Underrated? This song was on the radio nonstop in the '90s. Like it was literally everywhere. So tired of people who don't get what "underrated" means. 😆
They were so freakin good live. One of the best I have ever seen. When I saw them around 96 or 97, they opened with Low. Pretty ballsy considering it was really was/is their most well known song. It is like they wanted to get it out of the way to put it out of everyone's mind.
God I love this song so much brings back good time memories of a younger me that was happy and jamming in an old 80s Chrysler to a timeless rock anthem.
Unbelievable! Live on Conan and perfect. Sounds like the original recording. That's the measure of a band, playing live, balls out and nailing it! No bands do that anymore because they're few and far between.. I give cracker 5 stars on this video and a bowl of soup!
Absolutely the greatest song to come out of the Nineties!! Hand's Down!! How many song's have been played in Sporting Events . This one and other's. Only great song's get to wear that Prize!!! How many People agree with Me?
Million poppies will definitely make you sleep, and just that rose knows my name.. ive been low, like a junkie cosmonaut.. you feel like youre a million miles below everyone elses feet. A million miles, a million miles!😢 Well put.. and the rythm mirrors the repetative waves of withdraw smooth then hard
The JC120 for clean or he has them both on together to give definition. I used to do that with a Mesa Boogie Mark IIb and a Lab Series L5.. What a combination. Run in stereo with a Boss CE1. The big honking metal pedal. God knows what that would be worth today. The chorus circuit in the CE-1 is the same they used in the JC120.
Saw them live in Boston outdoors at Gov't Center in a free show headlining 3 or 4 other bands. Can't remember the year, but Brandy Wood was bassist at the time. Hearing this live made me appreciate it all the more.
In 1993 I won concert tickets from the local college radio station. Three bands in Hershey Pa: Cracker, Gin Blossoms, with the Spin Doctors headlining. The Spin Doctors sucked (we left three songs in), Gin Blossoms killed it, but Cracker blew me away! Instantly a life long fan, and David's songwriter was a huge inspiration to my own. 30 years later, they're still going strong. Cracker rocks!
I missed a lot of music during the 90s and 00s when bringing up my family and working, but came across this song when I recently watched 'RECTIFIED' on Sundance and was blown away by it . Great song and show!
I know his sister, Sandra Lowery, and niece Jenna Lowery. A VERY TALENTED FAMILY. Sandra has cerebral palsy, but worked at our neighborhood YMCA for years while raising a wonderful daughter - who is now a Redlands City Council member. Sandra also has the gift of reading tarot cards - often with pinpoint accuracy!
What a fabulous band! Great song! When you're good, know how to compose a wonderful song, and know what you're doing, you don't need any of the nonsense and frills most bands rely on.
+Tribute2JohnnyB I just looked up this video because I only today discovered that the lead singer of this band was lead singer of Camper van Beethoven, and now you're blowing my mind that the drummer of one of my favorite bands was part of this band at one point. Holy shit.
Kid grows up in Redlands, CA- makes good. As an aside, I think Conan has been the most engaging of the talk show host with his musical guests. His show has gotten better since he left NBC and went to TBS.
Awesome song from an awesome band Still going, along with CVB ... Lowery now teaching, Lovering back with Pixies and Johnny Hickman still playing guitar Kerosene Hat one great album, and still sounds it
Is it wrong that all I want to do is go back in time to these days? Music and movies were good, Conan's show was FUCKING HILARIOUS, and things were so much more simple and relaxed.
The lead singer, David Lowery, teaches at UGA now and he's my music business professor.
When I was at UGA, we were going to see Camper Van Beethoven at 40 watt
What? That's crazy! I've lived in Athens for a while now and I had no idea he was at UGA.
Amazing.
That is absolutely great
Who that uncle Jessi on lead?
One of the most underrated songs of the 90's
Omg yes. This song and Get Off This are so awesome.
Underrated? This song was on the radio nonstop in the '90s. Like it was literally everywhere. So tired of people who don't get what "underrated" means. 😆

