Thanks Guru Peter... I'm always recommending these videos on Facebook bonsai groups as people constantly post a pic of a new tree they've bought or been given and ask what they should do with it. Even though I've been doing this for a few years I learn something every time I watch one, and they've been great during winter nights while I work on my trees, and Covid lockdowns.
these plastic pots are great. They´re cheap, they give you an idea of how it´ll look like in a ceramic pot and they´re deep enough so they don´t slow down the growth too much. I know, as a beginner you usually want instant results but patience is one of the most important thimngs in Bonsai. You can get a nice ceramic pot when the tree is more refined. I grow my young mame and shohin bonsai in joghurt cups, cream cheese packages and noodle soup cups. They get nice pots when they´re more refined.
Maybe you should start the Peter Chan’s challenge where people take one of the three from garden centre stock and send you pictures/videos of their process.

You've been doing a great job shooting these, Peter! It's nice to have a stable tripod shot for this longer form demo and smaller form factor. Understandably for your bigger trees, it's impractical to bring the material to the camera for closer inspection... but I feel it works rather well in this case. Thank you for the demo!

you should have a small round table and a chair, so you can face us. you get really quiet when you turn to work on the tree and you often block what you are doing. I love the videos, this is just a suggestion to make it easier to see and hear :)

Thank you for putting the effort into making these videos by yourself. It's not easy but you do it well. I was very tempted to buy your triple pack about a month ago but I'm still planning to visit in September and I thought I'd like to buy them in person. We'll see what happens. Regarding my other comment I am feeling pretty reassured watching your video though. I did cut roots as well as part of the trunk to fit the pot. I probably should have just used a deep nursery pot again.
