I despise lift kits, but this looks so good and natural!
Thank you, yeah people can overdo modding their vehicles, I went with a more "Factory" appearance! Thanks for watching!
literally what I was just looking into lol the cheap supreme suspensions 3" lift with KYB monomax shocks off rock auto. Nice to see it in action and pretty much seals the deal for me 👍 thanks!
do you have any videos of it? I will have to check out the channel! I no longer have the truck as I had to put a lot of money and effort into my new business, so the Dakota had to go! I do miss it though! happy my video helped!
Looks really good man! Awesome job! 🍻
Thanks, it took me long enough!
Sweet ride. I love my '03 Dakota sport 4x4 clubcab 4.7 .
I wish they made a Dakota in a base 2.2 EFI 4x4!!! but yeah I had two Dakotas, this one and a 2008 with a 3.7, which I also enjoyed!
Looking beast 💪
Thanks Josh!!! really enjoying it!
Look Awesome!. I bought mine new in 2000 and only has 77k on a 4.7 with dual exhaust and cold air intake and runs like a beast. I'm finally needing new tires, yes still running factory originals!. I would like to life the truck, but it handles really well factory.
These trucks where more for "street" than "trail", unfortunately there is next to no aftermarket parts that transform this into a good trail rig, it can get expensive!
Beautiful truck bro I have an 2004 4doors Cab and and I would like to lift like yours looks awesome
Thank you for the compliment look up supreme suspension, its a value brand, not many choices
I'm a FORD guy , but this truck, this particular GEN its pretty good the ride quality is good and the overall truck is still a solid work/ off road option .
It's a great platform for sure, love all Dakotas in all years, but this one was their best one!
I have a 93 Dakota 4x4 and am wanting to put a lift on it for more overland use it has the 318 in it and is stock height I'm looking forward to getting her looking like a 4x4
Yeah, the 90's and early 2000s where more "sport" trucks rather than off roaders! now adays, everyone is into Overlanding the the industry has changed, so getting the Dakota platform to play in that sport will require a lot of $$
I had a 2001 Dakota I wanted to lift for a long time but just never did, and got lucky I didn't spend the money because shortly thereafter it blew a head gasket and I wasn't going to spend that money. I got a 2011 after that, but there are absolutely no suspension lift kits for a 4x4 of those later years. I have made to with the leveling kit for now and have bought a body lift kit but am currently waiting on a friend who knows mechanics a hell of a lot more than me to get it on. I just don't trust myself working with something like that that requires some cutting and adjusting, especially if there was something that didn't work quite right and needed some troubleshooting. But that look is exactly what I want :)
sorry for the late reply! Dakota where more of a street performance truck, rather than a off-roader, its unfortunate, as I am into 4x4ing, but love this model Dakota, you can add lifts now, but the suspension is not suited for wheeling as the newer or ones that focused on 4x4ing!
I've been all over your site. I was hoping to see the work being done. Last video was just spraying all the nuts. Then this review with it all done. Did you film the actual work? I have a 2004 Dakota 4x4 and was curious about what it took.
Hi Jim, unfortunately life threw me a curve ball, I sold the truck to my buddies' son who is now in possession of it, I jumped in with both feet to start my business full time again, so I had to make sacrifices, unfortunately I did not film the progress of the lift or the Pros and Cons later on, how is your project coming along? For my next project I am looking at either a 6.0L Ford Diesel F250/350 or a 1985 Shelby Charger, Mitsubishi Mirage or another Bricklin! stay tuned to see what I have in store! Thanks for watching and your support!
Thanks for making this video! I have a 2002 Dakota RT 5.9 that im thinking of doing this to. Its too low for me to tow boats like I really need it to, but I got a really good deal on the truck. Part of me wants to look for a new truck, the other part tells me to fix up this truck that so it would work better for me. I also think I will get demolished by the Mopar community for lifting this thing...
If it's in good shape, I would keep it! Newer Trucks are very expensive these days and keeping your old ones will be a better decision of the two!
Can I borrow your Dodge Dakota To do some rock climbing on the weekend sometimes Just messing with you hope you have a sense of humor.
I have a 2008 and have been very disappointed to find so little off road aftermarket parts and pieces available for it. Do you have any idea if this will work for that year model and allow running 33's? Great video. Thanks for putting it out there!
Sorry for the late reply, a 2008 is a completely different truck, unfortunately, the 2006-11 Dakota will have the least aftermarket support, as they did not make much in terms of modifications for that platform, it would be a very expensive mission to build it into a proper off roader!
Just saw your post after doing my post just now. So it depends on if you have a 4x4 or a 2wd. There are suspension kits out there for the 2wd but nothing designated for the 4x4. There are leveling kits and body kits
I got myself a 03 sport with a 4.7L. It my play truck, what is your tire size on the kota. Looks real nice good job
NIce, Congrats on the new rig! I put on 265/70R17 mud tires, one of the episodes covers the make and model of the tires
amazing video, where did you get your lift kit from? i have an 97 dodge Dakota Extended cab 2x4 but can find the 3 inch kit for it
Thanks for the support! I got the lift kit from Amazon under Supreme Suspensions, I can't remeber what video, but if you watch them, I have a video outlining all the part #'s and what I used to put it together! I no longer have this truck, as I am on a different path!