This song is amazing! it's like Tom Petty mixed with Grunge!
Hi I Recommend checking out an Indie Rock Song called 'Looking Into the mirror' By Robert Nix
@@redskies4530 That was painful
Good summation
You know a band is talented when they sound just as good or even better live than they do in a studio. These guys are amazing!
Yes
They are killer live! Agreed.
I think the guitar solo sounds better live. It’s a simple, tasteful solo.
Throwing down!!!
That’s not talent. That’s mindfulness.
They really nailed those harmonies in the chorus.
It kind of makes the song
Gotta love songs about heroin!
I took bands like this for granted back in the day. Shame on me.
Shame on us all, pal. Well, we've been punished. Karma.
How would we have known? Know the shit is Beyoncé !!! We are screwed to put it nice!
fucking moving words, guys. but utterly true, isn't it? We're fucked in every way with music right now. Takes hours to find anything good
Music that blows you away after 30 years as much as it did when you first heard it...now thats saying something.
I am lucky to have found them still. Good music will always be appreciated.
I'm 72. This song never gets old. In my top 10 of all time. And that's a long time ✌️
Darkly beautiful poetic.

One of the most underrated BANDS of the 90's
the 90's were so great ....this is just 1 of so many great songs of that decade
totally agree.
A million poppies used to make me sleep. But not anymore. Anyway my dude on the bass is killing it with those background vocals!!!
Poppies, but no wallflower. I could hear him
Better than Bob Rupe IMO.
Amen to that
Now that you mention it, backing vocals are quite good here
One of the best songs of the 90's, easily! Top 3!
I want the 90's Back!
A Perfect song! Complete with David Lovering of the Pixies on drums!!!
I didn't notice that until you pointed it out. Cool.
It blows my mind how similar this sounds to the studio version. I'm very impressed.
Holy crap! This sounds just like the album!
that rift is so heavy hits a dark place in my mind that im all to familiar with
It’s a spiraling sound.
Incredible performance.
The 90's were amazing for music
I remember when this song came out, I loved it and still do over 20yrs later.
Add another decade to that 20 years, and it's still a wicked tune...
This song kicks ass.. its like the summer of love meets the 90s
At 2:21 "Like some junkie cosmonaut" the guys are dancing so perfectly together and in time its satisfying as fuck to watch
Yeah their adrenaline was cascading down their backs.great moment
They were so freakin good live. One of the best I have ever seen. When I saw them around 96 or 97, they opened with Low. Pretty ballsy considering it was really was/is their most well known song. It is like they wanted to get it out of the way to put it out of everyone's mind.
Damn, this song better every time I hear it. Killer band. They should let these guys play forever.
I miss you 90's. More than you can imagine.
Me too
Me three
God I love this song so much brings back good time

