You could probably on the surface of the wire try and rough it up a little bit with sandpaper to give it a bit of a brushed texture that would make clay attached better. There's also things that you could do to tape the parts you want to do clear and use glass etching and etch everything else to frost it and it might make, the clay stick a little bit better to the glass too, and it would give a nice effect use a liquid glass section to make certain parts opaque and you can cut pieces of tape in the shape of the window, the clear part and then do the rest of the bottle frosted, which can be cool or you can make most of it clear and frosted area to make cool designs glass etching would probably be a fun thing to do with this. There's also versions that are just topical that will peel off one brand being gallery glass but if you're gonna really etch the glass, it would probably, stick the clay better to the bottle
I was shocked to see how fresh this channel is, I assumed you have hundreds of thousand subs already! Production quality is top notch. Awesome video! I clicked on it initially because I thought it was like, super popular or newly trending on my fyp but was surprised to find that your channel is still super new! So excited to see it grow and what else you guys come up with!
When sculpting on glass you either need to sand the glass or accept that a lot of the pieces will pop off and get ahead of it by taking them off yourself and gluing them in place. For wire, if you wrap an even smaller wire around the first wire, it gives the clay something to grip on to.
That makes so much sense! Thank you for the helpful advice. I hadn't thought about wrapping more wire around the armature wire-that's a great idea! I'll definitely try that next time!
@@SideQuestCraftingif you ever want to see more clay stuff i really recommend a youtube called north of the border! i’ve learned so much just watching his stuff
Just found your channel today and I am already hooked! As a Nerdforge fan, I'll definitely be sticking around! Also, never been more stressed about glueing in my life lol
Thank you so much! Your kind words mean the world to us! We are huge Nerdforge fans as well! Also, same! We've never been more stressed over glue too! 😅
The end was STRESSFUL lol, but i suggest either using wooden dowels cut to length and/or using hot glue in addition to the spreadable glue since it dries quick. I've used both methods and they usually work out, so maybe they can help in the future. Excited to see part 2!
Wooden dowels are a great idea! My mom used to be a pastry chef, and it reminds me of the dowels they used to hold all the different layers together. =)
Gluing the layers individually, and letting each dry before adding the next, is also an easy method. It does take longer, but not by all that much (depending on the glue you use).
Ohh the end got me stressin 😭😭 I agree with everyone else, i thought this was a trending video on my feed, but surprised to see only 500 views!!! This is AMAZING!! The dedication and film quality, music and vibes are killer!!

Some tips for sculpting on various materials; using scotch tape (the tan stuff) helps with adhesion on smooth surfaces, like the wire for example. Also, scratching up the surface of whatever you are sculpting on will also help with it sticking better. You can either scratch the surface yourself or prime them with something clear like MSC or Tamiya has a clear primer too. Also, maybe use a dowel through the foam to keep it in place. I'm not sure what glue you used on the wood and foam surface, but contact adhesive, I use a spray and not a brush on type, might work better since it is lower moisture, so you shouldn't get the curling of the wood, and it should give you a good quick adhesion. Hopefully one of these things helps.
Wow. I started off thinking a lot of this would be unnecessary but 4 minutes in I was gobsmacked at how gorgeous it was turning out and you've got me hooked. Spectacular video quality too; I'm definitely subscribing!
Looks amazing! I would suggest using a two part apoxy clay for sculpting as it sticks to surfaces like glass and plastic better. I’d also recommend using fairy film and wire to make the wings! Not only is it easier, cheaper, and lighter than resin but it’s also more posable!
Can’t believe how recently you guys have started this channel. Everything looks extremely professional! It’s like you’ve been crafting and making videos for decades!! :0
This is amazing!! I love how unique everything is looking, the designs are super pretty and aesthetically pleasing to look at. You guys have done great! Looking forwards to seeing more of your content 🥰
just wanting to share ... i've done a few trials with making my own silicone molds out of clay sculpts ... and i've found that the easiest way to keep your parts down while the silicone sets is tape ... either double sided tape on the back of your piece and placed in your frame, or (like i usually do) use a bottomless mold and make the bottom out of resin tape ... i don't recommend what i do with the resin tape, as you do tend to get a ripple or two on the "top" of your finished mold, but i'm lazy and have no pieces of plexiglass/etc to make temporary molds out of 😅 hope this helps and love the vids ... great work you two 💙
omg the foam cutter wire 😭😭 as an interior architecture student who had to deal with foam cutting A LOT i wish i knew this tool existed before😭😭 definitely buying this for next semester 😭

