Just an idea to save you some $ on your next review. I think this was a great idea from Curlsmith as I have a lot of friends and family that are sensitive to fragrances. Also more and more offices are going scent free. Nice to see products lines that have options.

I have used the Shine line for 3 washdays. I used the level 9 gel. Definitely more shine. Lots of volume. I had to use a lot of gel to get a cast. It looks a little “stringy” on wash day, but day 2 is generally good. Fluffing absolutely restores volume! I’m liking the line, but I’m going to go back to my regular routine next washday to compare. I also brush style.
I purchased a few of the travel sizes of this & just used them on my last washday. I got the shampoo, shine jelly, and hard hold gel. I can't do a full routine without protein & get good results. I wanted to use the briogeo curl cream due to its high protein content but it failed the mix test on my hand. So I ended up using the botanika light defining cream, which has proteins but they're a little past halfway down on the list 😑. What I ended up doing was applying mostly the shine jelly all over, then the gel, but a smaller amount. It was thicker than I like & had been slightly sticky in my patch test, & the really low levels of protein was making me nervous so I took a tiny bit of the CS shape up aqua gel & mixed it with the shine gel to thin it out & add protein. My results were pretty good, but by day 3 I was definitely losing structure on my less curly side. My curlier side looked great still. My hair stayed pretty frizz free. By day 4 my less curly side had really fallen and lost a lot of definition, which looked weird compared to my curlier side. I really wish I had gotten the shine cream, and I'm probably going to. The shampoo worked well for me, no scalp irritation, & it was pretty cleansing but didn't strip my hair. I didn't get a weird feeling. This is the first time I used one of their shampoos. I'm definitely going to try each gel paired with a protein gel and/or foam. I also had gotten a harder cast than I like to get, so I had to SOTC the next morning which I prefer not to have to do. So all in all I liked the products but like usual, I think they'll work better for me when used with products from other brands.
Interesting. I always love hearing your results from products because our hair is so different. I think you might like the cream, it has the more lotiony texture to it. If I remember correctly, you like that kind of texture. I loved the consistency of the jelly and the hold of the gel. As per usual, I’ll be doing like you and mixing it with stuff from other brands because I can see their potential. And I definitely prefer adding something with protein. Always better results with some in there somewhere. Wait, you got a cast? I had no cast. I wonder if the cream had something to do with that. Hmmmmm 🤔
@@CurlyChelle547 oh yeah I had a cast, & a harder cast than I like. Anytime I have to scrunch out the crunch (if it's too much, I can't leave it in like I prefer to do, because it looks ridiculous lol), my ends start to get really fluffy over time and the whole look starts to fall apart over the next few days. But I also layered the gels so maybe that's why? I used more of the jelly than the hard hold gel though. And yes I definitely prefer lotion style creams! If I had known it was that you're I would have gotten it for sure. I almost did, but decided to wait. I'm going to be getting it now

But I scrunch out the rest in the morning. I just can’t leave it there. Although I don’t deal with humidity like you do so I can absolutely go without a cast and not have to worry about frizz. Well I don’t have to worry about humidity causing frizz anyway. I tend to cause my own because I’m forever flipping my hair back and forth to get it out of my way! 😝. You’ll have to let me know what you think of the cream when you get it.

Probably the styling soufflé. It has a strong but flexible hold. It used to be the in shower style fixer until I tried the soufflé. But I also really like the aqua gel because protein. I did see shine but I can’t say it’s more than I normally get from products. That being said, my product free hair has a lot of shine to it anyway so my hair is not the best judge of how much a product helps with shine. However, I feel like I get crazy shine with Uncle Funkys Daughter Curly Magic though. Every time I use it my hair is soooooo much shinier than normal. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching!