Great! Had to revisit this killer jam after not hearing it for years.. It holds up well in today's world..
Killer song the riffs are eternal I can always rock out to this song. Back when music was music!
Million poppies will definitely make you sleep, and just that rose knows my name.. ive been low, like a junkie cosmonaut.. you feel like youre a million miles below everyone elses feet. A million miles, a million miles!😢
Well put.. and the rythm mirrors the repetative waves of withdraw smooth then hard
I definitely took bands like this for granted, unfortunately. Saw them in Philly last night 1-17-20 awesome show !
this song gets played on the radio literally every day and i still rock out when i hear it come on when im at work
This song ROCKS ! It does not get the air play it deserves from the classic rock stations! It is real classic ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This guys are playing at my friends house in July I swear to god. I can't fucking wait to go nuts when they play this
I want in
1) props to the audio engineer. That's a great mix for how loud the stage must have been.
2) that fender amp/JC120 combination us interesting.
Is it though
The JC120 for clean or he has them both on together to give definition. I used to do that with a Mesa Boogie Mark IIb and a Lab Series L5.. What a combination. Run in stereo with a Boss CE1. The big honking metal pedal. God knows what that would be worth today. The chorus circuit in the CE-1 is the same they used in the JC120.
The timing of when the vocals come in is everything with this song
they sound fucking great live
awesome. this song will NEVER get old.
Lucky! This is one of my favorite songs from that generation. Just has such a good sound.
Saw them live in Boston outdoors at Gov't Center in a free show headlining 3 or 4 other bands. Can't remember the year, but Brandy Wood was bassist at the time. Hearing this live made me appreciate it all the more.
The drummer is my spirit animal. Shmooth
Like always kicked asses. Cracker is great!!!
Saw them with Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors in 1993. Such a fun show. Great band.
Wow that’s heck of a line up!
In 1993 I won concert tickets from the local college radio station. Three bands in Hershey Pa: Cracker, Gin Blossoms, with the Spin Doctors headlining. We didn't know how good we had it!
Its all down hill from here and not in a good way
Ouch.
there is still a lot of amazing music just maybe not as popular which isn’t that bad imo
Love this song and great performance!
I wore the Kerosene Hat album out back in the day!!!!!!
I missed a lot of music during the 90s and 00s when bringing up my family and working, but came across this song when I recently watched 'RECTIFIED' on Sundance and was blown away by it . Great song and show!

This is literally amazing.
Great lyrics! Great Musicians. Nice guys, too.
Absolutely loved these guys back in the day. I just realized I still love them like some junkie cosmonaut
I miss these songs! Need to put them back on the radio.
Maravillosa canción. Que bien sigue sonando 23 años después.
This is a flawless performance
I love the cloud graphic in the back. Why don't they still do shit like that? It looks awesome.
anyghost Probably the same reason they don't do good music anymore either. Or good television shows.
Idk you never rly see people do that, other than Pink Floyd ofc but I love it and there should definitely be a visual affect added to music
Live music*
Absolutely friggin' amazing tune!!! God I love awesome music!
90s rock is a long lost art
OMG, last night on my way home from school, this song came on the radio. Its really cool.
That was a pretty dam cool guitar solo.
Saw these guys in Lawrence, Ks in '94 with Counting Crows. Awesome show!!
happy to see you guys have rebuilt since the nuking

Without a doubt one of the most underrated bands of the 90's.
Songs like this kept me alive through the 90s. 23 years sober today.
What a fabulous band! Great song! When you're good, know how to compose a wonderful song, and know what you're doing, you don't need any of the nonsense and frills most bands rely on.
I can't really disagree with you, but I'm seriously here for the music- that is ONE way we can unite all people....music knows no boundaries!
the tom petty influence in strong with this one
what a great performance!!! some songs never get you low...
Richmond, VA rocks.
These guys are the poster children for 90's music. Like a comet, bright flare and then quick burnout.
Not really...
I love this song and this band..
That's Dave Lovering from The Pixies playing drums. Huh. *the more you know star*
+Tribute2JohnnyB holy shit haha. I never knew that. This is my first time watching them live, and I was thinking he looked like him. Turns out it was
+Tribute2JohnnyB I just looked up this video because I only today discovered that the lead singer of this band was lead singer of Camper van Beethoven, and now you're blowing my mind that the drummer of one of my favorite bands was part of this band at one point. Holy shit.
I just want to know what's going on with his rack mounted tom.
sntemp 😂 I was just wondering that myself 🤔😆
Jayson Davis Frank Black is the man
Kid grows up in Redlands, CA- makes good. As an aside, I think Conan has been the most engaging of the talk show host with his musical guests. His show has gotten better since he left NBC and went to TBS.
Damn, Cracker kicked ass on this performance!

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Is it wrong that all I want to do is go back in time to these days? Music and movies were good, Conan's show was FUCKING HILARIOUS, and things were so much more simple and relaxed.