Thank you so so much! Your kind words and support mean so much to us! Welcome to the channel! We are just getting started on our adventures and we can't wait to do more!
What stunning artistry! These are already turning out amazingly, I can't wait to see the final product. I very recently had to make my own molds for a resin project and struggled with the resin taking on the same texture as the mold. Brushing it with resin first is such a neat and tidy solution! I'll definitely have to remember that for the future, thank you!
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! UV resin is great for getting a shiny, smooth texture, just beware that using too much resin can cause a loss of detail on the objects being coated! This happened to us 😅. We lost some detail on our wings from using too much and had to Dremel those details back in afterwards (spoilers for part 2). Happy crafting! ✨
Honestly, this has encouraged me to do the same, except make my own perfumes of Harry Potter characters! With the inspo of these designs for the bottles❤
You're so incredibly talented!! I subscribed 3 minutes in. What amazing work. That trick with polyurethane resin to mold it to the bottle is genius. A really great clay primer is gesso. It's water based so the clay soaks it right up for a nice, even finish. You can even tint it a little with a bit of acrylic paint to help get a head start on painting (Not too much or it will get streaky!) Looking forward to more of your amazing stuff!
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel, we're so glad you're here! The polyurethane resin took lots of trial and error, but it turned out great and so much fun! Also, thank you for your support and advice! Gesso sounds like a great idea - we will definitely keep that in mind for future projects!

You guys have great content. Btw, I think for the foam, it would benefit from dowel rods or wire. If you really wanted you could try threading sturdy but bendable wire through the foam pieces and wrap the excess around the trunk like vines or however you choose to shape and decorate it. I haven't tried it, but it seems like it might offer a cool and practical effect.
Looks really cool!!! Loving the designs and the final result. ✨✨✨ For alternative materials, I've seen people use worbla, craft foam and foam clay. What works best depends on the purpose of the object (weight, durability), plus which tools and materials you have on hand ofc.
Thank you so much! We definitely want to try working with worbla, craft foam, and foam clay; they all look like lots of fun! Thank you so much for the advice and for your support! ✨