I just picked up a Dakota for 1800. Mine is a V6 truck though. But it's 4x4, lowish miles, easier to load my dirt bike than my lifted Silverado, and I'm not gonna be too sad if it gets scratched in the desert. Ps. That's a good looking RM. I think my old RM 250 handled and cornered better than any bike I've ever owned.
Thank you for the compliment! the V6 is a great motor as well, nothing wrong with it!, what kind of bike do you ride now? I have a another channel for my dirt bike.
I have the same lift kit and upper control arm pretty much rest on top bump stop with the droop. How did you get clearance on yours? Im having a hard time finding aftermarket arms and thinking about cutting it off and re-welding the bump stop. Any ideas will help thanks
sorry for the late reply, my buddy helped me install it and I am not quite sure on how we did it, we did change out the shocks, so not sure if that played a factor in that area if yours is a 2wd, that maybe why, the 4x4s are torsion fronts
cab you send the link on parts for the lift. kindly include the shock model too
ua-cam.com/video/P0Aspv5qUaY/v-deo.html Everything is in this video! hope that helps! you can see it in the description!
I got an 03 4x4 with the 4.7. Got the 3” block and key lift plus a 3” body lift sitting if 33”s. Honestly it was better before I put the body lift on, things now are real stiff, vibrates a lot and just has a really poor ride quality. I absolutely love the way it looks and sits, but man the money I’ve put into it, yeesh. Currently working on my financial situation so that I can spend 10s of thousands of dollars on it, I will have the baddest dakota on the road 😂
Nice, you got it on video? will have to check it out I miss mine! I just picked up a 2005 Ford F350, which got stolen, going to film my ventures with that! Good luck with yours, let me know how you make out!
@@corradettimotorsports360 Haven't made any videos on it other than when the store I bought parts from messed up lol. Wanting to make a video going over everything I love/hate and plans for it but working 60+ hours a week makes that hard :/
Bought some shocks from rock auto says i cant instal unlessni have 3inch suspention lift? Were your hock almost to long to go on? In the front? Thanks
sorry for the late response, what kind did you buy? PN#wise? I bought the lift kit off amazon which needed the extended shocks, all my part #s are listed in these videos if you need a cross reference. The shocks I installed in the front where difficult to compress, but fit fine once installed.
This might sound weird but I have a 2018 Ram 1500 I'm going to run a 2 inch wheel spacer that convert the 5 lug to 6x4.5 lug then I'm going to do Dakota RT wheels powder coated black with 285 70 17 or 315 70 17 I had 20s with 305 55 20 but I'm sick of 20s I think it's going look good 👍 it will be different for sure
Bro I'm a Mopar guy I have an 1996 3.9 LV6 4wd ext cab auto , 3.9L V6 2004 Quad Cab(4 full door) 4x4 manual transmission, and I have the 2018 Ram 1500 4x4 Tradesman 5.7 V8.
But I what I want to do is Change my wheel 17 stock 5X5.5 to 18 TRX lug patterns 6X5.5 also want to lift to 5" with Zone lift kits
@@samuelherman4859 it's cheaper for a spacer that go from 5x5.5 to 6x5.5 then the way I'm going 5x5.5 to 6x4.5 lug for two spacers it's $260 for 2 but 6x5.5 is $260 for all 4
@@CarsTrucksWhatever you should go same as me bro...'96 Dakota has 31x10.50r15
My 2004 Dakota has 275/75/r17 something like that My 2018 Ram 1500 4x4 has stock 285/70r17 So I gonna lift my truck 4-5 inches and I will go for 35x12.50r18
@@samuelherman4859 my truck is leveled with bilstein 5100 I was running a 305 55 20 I'm going to try a 315 70 17 on the dakota rt rims or a 285 70 17 depending on what is on sale in the spring right now it has the 265 70 17 on for the winter because I sold my factory 20s already I have a line on a set of 5 Dakota rt wheels for $300 I'm going to buy this weekend I also have my lift it 1998 5.9l limited Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 inch lift 31s that's my toy
@@CarsTrucksWhatever cool bro keep it up Mopar
I didn't find video installing your body lift. do you have a video of this?
I did not do a body lift, only suspension, just replaced the torsion keys and added lift blocks for this build!
@@corradettimotorsports360 I understood. your truck looks beautiful! congratulations and thanks for the reply.
Where are the videos on the installation of the lift supports?
I didn't film all of the install, unfortunately!
you didn't need to change bumpers? no adaptation needed after it lifted?
I just did a suspension lift, no body, so the body and bumpers did not get affected
@@corradettimotorsports360 I understood. your truck looks beautiful! congratulations and thanks for the reply.
what lift kit?
It's a supreme suspension 3" lift, with KYB Shocks on all 4 corners!
is this the 4.7 dakota?
No, this one has the Magnum 5.2 (318)
Do you want to sell those 15x8 factory wheels?
I already sold them!
Here's the question Is your Dakota for wheel drive If it is you can't compete..
it is a 4x4, but I did end up selling it
@@corradettimotorsports360 Man you don't sell - dakotas - dakotas You keep them trucks forever Could have passed it on to your son.
