I would agree with you. If she definitely has a degenerative bone disease, she probably spends a lot of time at home. Being socially isolated can cause all kinds of different things, and considering that she also moves around as a military wife, she's even more socially isolated. No doubt, that had an effect on her, because she didn't want to have to worry about snow in the winter time with her husband gone and her not being able to shovel.

I live in a cold region and we get tons of snow. I can't shovel it and i have a disabled parking pass too. Unless you have the disease do not judge.

Pretty common to prepay for snow removal where I live. You get it removed right away. If you wait till it snows, then start making calls to removal companies, they will be busy and can't come. Obviously this is usually done with actual companies with a good history in your community. It's strange the judge doesn't know this.
My uncle gave customers a discount for payment of snow plowing if they paid by August & in full. And IF he had time, for the ones who didn’t or ones who didn’t contract him, you’d be lucky if he saved your butt but the price would go way up!
When I did snow removal, I always worked on pre-paid contracts. Very rarely would I take calls once the snow has started falling from new customers.. My days plowing snow during storms sometimes went to 35 hours straight.. This is in PA, and it is very common.. People lock up snow removal services by late October for the season.. Many times you plow out a customer and have to go back multiple times during a big storm.. Small storms you wait until the snow is almost done.. But for my elderly customers I would also sometimes plow a lane in the street up to their house so if there was an emergency the emergency vehicle would get through.. Those contracts are all non-refundable.. as is the standard practice. But none of my contracts for a private house were more than 500 a season.. This dude 3k for a season is a total ripoff.. Unless she had a 500' driveway and a huge parking area.. He totally ripped her off.. PLUS hi putting her personal business into the show like he did is a total douche move.. Dude is total scum.

He said he was going to pay me every month until he had enough money built up to put a new engine in his truck. The estimate I had given him was a total of $3800. At the time I was struggling as I had just built a new shop and had twice as many employees as I had previously. Things like taxes, new permits and equipment and just catching up to the new added volume meant I was broke. I should have just told the guy no but I didn't. But I did take every check he gave me and put it in my personal savings account so it wouldn't be available to pay regular bills with it. When he achieved the $3800 I scheduled him in, ordered the motor and all the other parts and then performed the repair. After that I never accepted anything more than a deposit for parts. As a small business owner it is really hard not to rob Peter to pay Paul when you are struggling. Also, I love the plaintiff's explanation for her toy!!! She's a 100% honest woman and it is refreshing when so many people would make up a lie or something😛

My late brother was in the Navy. Since he had gone in I have a love/hate feeling towards them due to how they treated my brother. They were told he needed special shoes due to problems with his feet while growing up - they nearly ruined his feet by giving him regular shoes. He was told he'd be able to come back to tell Mom goodbye - the next thing we knew he was calling from a different state without the privilege to contact Mom at all. And the list goes on.... From that, my feelings towards the Navy are very comprised.

I don’t think the plaintiff is as naïve as she’s trying to portray herself. I think she was hoping for a fling with the defendant so she flashed her money at him and got him on “retainer”. Having an affair in the military can be cause for dishonorable discharge, losing all military pay and benefits and even brig for a year (incarceration). Wow, Ive heard that answer asked to awful ppl before, but this is the FIRST time Ive heard a sincere answer like that. He's a slimeball and I hope he learned his lesson from this but at least he has some level of remorse, which I deemed by the fact he didnt try to make excuses or defend his greedy actions in his response.

My late brother was in the Navy. Since he had gone in I have a love/hate feeling towards them due to how they treated my brother. They were told he needed special shoes due to problems with his feet while growing up - they nearly ruined his feet by giving him regular shoes. He was told he'd be able to come back to tell Mom goodbye - the next thing we knew he was calling from a different state without the privilege to contact Mom at all. And the list goes on.... From that, my feelings towards the Navy are very comprised.

I don’t think the plaintiff is as naïve as she’s trying to portray herself. I think she was hoping for a fling with the defendant so she flashed her money at him and got him on “retainer”. IMO, they engaged in an affair which is why when the judge asked the defendant, “how do you sleep at night?”… the defendant said that he did not sleep well at all. Having an affair in the military can be cause for dishonorable discharge, losing all military pay and benefits and even brig for a year (incarceration). The plaintiff asking the defendant to fix her intimate machine seems so slimy to me, I can’t fathom any other woman asking a random man to do this!

Here in New England it’s common to pay snow removal folks prior to work done because they’re too busy once it actually snows (and everyone else is also calling them). You don’t pay thousands and the companies are reputable but still, it’s not that outrageous of a concept.

If he had said it was up front for a year’s worth of handyman services, he could have probably won. because she knew after seeing all the crap that was on the list, she ended up being scammed. Some people will get it back as long as evidence is enough to prove it was a scam. People only go to court if it was like a $100+ scam, otherwise, losing out $20-40 isn't a good reason to go to court unless it's the principal.