as a seasoned Evan and Katelyn watcher I was automatically saying "you forgot the mold release!" during the silicon pour haha. Awesome video! I'm obsessed with your work already and the production quality, instant sub! Can't wait for the next part!
3:21 you can try wrapping the wire with thin craft wire to give the clay something to hold onto. The UA-camr “NorthoftheBorder” is a sculpted and has tons of really good sculpting advice that I believe can help you out. Also loving these potion bottles so far! Keep up the good work!!
I would definitely recommend toothpicks in between the foam layers to stop it from sliding. Plus a glue that isnt water based and has a quick dry time (also, not gluing every thing at once, and gluing the foam then hot wire cutting it.
Great video! hope to see a happy ending of potions quest and also more of your projects 😊 oh, and for silicone mold casting, you can try regular sticky putty to keep your models in place. For small pieces works like charm, it gives tons of control over edges' quality and it's just much less messy than hot glue
Thank you so much! We are so happy you enjoyed it, part 2 coming soon! Also, thank you so much for the advice! Sticky putty is such a great idea, we will definitely remember this for future projects!
I was honestly quite surprised when I heard your plan for the wings! Making custom molds is a lot of work! Good on you. I figured you’d have pulled out the good ole gold wire armature sandwiched between two pieces of iridescent film and ironed together trick. Since that one involves way fewer steps, lol.
Thank you so much! Making custom resin wings was such a new and cool thing for us to try, and we are so happy with how the wings turned out! We might try armature wire and iridescent film in the future too!
Love these ideas, for base and potions. Maybe add stones and mushrooms later IF you desire (to the base). How about a stamina and night vision potions next?
Thank you so much! We love the idea of adding mushrooms and stones, unfortunately we weren't able to get to them this time around, but we will definitely keep them in mind for future projects! Definitely want to do stamina and night vision potions too! ✨ Great ideas!
Where the heck are all the subscribers you should have? These are so cool! I’m definitely looking at foreword to you getting your first UA-cam subscribers button. Great job
Getting clay to stick to wire: Sand the wire and the clay will stick better. Bend the wire into shape first then apply the clay. Alternatively, since this is air dry and not kiln clay you could try pipe cleaners instead of wire and the fuzz should provide the best grip. To keep your clay from popping off the smooth glass sand spots that will give the clay grip. Even if you pop it off then when you glue it back the sanded spot gives better grip for the glue.
Thank you so much for the advice! Pipe cleaners instead of the armature wire for air dry clay is such a great idea! We will for sure try this in future projects!
Welp I just discovered my next new channel to binge😅 I don't know why I've never seen your channel before, but THESE BOTTLES WERE INCREDIBLE!!!!! Late to comment buttttt, with stacking and gluing foam, if you are using tacky glue, driving a few wooden dowels in (like supports in a cake) can stop them from drifting while they dry.
From where did you get your transfer paper? I have some but it’s difficult to use, so I would like to know other options. I would also like to know where I can purchase that magic potion mug it looks fun :D
Thank you so much! The transfer paper is actually Canson Tracing Paper! And (I'm pretty sure) the mug is from Target! Thank you for your questions, we hope this helps! ✨

The moment I watched this I subscribed! Your work is so amazing!! Also love the sheer amount of glue you used for the wood!😂
Thank you so much! We’re so glad you’re here! When gluing the wood, we wanted to make sure nothing moved - and then everything moved 😅
SO cool!! I love these type of videos. Yoou guys are killing it. Love from France

