as being potentially boring content to grind but with bonuses to make other parts of game better / easier. Not sure how i feel about it. Maybe just make the boring / shit skills less shit and have a skill with its primary purpose not to make other skills better.
Taming kinda just shaminism in final output except you have a good boy to follow you around. Except this one feels more natural to me.
Not a fan of these skill ideas but also open to seeing some of them being refined and convince me its great, but my gut tells me we will end up just being a no vote and a year before we actually get a new skill instead of 6 months as we will need new skill suggestions probably.

There was a 2 second click in my brain that changed my mind from "haha this guy liked raising kittens" to "oh shit taming would help with the rest of the game and give a lil buddy to train"

I could but its mostly just a direct upload from my live streams, it's more about having an initial reaction, rather than recording and setting an agenda with my videos, for the most part, I feel like what I say in these longer videos is completely relevant from start to finish

i was there for summoning, and played rs3 until i switched over. Taming does sound like summoning int he aspect that its pets that do shit for you , they will massaively impact the entire game in all ways. Its not a good idea and it sounds terrible. You cant word this in a way that doesn sound like summoning other than it wont be trained the same way
edit: to specify what im saying, this skill would impact the game in such an enourous way it is not a good idea as it will be unbalanced for sure on release and because it impacts everything, this skill should not be developed unless its rolled out slowly in stages like 99% of games that do something like this. its too much at once.

I wholeheartedly disagree when it comes to shamanism. If I want to blow 500m speed running a new skill, which shouldn't be added to begin with IMO, I should be able to. People malding about whales have the strongest copium. No more skills, but if they want to shit on the game a second time, at least no more collection skills.