3:21 you can try wrapping the wire with thin craft wire to give the clay something to hold onto. The UA-camr “NorthoftheBorder” is a sculpted and has tons of really good sculpting advice that I believe can help you out. Also loving these potion bottles so far! Keep up the good work!!
i’m 3 minutes into the video and had to stop to comment about how insanely talented you are?? simply amazing!!
Wow! Thank you so much!!
So glad i found your channel! Can't wait to see the rest of all your hard work🎉
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel! ✨
just found your channel and i love it so much omg!!! the quality is incredible & i love not only crafting but fantasy as well!! IMMEDIATE SUB! c:
Thank you so much for watching! Your support means a lot to us! Welcome to the channel!
I would definitely recommend toothpicks in between the foam layers to stop it from sliding. Plus a glue that isnt water based and has a quick dry time (also, not gluing every thing at once, and gluing the foam then hot wire cutting it.
Thank you so much! Gluing the base was so chaotic! We will definitely keep these tips in mind for future projects!
This is really cool! I have so many bottles just laying around and now I might actually do something with them lol
Thank you so much! That would be so cool, we'd love to see them if you do!
Great video! hope to see a happy ending of potions quest and also more of your projects 😊
oh, and for silicone mold casting, you can try regular sticky putty to keep your models in place.
WHEN WILL WE HAVE PART TWOOO?! we are so excited to see all the content from this page❤️ we love Fantasy crafters AAAA❤❤❤
Thank you so much, you are so kind! Your enthusiasm means the world to us! Part 2 is coming soon! ✨
Love this!! You guys rock!!!
Thank you so much!
Wow this is Amazing. You earned my Subscription! keep making videos
Thank you so much!!
Such a fun video! So glad I found your channel😊 you two remind me a lot of nerdforge
Wow, thank you so much!!! We're so happy you enjoyed our potions adventure! That's so kind! We look up to Nerdforge, they are amazing creators! ✨
Thank you for this video! 😀🌺🌺🌺
Thank you so much for watching!!
Liquid latex would also work perfectly in place of masking fluid for a project like this, it is significantly cheaper as well. :)
That is a great idea, thank you so much! Thank you for watching!
Subbed! Hope this channel goes places.
Thank you!! Welcome to the channel!
Where the heck are all the subscribers you should have? These are so cool! I’m definitely looking at foreword to you getting your first UA-cam subscribers button. Great job
Thank you so much! We're so glad you're here! 😊
You guys have so much potential! Keep at it :) Also, question, what microphone do you use o: ?
Thank you so much! We use RØDE Wireless GO II ✨
with any type of clay you want to work ruff surfaces so sandpaper it first or glue onto later cause will fall off otherwise especially small details
Thank you! We will definitely keep that in mind!
beautiful! helps me a lot w/the potion I plan on making my friend for her bday coming up
music at 2:48 pls?
and THANK YOU for subtitles!!
Thank you so much! We're glad you enjoyed the video! Hope your potion turns out amazing! The music at 2:48 is 'Skywards' by Aiyo 😊
@@SideQuestCrafting thank you!
Welp I just discovered my next new channel to binge😅 I don't know why I've never seen your channel before, but THESE BOTTLES WERE INCREDIBLE!!!!! And I also love how you break down all the steps and really show how you do each step. Thank you for all these amazing ideas, I recently acquired some awesome apothecary bottles and am excited to try this on some of them!🥰
Also I laughed so freaking hard at the double "oops" and the sliding mountain. I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at a crafting video🤣
Edit: Ohmygosh just realized you only have one other video (;A; ) Well I LOVE your content and am really looking forward to watching your channel grow! =D
That means a lot to us! Thank you so much!I We really appreciate your support and enthusiasm for our channel! We have so many ideas for projects with plenty more epic adventures on the way! Thank you youtube algorithm for showing me another good crafty channel... commenting to keep the algorithm train rollin'
Thank you so much! Your comment means so much to us!
Gluing that stump looks like it was a nightmare 😂💀 maybe duct tape around the seam would hold them together more securely if you do a similar project in future?
It was so stressful! 😅
But using duct tape is a great idea! Thank you so much!
You need to sand the glass and you can give it back to its see through by putting UV resin on it
Thank you for the tip! We'll definitely give it a try in the future!
How do you only have 260 subscribers?!
We're glad you're here! Thank you so much!

Thank you! We appreciate your feedback, and will keep that in mind!
❤❤❤
Where do you get your music from?☺️
We get our music from Epidemic Sound! ✨🎶
Late to comment buttttt, with stacking and gluing foam, if you are using tacky glue, driving a few wooden dowels in (like supports in a cake) can stop them from drifting while they dry.
Thank you so much! We will definitely keep wooden dowels in mind for future projects!
Man, that at the end did not want to corporate.
Super stressful! Thank you for watching!
@@SideQuestCrafting it does and Thank You!
Pretty C:
Thank you! ✨
Glad to be here for the beginning of your journey ❤

Thank you so much for your beautiful comment! 🌟 It means a lot to us that you're here at the beginning of our journey! We are so excited to continue and bring more adventures to the channel!
Health potions are red or green yellow is for stamina.
Thank you for your comment! We had considered using red or green for health, but ultimately chose gold because we wanted to channel the sun's healing and life-giving energy. We decided to reserve red and green for our strength and animal-shapeshifting potions, respectively.
lmao left on a cliffhanger. I"m sure you got this handled already, but maybe glue down one layer at a time so you can control the sliding better.
Thank you so much! Part 2 coming soon! ✨
Crafty 11yo is not happy waiting for part 2 😂 I think she's dragging me out bottle shopping next weekend!
This made us so happy! Thank you so much for sharing and for your support! We hope crafty 11yo has lots of fun crafting! ✨
